Rye V Stoke Part 2 Of Dbl Header 22/09/12
waco replied to BossMan's topic in National League Speedway
Both teams as per the match at Stoke ie, full strenght + Ashley Birks defends his match race title before the meeting against Ben Morley ,,it should start at approx 8pm after the Rockets v Edinborough starts 6pm...Weather forcast is very good A great evenings racing in prospect.... -
Granted,, but then Buxton have not been in contention this season ,,we can only hope that things work out,, so that they are at least running next year
-
Funny its all worked out nicely for the stand alone clubs.....
-
It needs someone to be put in charge of this league with some common sense ,,and will not let this qualification farce happen again next season..
-
i was unaware Stoke might be affected ..i am only interested in a level playing field were the play offs are decided on the track,, not in the office of Mr Morrish Obviously kings lynn are miles behind with their fixtures .so removing those results could be another solution ,,and no ..i have no idea how that would effect Rye Raiders..i just want fairness not a farce...
-
It has to be hoped that a salution can be foundit would be tragedy if Buxton folded, It is unique,,
-
Stoke have already qualified... Exstending till sat would decide on track who deserved to go through out of I.O.W and Raiders It should have been the same CUT OFF date as the Premier League if some one sensible was running the league....
-
Good post 20th century heathen, and i agree with most of it,,Unfortunately i can see some promoters less well supported than Dudley and Mildenhall insisting on a reduction in the points limit if they are to carry on in the National league .We all know this will not produce better racing..Ideally we could do with 10 clubs of the same ilk as Dudley and Mildenhall but that wont happen.so a compromise needs to be reached other wise i fear for the future of this league in its present form...
-
It is a professional sport .,not run in a professional way ,unfortunatly the co- ordinator of this league is in my opinion incompetent..

-
It needs to be extended till sat after the raiders match v stoke to get a fair on track result to the potential qualifiers Please use some common sense Mr Morrish and stop the qualification for the play offs becoming a farce...
-
We agree on something then
-
Sure if thats the way it is now, i want the fairest outcome to the existing format ,,Does not mean that i advocate Play off,s and winner takes all finals ...If the league winners were just that league champions,,then you could have a .play off champs as a seperate competition ,,now that would be fair..Secondly i complained about us sending half a team to take on the mighty Dudley which was a farce..
-
Play off,s .one race winner final s,, none of this is fair,, But promoters think building every thing to a one off winner takes all is good box office..That may be right ,but one thing it is not ,,is fair!!!! Fairness is of no consequence when money is involved ,,Fact of life im afraid...
-
I very much doubt if mr Morrish will move the date to saturday it is far to easy to do . and requires someone with common sense ,,,with a degree of sporting fair play.......
-
Come on kings Lynn make this a double header v I.O.W and Rye Raiders on wed the 19th ,,would draw more fans ,,and make things fair for the play off,s
-
Why cant the cut off date be moved so that we get the right top 4 in the play offs .The co-ordinater is a joke who makes the league a farce ,,this is not the first year this has happened,,,rant over..
-
Superb win from the Raiders 41-48. All 4 points,, makes a mockery of the rediculous cut off date for the play offs.. This league is run very poorly .. Sarjeant and Garrity, just brilliant,, with solid back up from Morley and another great display from young Connor Coles ... Bit of an off afternoon for Birks ,It,happens.. Well done to all the team....Apparently ive just heard Raiders have moved into 4th place in the league ,does that mean we might have a chance of qualifying for the play off,s now ??. Any one know the permutations ??? Raiders have 2 matches left..to race ,,,which won,t count.

I think Len is made of tougher stuff than the Newport promotion.. ,, But i get your point,,its a hard one to fathom...

Rye House V Scunthorpe - Saturday, September 15th (7pm)

]So do i ,,the standard of riders in this league has never been higher yet with one or two exceptions the fans do not support it in sufficient numbers..Looks like there will be withdrawls next season ..Hopefully there may be the possibility of a couple of new tracks coming in,,But these too would need to be financially viable..worrying? -
I think it will take a winning team and some modernisation in presentation to get the fans back at Rye..To be fair bad luck has been a major problem this season,,,,But when support has been lost it is difficult to get back without a complete revamp of ideas ..Here,s hoping ?
-
Hope the forcast rain holds off to allow this meeting to take place before the cut off date,.which again taking into account this summers weather is rediculously early ,giving the Raiders and others little chance of qualifying for the play offs I have long been unimpressed by the co-ordinater of the national league..Raiders will be at full strenght,,though Jason Garrity blew both his engines last night,, but i guess he will find something to ride .Good luck to all the riders this afternoon..

Comfortable win for the Raiders 52-39.James Sarjeant 14 from 5,,,,Ben Morley 12+1 from 5 led the scoring,,Connor Coles continues to impress with a battling 10+3 from 6....Jason Garrity was flying but 2 blown engines made tonight an exspensive return to racing..6 from 4 ,,Shane Hazelden 5+3 from 4 ,,Luke Chessle 3 from 4 and Danno Verge 2 from 3 completed the scoring....For Scunny Tom Young started well but two unlucky engine failures cancelled out Garritys problems ..Garry Irving was solid with 10 from 5 ,,and Max Clegg looks one for the future with 6 from 5..Guest Lewis kerr had a win but other wise dissapointing ..An entertaining meeting,, Sarjeants pass off the last bend on Tom Young being the highlite.... -

With the return of Jason Garitty i would expect the Raiders to reverse the result they had at Scunny recently . Ben.Morley and James Sarjeant normally fly round Rye,, Shane Hazelden who has not had much racing recently and Luke Chessle should also pick up good points and rookie Connor Coles is making excellent progress each week.. For Scunny Garry Irving is a top rider at this level,,but may not class Rye as being one of his favourite tracks ,.Tom Young has made great strides this season and is going to be a big threat,,Guest Lewis Kerr is capable of beating anyone but perhaps lacks a little consistancy..I was impressed with Max Clegg around Scunny but i am not sure if he has ridden at Rye before ,it should be interesting ,,so why not come along this evening,,The Raiders and indeed the National league needs more support .
