To be fair to Chessel, Whistle gang he had a good meeting monday close to a paid max..However consistancy remains a problem with him ...when Benji is back and i repeat when!! he is still heavily strapped on his wrist and fore arm,, If we can not fit him in by losing a reserve i imagine it might be Chessel who goes, as Aarron Basby is looking the more consistent of the two,,But then im not the manager so its any ones guess what might happen ....

It is indeed Stoke next week and i have corrected my post,They will be a real test ..... Falcon yes ,Simon looked fast and steady on the bike and is showing a resurgence of the form he is capable of since leaving Rye,, i also heard he had changed his engine tuner but dont quote me on that and the track is becoming smoother every week as it is now starting to bind together with the base....I would however take issue with the match report of a large crowd attending ,i would say it was well down on numbers ...

Bit of a stroll in the park for the Kings facing a side weakened by retirements from the sport by their two strongest riders ,,Plymouth need to strengthen up but can they,? are the riders available to do it ? its dougbtfull ? Kings cantered home to a 64-28,victory ,despite some spirited performances from Brendon Johnson and in particular James Shanes ,who when he learns to gate could become a very good rider as he really goes into the corners with plenty of motor on ,i was impressed, ,,, Good nights for Simon Lambert 15 point max David Mason paid 15 point max,,Ben Morley locked up on the first bend in his first ride but was solid after that,, though i have seen him sharper round here 9+1.. ..Arron Basby and Luke Chessel both had good nights ,9+1 and 9 +2 respectively ..Danny Ayers and Luke Harris continue to make progress and had their moments tonight 5 and 4+2 respectively Not to much should be read into this result as only Scunthorpe are likely to provide weaker opposition ,Next week will be a totally different scenario when the kings Lynn outfit hit town...

Brandon has been out for quite a while with concussion which sometimes takes a long time to recover from ,so its anyones guess when he might return..We all know his capabilities, but he had not been doing that well this season before his injury so i do not think the lads replacing him are doing too badly taking in to account their limited expierience.... Where as Benji,s form away from home was as good as any ones, and thats where he is sorely missed...

Not exactly the stroll in the park expected against a decimated Coventry out fit.. The lads representing the Storm tonight can all be proud of their efforts providing a far more entertaining meeting than expected..A blue groove developed early which really helped David Mason to fly round tonight 13 +1... Ben Morley also only dropped one point to an opposing rider when Dan Greenwood shot up the inside on the blue groove to lead out of bend 2,,,he and Brendon Johnson providing the main opposition keeping the Storm in contention till heat ten when the Kings slowly drew clear to win 53-37....One has to say had the Storm been at full strenght the result might have been compleately different and the kings still look vulnerable at home without Benji Compton,, hopefully when he returns the averages will allow us to keep Aaron Basby who had a couple of good wins tonight,.. Danny Ayres continues to improve and does the fastest remounts in British speedway a born entertainer ..Guest Ben Hopwood did a good job for us tonight ..Garry Chessle is very up and down ,,needs some consistancy,,while young Luke Harris has gone backwoods a little lately but its early doors with him..We will however need to strengthen up if we are going to make the play offs

Nice gesture from Mildenhall with the free programmes,,Personally i find they spoil them selves when they always question the refs decisions when one of their riders has been legitimately excluded ,,you can understand their fans doing it,, But their match reports should not include such observations..
-
Coventry have now lost Ollie Greenwood as depending on the guest it looks now that the Kings should take this against a considerably weaker than normal Storm .Ben Hopwood guests for the unavailable Simon Lambert at No 1..The new averages will probably take effect in Kings next meeting which will see Ben Morley move to number one..Hope the weather holds out today and all the boys have a good safe meeting..... ..One thing i have noticed this season is, that despite the introduction of compulsary air fences there seems to be more injured riders than ever at the moment..
-
On a rough track that caused a few falls to even the top riders like Joe Jacobs... Mildenhall had to much strenght in depth for the kings who had Ben Morley ( Who will be no 1 Next week ) and Simon Lambert to thank for the bulk of Kents points ,To their credit both got stuck in and gave their all.. And by the way Damon ,Ben Morley always does his best for whoever he rides for, and no he would not have been using inferior equipment either ,,Difficult for our rookie reserves who have had little or no experience of the mildenhall track..Disappointing returns from Mason and Chessel I think both would admit they should have done better especially after their recent good form at home,, Aaron Baseby has had little racing this season and may need a bit more time to get dialed in, but the signs are there.. Impressed with Tigers Connor Coles and Connor Mountain ,,Coles looks a different rider round here than he did at Kent last season , Danny Halsey seems a better rider round here than any where else After an exclusion for taking Ben Morley out in his first ride he then reeled off 5 untroubled straight wins,, .. Joe Jacobs fresh from his away 18 point max, started slowly but came good especially in a titanic battle in heat 13 with Simon Lambert for 2nd place ,one of the best races i have seen this season ..Enjoyable afternoons racing Both teams were below full strenght Bates out ,Kingston out for the Fen Tigers and,, ( We need Benji Compton back as soon as possible,) and he was at the meeting supporting the team wrist still heavely strapped..

Just love the word S N A T C H will use it where possible in future

Strange that ,what is wrong with the word ###### ! lets see if this is dealt with in the same way,,Going up for this one, should be a good meeting having Aaron Basby should help us as he knows the track really well will certainly produce more points than RR for Benji ,,Hope we can get a point but it will be really hard,as Joe Jacobs and Danny Halsey are very strong here. Josh Bates too, can be brilliant or inconsistent lets hope its the latter ...Ben and Simon will need to be at thier best, hopefully David can chip in with some points ,but i feel it will be difficult for our two rookies here,,,Luke Chessel,s form has picked up lately and if he is gating could he do well but here again it is consistency that is the problem.. The weather looks good and its a great afternoon out at Mildenhall ,win or lose we usually enjoy it as the place has atmosphere... i see it has been hashed on my post too very strange any one know why ? the word was ######

New CMA averages see Ben Morley on 8.80 And Simon Lambert on 6.67 Should see them change position in the team probable in a weeks time,, i think ?
-
I think this swop is more about who goes better at Kent,// that,s definitely Aaron ..Connor struggled round Kent but i saw him ride last year at Mildenhall and the place suited him much better..Who,s to say how much improvement there is as the ability to financially maintain good equipment also comes in to the equation .Apart from helping Kent out of a difficult immediate problem, this is also an excellent move for both riders..
-
Looks like we will have Aaron Basby for our next meeting ,,The management have done a swop deal with Mildenhall, with Connor Coles going in the opposite direction.. Good deal all round, Basby rides Kent well, and Connor goes better at Mildenhall...
-
Very dissapointing result at Cradley ,not a single race win for the kings ,,Cant comment further as i was not there..Glad i was,nt,,the trip home must have been awfully quiet..

Good decision by Len not to water the track before the meeting other wise it would not have been completed.//Highlight of the afternoon was the form of Danny Ayers ,he has pace and is now less likely to fall by overiding Hope we have him under contract...his 5-1 with David Mason, who again showed what team riding is all about in holding off a determined Jack Kingston and nursing the rookie home was the best race of an entertaining afternoon,,Great credit to all the riders as the track became increasingly wet and slippery on the inside line... Steve Boxall was what you would expect at this level,,class...Ben Morley rode some great second turns to real off 3 straight wins before getting left at the gate in what looked like an extremly dodgy start to heat 13 ,,Luke Chessle looked back to something like the form he is capable of and young Luke Harris continues to pick up points and will im sure keep improving as the season progresses..As others have said Aaron Basby looked usefull for the Dons and could undoubtedly do a job for the kings while Benji Compton is out with an injured wrist,, as RR is ,not working well in this instance,,and maybe beyond if the averages fit ....Congratulations to everyone involved, in getting through the meeting ... Result kings52_Dons38... Ben Morley 11 For Kings and Luke Bowen 10 for Dons top scored ... -

I dont do facebook or twitter either -
The management have tried to make this fixture attractive with the inclusion of Steve Boxall for Lambert and Luke Bowen for the dons,,expect some excitng races between these,, and throw in the in form Ben Morley and the racing.is sure to be competitive..Hopefully the weather will be okay ?

I was at lakeside watching our Ben Morley, but glad to hear how a proper captain David Mason operates,,In my opinion should have got the job in the first place..
-
I agree Monty reducing the number of riders is not good for speedway in any meeting,, but to the promoters one less rider to pay travelling expenses too,, and in some cases weakens a team dramatically,,in others strengthens the team,, In Kents case the former applies ... The one plus point of course is extra rides for some and increased earnings..
-
Used to watch Gary Chessel at Lakeside years ago name sticks in my mind,,You must have read the post as soon as i put it up,because i noted the mistake and edited it within minutes...

Stokes strenght in depth proved to much for the kings over the 10 heats raced ,,,Though Ben Morley 2 wins from 2 had another poss 3 rides to come and with Simon Lambert looking more like himself this week with another 2 rides available and David Mason also scoring well we may have pulled it of in the last 5 races had it been possible to run them..But in all honesty the RR for Benji Compton cost us dear and will im afraid continue to do so over the next few meetings, as Luke Chessel is not really firing on all cylinders ,don,t know why, he is capable of better...And young Luke Harris struggled in the wet conditions today but over all is doing all that can be expected of him and will continue to improve..Also missing Brandon Freemantle hopefully he is back soon ..By contrast Stokes reserves looked very strong ,,Cris Widman too is an improved rider on previous seasons,, With a top end of Ben Wilson,Ben,Hopwood and Jon Armstrong they are a usefull outfit and i would expect them to be right up there challenging for a top four place this season ...The track was a big improvement this week and despite the wet conditions rode well untill a heavy shower curtailed the meeting... Nice to meet up with my ol,mate Malcolm Vasey ,who no doubt will enjoy working with a good team of riders this year...

Thanks Islander that info may help others as well,,
-
Thanks for that Islander,, what happens if Chessle is out as well, can we have a guest for the higher average rider?
-
Seriously concerned about the curfew if we get anything like the delays of last monday,,Every one especially the ref will need to be on the ball..It wont be easy with Benji out weakens the team badly ,Dont know why we cant have a guest as RR does not hack it with the riders able to take his rides,....Expect Wilson ,Hopwood and Armstrong to make this a tough test for the Kings,, much will depend on our rookie reserves and Luke Chessel, ( is he riding also injured last week ) to keep cool and stay on board and pick up good points ,,also not sure if we will need a guest for Simon Lambert injured before the weekend,,if so we should have a good choice on account of his high average Then there is the weather ,,lots of ifs about this meeting at the moment...
-
From the center green it looked an average crowd but being a local derby i suppose a few more could have been expected, but also bear in mind the number of meetings on during monday,.. Some of you lads are coming on a bit strong with the personal stuff on here,, we are all Kent supporters and while i agree we all have the right to make constructive critism ,,and on this occasion i agree with most of it..We still need to keep our posts friendly towards those who may have a differing opinion...
