Another poor performance from a woefully weak Kings team,, and a ref Cris Gay who likes to watch riders burn their clutches out before releasing the tapes ,but also loves to watch Adam Ellis perform his amazing rolling starts that never seem to get penalised at this track recently,, I make it six in his last two visits here.... In my opinion .Riders, taking an age to get to the tapes and then messing about when they get there annoy me !,,dont they know there is a curfew at the track, and from their crys of, Get on with it!! from the crowd,, one feels the fans may lose their appetite for the sport here, unless things improve dramatically and who can blame them.. Only Ben 15+1 inc a tactical,, and Danny 11 points came out o this meeting with much credit ,Though Danno, Aaron and Jamie tried hard for only small rewards,, But the Raiders deserved their dominate victory 49-38 and in contrast to the kings their bottom end looked extremly promising,,Finally best wishes to James for a speedy recovery we missed him today.. There is NO MEETING NEXT MONDAY!!

Top two teams from groups A AND B qualify for the final..Semi,s 8 heats ,,final 8 heats..Riders only 2 rides each in the semi,s,,not much good if you do not qualify some will be out of pocket .Stupid format anyway in my opinion...The teams that are not in it i presume were considered the weakest probably on total averages ? but im only guessing ??

TMW you are of course entitled to your opinion ,and while Danny can be the great entertainer he can also be down right dangerous at times a win at all cost attitude is good up to a point where serious injury could result..That is my opinion, along with a number of others i might add...

After tonights poor performance from the Kings the call for changes will be strong ..After watching i think his name is Bob Watts go round in the second half he has to be worth a go..Bens gating was not at his best tonight 10 Points.. James had a couple of brilliant rides but struggles in the big heats where he is usually last out of the gate 8 points,,, Danny Ayres is sometimes like a suicidal maniac and some one is going to get badly hurt soon if he does not calm it down a bit 7 points ,,Aaron after a fall in his first ride reeled of 3 wins and did his job 9 points..Signs that Danno is improving with 6 paid 8..Couzins well its hard for him at no2 scored 2 and Sheperd well ??? Zero ,, Armstrong and Payne were excellent for Stoke, with good back up from Widman and Phillips and were well worth their victory I suspect my old mate Team Manager Malcolm Vasey was over the moon!! The fans will start to desert soon if the team is not strengthened,,But how !! that is a difficult question ?...

Remaining upright and not throwing away points will be the key to a good win tonight......

Mondays here and no sign of a thread for this meeting which hopefully will see a return to form for the Kings

Enjoyable meeting on at times a dusty track..Kings throwing away so many points were never likely to get a result here..Most improved performance of the day goes to Ref Dale Entwistle after his terrible performance last monday at Kent when he threw the rule book out of the window...Classy gating gave Ben Morley a 17 point haul inc a tactical ride ..Danny Ayres finally came good following Ben home for a 5-1 in heat 15 after throwing away points going to wild and needs to calm down a bit to improve his points tally of 9 .Rye is just not James Shanes, track he is not so effective round here but still battled hard for 6 points ..Basby was disapointing and looked slow 3 points,,Danno Verge had one moral boosting win but the bottom end continues to be the Kings big weakness and without improvements results will be hard to come by...Raiders were well worth there win score 52-40 and i was particuarly impressed with Alfie Bowtel..Rob Branfords usuall dominence round here was let down by his gating today, but Raiders had the strength in depth that is so lacking in the Kings side at the moment and with an almost total lack of possible replacements we will have to hope the rookies have at least some improvement in them but time is not on our side..

Kent Kings V Birmingham Brummies 1/6/15 Cgnl

Robolots since you ask for observations on Jamie,, i have noticed he sits a long way back on the bike making it more likely to lift if throttle is applied more strongly and i think he would have more confidence to go faster if he adjusted his weight a little further forward ..You can not ride these modern bikes in the style of the great Jack Young of years ago. I would be interested in your thoughts on this,,I think he is going ok for his limited expierience,,just looking at a possible way he could improve.. -
£15 is a lot of money to pay for a National league meeting especially as they pay the riders peanuts !!

Worst ive seen this season Dale Entwhistle at Kent v Birmingham last monday Broke the rules and made up his own as he went along, appalling should be struck off ,or go back for more lessons and a test on the rule book....Where do they find these people??

A disaster from the word go for the Kings tonight. To start with ref Dale Entwistle decided to dispense with the rule book and make up his own rules,,Did not award race 1 AFTER 4 LAPS AS IS THE RULE,BEN SHED A CHAIN ON LAP 5 he then warned Ellis 3 times for rolling starts but failed to put him 15 mtrs back ???.. Then the track was flooded early in the meeting why ??? which had a far greater effect on the kings lower order Than the Brummie boys.. +plus i must say Danny Ayres as well was all over the place tonight,,Ben sheds another chain on the start line..Kings riders falling every where ,with the meeting running away from us..Then along comes James Shanes to produce the best ride i have ever seen in 3 seasons at Kent coming from the back to pass Adam Ellis (who should be almost unbeatable in front at this level ) Flying by off the last bend at blinding speed,,,!! brilliant!!!..Things finally came good for Ben Morley in heat 15 when he blasted round Ellis on the second bend to win by a distance ..Having said all that, Birmingham were worthy winners coping with track conditions better than at least half the kent team,,who remain very weak at thee bottom end..But where are replacements to come from ???? -

So who is guesting for Ellis ? ..Do not think Ben has a new average yet which could be over 10 points .needs one more meeting i believe so we could have a temporary new no 1 on monday, , can anyone confirm that? Danny perhaps ?.. -
I too was standing on the back straight a little in front of the line and i thought it looked from that angle that Adam had won.. But ..the ref Barbara Horley, and i am one of her biggest critics,, has the best view in the stadium right on and over the top of the line looking down and you have to respect that decision..Ben had initually come from behind Adam twice to beat him, and it took some great team riding from Nillson to stop him doing it a third time in heat nine..That of course is my opinion others may disagree as is thier right
-
A closely fought match with some excellent races, and a deserved win for the Aces select side.. .On a personal note i was pleased with my grandson, Ben Morley,s performance beating both,Boxall and Ellis twice and making another point on being released by the Hammers this season in favour of Adam Ellis ? ..Dissapointed with A.J,s performance is he worth the probable huge fee he gets,? seems to leave his gating boots abroad... Impressed with Kennet and Nillson and Lawson who was a little unlucky tonight...

Kent V Kings Lynn Bank Holiday Monday 25th May At 3pm

If he fits the average Rob Branford would be the obvious choice especially with the two tracks connection...Unless the Raiders are in action? -

Most of the quick riders fall a lot early in there careers it means they are having a go,, and eventually they go fast without falling,,,think most clubs would swop at least one of their reserves for Kelsey Dugard... -

A sensible 6-30 pm start time at kent would have solved the problem, especially as Bens new average is not yet official ,this will weaken the kings with the riders available.. A Lack of sensible planning again in speedway, when will they learn you can not keep cheating the fans and expect them to keep attending ? Both tracks would have benifitted from that change of start time As some would have gone to both meetings.. Especially Bens many fans,, -

On paper a nothing meeting, but in fact some excellent races, all be it two riders battling at the front some way in front of the two riders battling at the back most of the time ..Some great passes from Ben Morley 12 point max and in forgoing heat 15, giving James Shanes 12+1 from 5 rides, who also made some exciting passes and Danny Ayres 13 from 5 rides the opportunity to max out in the final heat.., This meeting also gave the lower order riders a chance to shine and all three had their moments which can only be good for their confidence. Aaron Baseby was unlucky and was worth more than his 5 points .The improvement in the lower order is not rapid but it is happening .Good efforts from Daryl Richings and Arron Mogridge who is improving fast, for Wimbledon, But Daniel Halsey has yet to hit the form he is capable of so far this season...The track had some fresh shale added this week resulting in improved racing and congratulations are due to Jamie Rutter for the hours he puts in on the track he is a diamond for the promotion an unsung hero in fact ... The crowd was a bit down on normal, but is to be expected being a challenge match... result Kent57 Dons 35 -

Kev the rev the water cart only came out to water the wide outside where what little dirt there was lay,you can not water a slick track devoid of dirt it makes it slippery and dangerous for the riders..
