  1. Pretty sure he doesn't know and just winding a certain person up! Before Christmas, there were certainely 3 riders all of 6.0 - 6.2 average lined up, verbal agreements at different points, annoucements created (I saw them) but all give backword for various different reasons. (Longtrack, Poland Div 1, Retirement) I'd imagine that this is where the plans come unstuck. It's not easy to build a brand new side with no asset base, and they've done rather well to get exciting young riders in to create that asset base. As for the 7th rider, no idea. It's tight lipped, regular people around the club don't know either. Hopefully there is some exciting news on Saturday. The people of West Cumbria are excitied to see speedway back and it will probably show on Saturday with a big turnout for a practice session!
  2. An EFL iFollow stream is basically one camera synced up with local BBC radio commentary. It’s not comparable coverage at all, £10 for that is basically a con
  3. He often hasn't raced in early season meetings in the past either, nothing new there. He gave an interview in last weeks Speedway Star about wanting a Premiership place and about his off season, i'm sure everything is fine.
  4. Yep, absolutely chucking it down here! We have a full season ahead of us to look forward to! On a positive note, it may just mean a bigger crowd on opening day for the Border Trophy.
  5. Certainly not a farce, if you’ve been down there you would know that. The place is flooded, it would have been a farce had it gone ahead. One bright blue cold morning does not dry out a months worth of rain. Maybe some work to level out the affected areas like the pits gate will take place, but they can’t do anything at once.
  6. Yeah it’s a big shame, still get to see some action next weekend with the P&P day on Sat 23rd at 12pm
  7. Yep, seems to be only signed up in Denmark for Vojens, and for Vetlanda in Sweden. No Polish club. Would fit on a 6.20 average, probably already been enquired about, maybe it's a no?
  8. Tractor Shed do the best lager to be fair, available all over Cumbria too. Will be sure to go down well with the locals Workington Town have had special beers named after current players and legends made for a good few years now, and the brewery can hardly keep up with the demand. Probably where the idea has came from. Maybe we will see a special run of 'Stoney's Steel Shoe' https://www.townshop.co.uk/product-page/buffers-boot-pilsner-lager
  9. Kyle Howarth doing the Ben Fund meeting too, he said so himself on the Humans of Speedway podcast. Don’t think they’ve announced that yet though
  10. Yeah Kyle Howarth was there riding, looked to be a lot of vans down there
  11. Latest Cumbria Crack article is reporting that the 7th rider will be named very soon, who knows maybe tomorrow? https://cumbriacrack.com/2024/02/15/you-can-help-workington-comets-soar-in-championship/
  12. Hopefully there will be online ticket sales for this one, and save people from being turned away
  13. Yep great interview, some great insights around the lease on the track and a low break even figure. Final rider isn’t actually signed but sounds like many options in the pipeline and Steve pretty much confirms Josh Auty was going to sign then retired! And current GP riders in the Ben Fund Exciting times! https://m.soundcloud.com/cumbria-crack/steve-lawson
  14. Hopefully not too long before the 7th rider is revealed Also we were told to expect news from the SRBF on the line up for the Ben Fund meeting in the new year, wonder which riders are lined up?
  15. Agreed, I think Pearson will average 6+ and be nowhere near reserve. Complin will probably kick on near a 5 point average with his home form especially. Not sure about Ace after watching him last season there are better 2.00 riders out there this season. But Glasgow will be certs for the play offs imo.
  16. Unless it's a former Comet from 2017, who is actually now a sponsor. No chance of that
  17. I don't KNOW anything, infact Auty just annnounced his retirement! - https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/auty-calls-it-a-day/ Quite a few people on here had mentioned he was coming back so i'm surprised he's now officially retired
  18. Must be a long long time ago now? Wasn't it about 2012 that happened The Comets fans soon forgave Andre Compton when he signed
  19. No idea, doesn't seem to be any real criteria set in the rulebook other than
  20. Think Auty will be the last signing on an injury reducted average to fit under the 6.32 left, we will see. Hopefully they'll announce the final rider in the next few days.
  21. No chance surely, leaving 10.07 left for a Number 1?
