  1. For heaven's sake don't start him off again. All it is at the moment is yet another rumour and I'm more inclined to believe that it will only be Leicester riding at Beaumont Park but probably with a few of the Coventry riders. I'm sure we'll get an actual statement eventually. Wake me up when we do as I'm bored stiff. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  2. Here comes the paranoia again. Would you care to list the Poole fans who have been banned? So do I. Jeremy Heaver is still doing it on Facebook today. Wouldn't it be nice if we could believe a word he says.
  3. Or there is another possibility of course. Sandhu and Brandon Estates are one and the same, there is no police investigation and it's all been perfectly planned to get the Speedway out, leave the place derelict ~ it's not that far off now ~ and eventually get planning permission. They've waited for years so a few more won't make much difference. The council thinking of all the tax they will get from a housing estate have second thoughts now the stadium isn't being used and planning gets the go ahead. The End.
  4. Obviously Starman hasn't or he wouldn't keep banging on about Coventry using the Beaumont Park track. Can someone else tell him because I've lost what patience I had, which wasn't much in the first place.
  5. How many more times! It doesn't matter how many times you repeat it 99% of Leicester fans do not want Coventry riding there and 99% of Coventry fans don't want to go there. Ground share does NOT work and the attendance would be abysmal.
  6. They wouldn't. Coventry would be finished at Brandon and Leicester would probably use a few of their riders, which would be an improvement on some of the teams they've had over the last few years. Anyone who wanted to watch some speedway after Brandon's demise would just have to go to their nearest track. In my case it would be Leicester but in others probably Birmingham or Wolverhampton.
  7. Liontamer didn't seem very impressed when I named that team a few days ago. Well, I suppose I'm lucky because I live in Leicester so I can go every week. So a full turn around for me ~ Leicester fan from 1949 to 1983 then Coventry fan from 1984 to 2016. Back to Leicester in 2017. Are you still being optimistic? I gave that up months ago.
  8. I'm not so sure about that because Friday is notoriously bad travelling anywhere. I still think Saturday might be the preferred option but I suppose we will find out shortly when the Coventry saga is over.
  9. It's looking that way. They'll be okay if you eat them straightaway though.
  10. Me sceptical? I know how much you admire Sandhu. It would be good to confirm it though in view of the fact others have heard a different story,
  11. I've read that article before but there's nothing in it to confirm your comments that the Ochiltrees didn't want to leave or that he drove them out....unless you can find the other part where is says that. He willingly admits he bought the stadium with the intention of bulldozing it and building houses on the 25-acre site. "I wanted it for housing, and to start with my offer was turned down even though I outbid everyone else," he explained. "The site was offered to an ex-speedway rider but that deal fell through, and they came back to me. I then bought it at a lower price than I first offered. "I knew it was going to be a long hard battle for planning permission for houses and in the end I wasn't prepared for that, so we decided to keep the speedway and stock-cars and explore introducing other sports at the stadium. Anyway Lucy is all ready for the season to start and is extremely happy with her new coat........I think. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155693285642785&set=a.10150784554067785.494859.550797784&type=3&theater
  12. Okay fair enough and I realise now how it could involve 3 leagues. I don't have that problem these days but in the past we have booked a week's holiday in Dorset when the Bees were riding there and the fixture then got moved to another week so after that I just took pot luck. I don't think I'll even get the chance somehow but I've got Anne Widdecombe on standby just in case. Sorry that's not allowed any more unless Steve Shovlar can smuggle his camera in. I know you have always said this so you must have read the article somewhere. Can you post the link as it sounds interesting.
  13. Whilst I have every sympathy for other fans who are awaiting the outcome does anyone these days really sort out travel arrangements, books hotels etc. purely on the basis of where their team is riding and when because even when it comes out, if it's anything like last season, the fixture list is always being altered? Why does it affect 3 leagues anyway?
  14. But would he keep his word? I think that's very doubtful. He has said in the past he wouldn't sell the stadium without building another one first, also that he was the sole owner when he wasn't. Looks to me like it's all going to plan.
  15. No surprise really. Who in their right mind would sign a lease for a wrecked stadium. The parties concerned might just as well have issued a statement on December 1st after Sandhu's demolition job instead of keeping the fans and riders up in the air not knowing what's happening and giving us false hope.
  16. Do you really think he's ever had any intention of doing that? I'll do a lap of the Brandon track in my mobility scooter just wearing my knickers if we come to the tapes in March.
  17. It's just annoying when you can tell a rider is not interested and not putting any effort in, just pootling round at the back, and it must have been very obvious that day for me to remember.
  18. Ah yes Chris Louis and wet tracks. I can't remember any details because my brain cells these days only store more useful information but I seem to recall being at Peterborough (I think) when they were riding against Ipswich and he was diabolical and showing no interest at all in racing.
  19. I can't see David agreeing to pay for any track alterations being as it was Mr Darcy who financed the changes to bend 3/4 last year and now Glyn has gone who is capable of doing them anyway?
  20. Okay fair enough but as I am mostly interested in Leicester and Coventry threads and not much is happening with the Bees one I was quite happy to see two regarding the Lions. Back to the arguing then.
  21. I haven't read the article but am hoping it's Saturday as that's the best option for continuing to encourage children to be in attendance with their parents, also away fans and occasional visitors. So presumably DH, Glynn, Norrie Allen and Mrs DH have gone. Has the Lion mascot survived?
