  1. This is the team I'd like to see, purely based on Riders I like and that I think would be available, nothing else. Who knows what will happen, but it's exciting times to be a Comets fan again! 1. Craig Cook 2. Alfie Bowtell 3. Tom Brennan 4. Connor Bailey 5. Steve Worrall 6. Luke Harrison 7. Sam McGurk 37.22 Steve Worrall did actually sign for the Comets for 2019, which never happened.
  2. Yeah there is loads of constant overnight rain forecast on the Met Office radar, so probably not looking good. I know there is an open practice session on this Sunday, so doubt that would get moved with riders already booked in Reds match looking in doubt too, they've posted about monitoring the overnight forecast. So probably tells how much rain it's put down
  3. Any interest or chance of this one going ahead, or will the track already have taken too much water, the weather is awful here today. I note Luke Crang is down at reserve for this one with his new average of 3.62, That's 2 riders who have managed to drop 4 points off their average this season!
  4. I'm sure this worked last season with the old 'app' but it certainly doesn't work anymore, would be one of the best features if it can be returned. Edit - seems to work on the older streams, but not the recent ones. I guess it's no good for people wanting to watch straight after the broadcast has ended
  5. I see there's no word on the Kent Home meeting or the re-staging of the NLDRC yet? Didn't expect to be running into October speedway at Northside this year.
  6. Connor is riding tomorrow, r/r for Sam McGurk and Dayle Wood guesting for Ace Pijper
  7. The lad has progressed amazingly this season, I believe he will be an Ekstraliga regular in the future. He rides attacks tracks and rides outside lines others won’t in Britain Not a given that he’ll be riding next week though and miss the NLRDC I believe Woffy and Janowski are both still aiming to be back
  8. I guess we might not be seeing Connor Bailey again this season, he's been added to Wroclaw's main squad for the Play-off final, wow! Judging by his Instagram, he's been out practicing on Woffy's machinery ahead of this weekend, not bad for a NDL rider!
  9. Admission Prices: Adults: £15 Children: £2 Family: £32 (2 Adults + 3 Children)
  10. What a response, can always rely on this forum for a good laugh I must apologise that I'm responsible for the sport being on it's knees in this country. Being a British rider or when the fixture was resheduled has zero relevance to the FIM calendar You know this collaborative effort between the British, Polish, Swedish, Danish orgs. which has been around for like ever. It's not all made up as you go along, as some people will have you believe!
  11. Sick of comments like this, this forum and things like 'Speedway Friends' on FB are full of them, constantly driving negativity based on uneducated comments. If you actually sat back and understood how things like this work, maybe you'd learn a thing or two. Wroclaw signed Charles about 4 weeks ago as squad cover for the play offs. Redcar will have been well aware this scenario could happen All licensed speedway authorities adhere to the FIM international speedway calendar. Poland have priority over GB on Sundays, especially that Redcar-Glasgow is a re-arranged fixture. Simple as that! Incredible opportunity for Charles to ride in front of a full Olympic stadium on the biggest stage of the sport.
  12. Nope, he's replacing Woffinden for Wroclaw, riding in Polish Extraliga play-off SF.
  13. Team news for this weekend's 3 meetings on the road. Harry McGurk statement is here
  14. Only the grandstand is open for the NDL meetings, back straight is closed
  15. Jacob Hook guests for Pearson, and Luke Killeen for Sam Hagon. I’m assuming it’s R/R for Ace as we’ve got Callum Foy as no.8.
  16. First ever visit to the NSS for the Comets and 23 years since Workington and Belle Vue met. Looking forward to this one, hopefully Connor Bailey can score a Max around his 'home' circuit. Just saw on the new Declarations that Paul Bowen has left the Colts with Jack Shimelt replacing. Expecting Ace to be riding for Glasgow, or could be injured from his crash last night at Poole. Pearson and Hagon will be riding for Plymouth/Birmingham. Expecting teams to look like: Colts 1. Guest or R/R for James Pearson 2. Matt Marson 3. Guest or R/R for Sam Hagon 4. Freddy Hodder 5. Jack Smith 6. Jack Shimelt 7. Luke Muff Comets 1. Connor Bailey 2. Sam McGurk 3. Luke Harrison 4. Luke Crang 5. Guest or R/R for Ace Pijper 6. Elliot Kelly 7. Harry McGurk
  17. Having the British GP in Manchester would be ideal, Cardiff has run it's course in my opinion. 10,000 tickets would get snapped up straightaway, nothing you can do about the capacity unless it's hosted at a temporary track, Cardiff will never see big numbers of 40+ thousand again anyways. SGP2 could be hosted on the Friday night, with a Sunday 12pm start reserved in case of a rain off. A large fanzone could still operate at the Etihad Campus (good transport links to Manchester city centre) for people wanting to make a weekend or day of it. With ample space for Park and Ride to the NSS, just like they had for the SWC in 2016
  18. The 9pm call came on the exact night of his 21st Birthday, no previous inclination that he might be invited to ride. Can't sit around waiting for what if's
  19. It doesn’t no, it gives one half of the story, and throws Connor under the bus. Typical of the previous nonsense that has been spouted by Vatcher and the GB setup in the past. Here’s the true dignified other half of the story which I always believed would come out… https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=786236593502653&id=100063489579982 “Having recently become U21 British Champion and riding as well as I ever have, it’s very disappointing that I haven’t been offered a reserve spot at the upcoming Cardiff SGP. Furthermore, I feel I need to directly address the statement made by British Youth boss Neil Vatcher on the official British Speedway website earlier today, where it quoted Mr Vatcher as saying the following: “British Under-21 Champion Connor Bailey was also amongst the riders considered; however, after he turned down opportunities to represent Great Britain in the recent FIM Speedway of Nations 2, and to ride in the British Final, the decision was taken to select Anders and Jason. For clarity, I was asked to be the reserve at SoN 2 behind Dan Gilkes and Anders Rowe, both of whom I had beaten to the U21 title a couple of weeks earlier. Aside from the logistical and commercial challenges of getting to Latvia, riding at reserve would not have guaranteed that I saw much action. Regarding my invite to participate in the British Final, this invite was received at 9PM the night before the event, when I was away celebrating my 21st Birthday. Up until this point no one had mentioned to me that I might be considered for a spot in main lineup of the final. Had I had more notice of this, I would have jumped at the chance! It saddens me greatly that these two instances appear to have brought into question my commitment to speedway and have impacted my chances of taking one of the reserve spots at the Cardiff SGP in what would have been an incredible experience. Meanwhile, I would like to wish Anders and Jason the best of luck at the event.”
  20. Just as I expected Connor misses out on being a track reserve at Cardiff - https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/cardiff-line-up-complete/ Vatcher's lovechild's Rowe and Edwards selected ahead of the British Under 21 Champ Would be better off going to represent Australia and focusing on developing in Wroclaw than dealing with that clown
  21. At the track now, it’s dry and patches of blue sky here. Not sure what damage will be done to the track though!
