From Times and Star Meanwhile, hopes that former Comet Rusty Harrison could race for the outfit for the rest of this season have been dashed. Harrison was banned for 12 months in July for withholding services when he walked out on Comets. He last week appealed against the ban but while it was reduced by the British Speedway Promoters’ Association it remains in force for the remainder of the 2012 programme. Not that it really matters, would be good to have the 2011 Rusty back

Why couldn't it have been run today?

Was a rerun offered to Workington? If it was and it was turned down then fair enough, I don't think it was though. They should have tried to run the meeting, Edinburgh would probably have won but it would have been decided on the TRACK. I hope lessons are learned from this, but as it's the BPSA who knows.

Tony Jackson is staying on and will also be co-promoter.

Comets continue next year

Did Edinburgh offer another date? Did the Comets refuse? It should have been rerun but if not possible it wouldn't have been fair on Scunny to award us 3 pts. Very unsatisfactory end to the season.

The way Stead rode on Monday night I'm not sure if he'll be dropping down. Unless they change the rules he wouldn't be able to double up.

I did think that after I posted, he's never really improved much though, he does have talent.

Can't see Charles Wright being back at Workington any time soon.

One thing they should change is the use of tacticals in 2 legged matches, we were effectively punished for doing well at Ipswich, only 2pts behind after heat 10, they maybe balance out over the season but imo unfair in cup matches.

I agree with you, Ref's decision is final once it's over, surely. It's tough on Craig and Edinburgh though if Rich crossed the line, seems he has from what Craig has said.
