  1. Connor is the oldest dont think he rides much now ?,Not sure if that challenge match counts that Kelsey rode in ,he has to be 15 to ride in the league,???
  2. Good signing of Brandon Freemantle will give Kent one strong reserve ..I believe if they can now sign Danny Phillips who according to one poster on here, might be difficult to come to terms with,, we would have two, and a team that could challenge for honours..Hope they dont spoil the team by signing a trainee who may not be ready,,We should know soon either way....Kelsey Dugard ?? showed promise and has the pedigree but is he old enough to race in the league ,? not sure on that one ?
  3. Phillips and Freemantle would be good ,, And yes im sure Coles will improve dramatically at Mildenhall,, more because of the track ,than the promotion though with top quality ex riders running the place thats bound to help...He was better round Rye the year before than he ever was at Kent..
  4. I saw Connor Coles ride at Mildenhall last season ,and he looked a better rider there ,than at Kent ,i think it is a good move for him providing he can keep his bikes up to scratch, he should improve his average ,and starting at reserve will also help him ,,He is a nice lad hope he does well
  5. As far as i know the Rye fence has been ordered,.As yet i have not heard anything regarding the fence at Kent ..Sharing is unlikely would you fancy moving it and resetting it up twice a week ,i would be surprised if it was an option . with there being no other sports at Rye it may not have to be moved only deflated...
  6. They may be raiders to a few on here,, but to the vast majority of Kent fans they are riders for Kent..When a rider or riders change track ,which happens reguarly,, they do not take their old track name with them,,they become committed to the new club, and all that entails including their new track name,,Some of the team could feel quite offended if they read this forum,,So lets all come together and support the riders and the promotion,,Alternatively there are other tracks to support if you dont like the way this one is run.....
  7. With the loss of a large percentage of last seasons No 1,s for various reasons ,it will be down to emerging riders to step up to the plate ..At this stage of their carrears some of these youngsters can make rapid progress and by the end of next season i would expect to see some knocking on the door for Premier League places ,and this after all is the main purpose of this league,,there is how ever still a place in a team for an exsperienced rider, to pass on knowledge and in this respect age is no problem any way David Mason is not as old as some people think and is one of the best guys you could have in the pits to help anyone
  8. Presumably they will get the same time as I.O.W to enter the league ..Sponsership is obviously required for it to happen and takes time, ,, so dont give up yet things can change overnight ,But as you say nothing coming out of the meeting yet
  9. Hope the potential new teams could be announced after meeting can see little being sorted without that knowledge in place ,,Hopefully also someone else might apply for the league co-ordinators position it could certainly be improved in my opinion ,,Malcolm ????
  10. Lay off Malcolm guys, he,s a good man, and cant be held responsible for any of stokes problems
  11. Good news for the National League..This could of course have a big effect on riders going to Kent Kings.. We will have to wait for the conference and see what happens,, but nothing is cast in stone including the possibility of other clubs joining the league
  12. If only 6 teams come to tapes this season ,,it maybe twice home and away, wether that would be viable,i dont know ,the alternative no league,, does,nt bare thinking about
  13. But Dean, you were capable of doing your own engines and we all know the huge costs of servicing..You will never stop promoters paying what they think the top riders in any league are worth ,and if it was an enforceable figure they would still find ways round it....You know the old saying ,Win at all cost..well its true....
  14. Paul would make an excellent team manager he was very good with the young riders a few years ago at Lakeside..
  15. No Melgren ?? thought he was supposed to be nailed on,,the team will need a big hitter with all the 5 pointers lined up at the moment ,,,any ideas who that might be ???
  16. Young riders like Ellis and lambert are rarities while it is great to have very young riders of Premier league standard coming into the National League as 3 pointers it does create an imbalance in team strenghts, And i feel they stay as reserves far to long ,,much earlier average changes should be brought in to counter this imbalance there does seem to be one or two of these situations arising on a regular basis and i feel it needs to be addressed ...
  17. It does seem we only get the headlines from the B.S.P.A meetings, and never the complete information people want .. I always get the feeling they do not want the fans to know to much,, especially if they dont really know what they are doing themselves...
  18. Theres a lot of pretty pointless debate going on here,,could we not find something more interesting to talk about,,,zzzzzzzzzzz
  19. We were referring to National league riders not being hobbyists ,,Southern Track riders and other such organisations are amateurs who enjoy the sport at a slower pace,, and some of whom improve, and go on to earn money in the National League..
  20. Have to agree with Garry H ..I know many of the lads in the National league and to a man they all want to become full time professional riders, many wont make it either through lack of funds or find the limit of their ability without getting out of the National League,,injuries will play a part as well But all are looking to achieve success ,they do not go out there risking their necks as a hobby ... WOULD YOU ???
  21. Certainly radical Nikko, but i get your drift...What ever is decided at the meeting i guess it will be down to money and that will vary greatly from the haves to the havenots ,,what ever happens it is surely a crossroads for the sport this winter in general, and i do wonder if the B.S.P.A will be able to pursue a course that is right for the sport and put aside personal interests ..They have to get it right if speedway is going to survive long term in this country ..I do have hope ,,but not to much faith...
  22. Good to see you back Nikko..Debate is of course a matter of differing opinions. and trying to change opinions with reasonable personal views .We all want the best for the club whatever our individual views are and agreeing to disagree is part of that process....
  23. Excellent post from Parsloes, agree with every thing he has said,,some people have been getting paranoid about everyone and every thing connected to Rye House probably one of the most stable clubs in the country..Without whos connection there probably would not have been a Kent Kings this season... I am sure Roger will have been reasonably happy with the way things have gone in the first season.. Now lets start thinking about next year in a positive frame of mind..
  24. Will Charles Wright,s premier average , Bar him from National league speedway next season,??
  25. You have a point Steeplejack the standard of the top end riders in the National league was very high this year ,and the bottom ends mostly very low..Unfortunately this league being what it is ,this is bound to happen...Having said that many teams in the Elite and Premier had the same problem ,and i agree it does not make for good close racing
