  1. I don't. As to who owns the stadium who knows as it's all very confusing ~ to me anyway. Doesn't David lease it from the council rather than actually own it?
  2. Blimey! It's all happening in this week's Speedway Star. Judging by comments on other threads it looks like it's going to be sold out everywhere so not much point me looking for a copy. Wonder when Mick Horton is going to have a 2 page article or even 1 page?
  3. So true. Trouble is promoters don't think we need to know what's going on and keep everything quiet. We have had no comment from Mick Horton since the end of the 2016 season regarding Coventry so all that happens is fans speculating on possible different outcomes and becoming more disillusioned with the sport. Is no news good news? Who knows but as Sandhu has now apparently 'moved on' and the stadium is missing most of the things that make it operational I'm sadly in the disillusioned and pessimistic camp.
  4. No not really, apart from the occasional look at Peterborough threads as they are the nearest lower division team to me and where I'm more likely to go. I still think the E.L. has been in a bigger mess this close season than any of the others, with doubt about running of almost half of last year's teams. Thankfully Leicester seem to be sorted, although no idea who will be in the team and Belle Vue will hopefully have good news this week, which leaves Coventry ~ heaven knows what's happening with them. At least Swindon have the old stadium to use this year should the new one not materialize. I can't remember saying it was all the fault of the top flight though.
  5. Okay fair enough as I didn't think of the other teams involved, just what a mess the E.L. is in at the moment. Anyway. I hope it all works out well for Somerset. Have loved visiting there in the past ~ great track.
  6. Don't worry as I doubt very much if that will happen. I bet you won't say no to using riders from the Coventry team though?
  7. Yes it is but the one below seems to sum it up better unfortunately.
  8. Well, that one is very interesting. 'There are no stories available.' Bit like looking at the Coventry website.
  9. Better get used to it. Worst thing Somerset did was to join the Elite League or whatever it's called now. They must be mad.
  10. Oh blimey! Just when I was feeling a bit more cheerful about my health and fitness that's taken me back to square one again.
  11. Those damn Grockles in the Summer months can be a bit of a pain in the neck too.
  12. Don't think I'll ever get to Poole again but have many happy memories of holidays in Dorset. Lovely area.
  13. Yes she does....and Peterborough on some Sunday's as well too because all these tracks allow dogs. I live in Leicester so only a few miles from Beaumont Park. Coventry is just 21 miles up.....or down?.......the M69 which we live near so an easy journey and Peterborough 41 miles but a horrible journey.
  14. It wouldn't be 'our' team though would it. You don't seem able to grasp the fact that Coventry and Leicester are arch rivals ~ a bit like Wolves and Cradley in the past or Poole and.....well just about everyone. Neither set of fans would be keen on a Coventry side riding at Beaumont Park, it would have to be a Leicester team or nothing. Quite possibly a few Bees riders will end up there but they will be riding for the Lions if they do.
  15. Only my opinion of course but I think it was all over on November 30th and I have been pessimistic about the outcome since then. I feel really sorry for the longstanding fans who have been kept in the dark and have no idea what is happening. I first started to support Coventry in 1984 so not so long as some and I have always got Leicester just a few miles up the road if I want to watch some Speedway but for others it will probably be the end and a few hundred more lost to the sport. Okay someone cheer me up.
  16. So in other words we are doomed because Sandu has now 'moved on'. For the sake of the riders signed and the long suffering fans please could the Coventry promotion put us all out of our misery, make a statement and not drag it on any longer.
  17. Yes, I just have. I can go to bed now safe in the knowledge you've found someone to disagree with.
  18. What's wrong Steve have you got no-one to argue with tonight?
  19. I think Steve also knows where TGI Friday's is as he has been there many times before Coventry v Poole meetings. Ah..... that would be Hank who could kill with one bite. It's not really useless though is it? There could have been lorries in the car park with new floodlights, poles, fencing and 100 men working inside the stadium making sure everything will be okay when the Speedway season starts. As it happens there is zilch going on but at least we know now because we get told bugger all by anyone else.
  20. Seems to me Speedway fans are very gullible and believe everything they are told.....or in Coventry's case bugger all because our promoters seem to have moved to Mars.
  21. Aww bless. You're not old enough. Once heard never forgotten. I remember him from his time when he was supporting Ray Wilson.
  22. Probably the only bit that's not accurate as I believe I'm right in saying this is a different company entirely to the one registered in Jersey..... or wherever it is.
  23. Yes Rory lives in Coventry so I suppose the exception to the rule is when they have an English partner and settle down here where there are more opportunities to race.
  24. You'll probably have a long wait....but that's the whole idea isn't it?
  25. I think that's the bit you've got right. Born in Australia so who in their right mind would want to live in the UK Midlands when they retire. He's probably sunning himself on the Gold Coast at this very moment.
