  1. Is NKI available for this fixture or does it clash with a Danish meeting?
  2. The presence of Darcy Ward (and his after match chat), good visiting team, holiday makers and the Poole faithful will ensure a large crowd who should be treated to a close meeting. Wolves good enough for a point this time round.
  3. Would like to get the official SGP badges for Cardiff 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012. If you can help with any of these please send DM (with picture if possible). Many thanks.
  4. Polish U21 pairs this Friday (I think). If so, will Kacper be in Poland or at Brandon? And if he's absent who will step in?
  5. If this is true it will have to be R/R as you can't get a guest for a second string.
  6. Good cover for Kyle Newman looks very limited. Advantage Bees.
  7. From a purely personal point of view, turning the popemobile right to Sittingbourne rather than left to the northbound Dartford Tunnel on a Friday night would be very welcome.
  8. Result here: www.live.espeedway.pl/race_detail.php?id=4848
  9. I'm told both of Poole's EDR expect to make it from Premier League afternoon meetings, as will Charles Wright who will stand in for Auty so at this point expected teams are: Lions - Doyle, Masters, Walasek, Wozniak, Swiderski, C Wright, Neilson Pirates - Holder, North, Watt, Gomolski, Janowski, Starke, Newman Still think this is a home win by 10.
  10. Lots of racing before this one gets under way. Be interesting to see how Doyle, Holder & Janowski handle the GP. Got to hope Poole are competitive but would quite understand if they were to concentrate on there last two home fixtures. Are Newman & Starke doing Premier League in the afternoon before this one? Who will cover for Auty? At this stage I'll go for a home win by 10.
  11. I accept the weakness at the EDR positions for Lakeside, however the Pirates away form / results have been poor in recent meetings and on a technical track I can see no reason why the home 1 to 5 cannot outscore the visiting 1 to 5 so it's a home win for me.
  12. I was in the Winchester diocese and went over to watch this match. Very healthy attendance (couldn't get the 'Popemobile' in the regular car park!) on a well prepared track. Some great racing, plenty of incident and controversy but a rather sad end with young Sarjeant coming off. Good to hear that he's not too bad. Poole were worthy winners but hats off to Chris Harris, Jason Garrity and Daniel King for battling well for the Bees. Three observations a) I think in heat 7 Joonas was clearly unhappy with Chris Holders starting position but dealt with his frustration in the best way by popping out clean and taking a win. On the James Sarjeant issue in heat 4, it was clear from the speed at which he approached the tapes that James had no intention of listening to the referee's instuction via the start marshall, however instead of the marshall stepping away and giving feedback to the referee away from the tapes on his microphone, he got involved in an unnecessary 'war of words' that went on for over 30 seconds and ultimately contributed to the kick out from James at the end of the heat. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think Micheal Breckon (referee) needed to be stronger with both parties when the verbal exchanges and pointing didn't stop quickly. c) The unsavory cheers by a few home fans(?) towards Sarjeant at the time of his fall and when the ambulance appeared were disgusting - one day those individuals may like to reflect on the suffering of fellow man.
  13. I was writing Sunday's sermon yesterday evening and as I typed thoughts about 'a camel passing through the eye of a needle' my mind was taken to tonights meeting between these two great clubs where 'passing' should be applauded and 'needle' must be avoided. As to the camel, well I think I will liken this to the losing team manager as he will certainly have the hump. To all of you going or participating, have an enjoyable and safe evening. And just in case you wondered I favour the Bees 47 - 43.
  14. ''With the new scoring system that helps the home side to score'' Dear GRW, could you explain please. Sorry if I'm missing something.
  15. Sad to report the death of Dave Hunting last Monday. Suffolk based, he was very well known to those in the cycle speedway world as a respected rider, referee and administrator. Also sponsored motor speedway teams / riders in the Ipswich area. Condolences to all affected.
  16. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but for this meeting I checked and it was confirmed cash only admission on the day at the turnstiles which open at 16.00. Exact FIM pricing on the Poole website. I have been told that Poole Season Pass holders have been able to reserve their usual main stand seat in advance but still have to pay cash on the day. So if your preference is for a seat, get down to Poole early and start/join the queue. The speedway office also told me that the Stadium car park doubles as a shoppers car park on a Saturday so spaces will be at a premium - I don't envy the car park attendants trying to control outgoing shoppers and incoming speedway folk on Wimborne Road. Blessed are the Peacemakers (Matthew 5:9) in the form of Dorset Constabulary whose new building is in exactly the right place at the car park entrance! Otherwise I think it will be a public car park in the town centre or at the train station. Oh and remember riders parade at 18.15 and first race 18.30. Let us hope for fine weather, good organisation and great racing.
  17. Just on the way to the Vatican via Heathrow and passed the prodigal son returning.
  18. Go Kart practice went well tonight for all the lads who took part. No injuries reported although some of the karts now need some tlc! Now for a good nights kip before practice starting at 11.00 tomorrow.
  19. So the restaging of this double header (Rye House & Kings Lynn) takes place this Sunday although now meaningless in terms of the playoffs. The Buccs website says Bournemouth redeclare their side again for this weekend and to try and make a fist of it against Newport in the play off semi. Jerran Hart & Aaron Baseby go out with Jay Herne & Ritchie Worrall coming in - doesn't look like they will hand on their League title without a fight.
  20. Saw the new look Devils at Weymouth last night but didn't see much improvement - no balance in the side. Even heavier top end and even lighter bottom end. So with the Buccs finding a bit of form of late after the arrival of James Brundle it looks like a home win but with some potentially good action in store with the Devils heat leaders. I'm going to try and get over and will be interesting to see if the crowd is any bigger now the school holidays have started and no Pirates this week. Guess both sides will be as they were last night but you might know different.
