  1. This weeks Speedway Star is reporting Colin Pratt as saying that U21 final has been taken away from Swindon and will be held elsewhere in the U.K. as new stadium not now expected to be ready until the end of July.
  2. So Gniezno is off. Kasprzak & Shamek Pawlicki & Wozniak & Miedzinski go through in Rawicz. What happens next?
  3. Is Lewis Kerr still sponsored by the Revolution / Jawa speedway team?
  4. Call me a cynic but I foresee some 'negotiation' with the league administrator to overcome this rule.
  5. Didn't think guests could be used for a second string therefore R/R only.
  6. Kyle Newman reporting on his website injury is much worse than first thought. Possible rotator cuff. If so, that could be season ending. New signing need immediately, but whose free on 6.3?
  7. Bournemouth Echo reporting both Adam and Kyle Newman out of tomorrow's meeting.
  8. Issue 1 of the 2017 green sheets has Adam as fourth in the Wolves averages (thus giving Sam, Kyle and the reserves a RR ride). Newman is fifth in the Poole list allowing Holder and the reserves a RR ride. Slight advantage Wolves.
  9. Message to the Poole promotion. You may have chosen to ignore complaints about the track in the past, or just fiddle round the edges of the problem, but you need to listen to the words of Chris and Darcy from last night and ACT NOW to get the circuit in to a proper condition. Wimborne Road does produce good speedway, but it could be even better if the track issues were sorted once and for all. I would suggest deferring the Coventry challenge on 19 April and get the work done immediately after Good Friday and before the U21's on 26 April.
  10. Things have moved very quickly here because this week's Speedy Star is telling us the management were rejecting change even though the opportunity existed.
  11. Riders introduced to press, sponsors and season ticket holders at 13.00. Public admission from 15.00.
  12. Weymouth's team of guests is currently planned to be Matt Williamson, Kelsey Dugard, Rob Shuttleworth, Mattie Bates, Mark Baseby, Kyle Bickly, Kenny Bowdery. Could change over the next month.
  13. Hearing that Harland Cook has been ruled out of the Warriors - some sort of confusion with his average. A gap now exists for a rider up to 4.04 subject to the NL coordinators agreement.
  14. NT regulations are now contained in the 2017 rule book available on the SCB GB website.
  15. With Lemo involved I would say Fricke is a nailed on certainty.
  16. As I understand it, all three leagues will be using the same race format this season i.e. the format used last year in the Premier & National League and as set out in the racing regulations on the SCB website.
  17. According to Facebook, the vandals were back at Smallbrook last night causing more damage.
  18. You got to feel for the Warriors after all the positives that they have created in the past 12 months. Let's hope they have proper insurance in place, the air fence is in tact and that the police catch / prosecute those responsible for this trespass and vandalism. I believe they will still be taking a stand at the Celebration of Speedway tomorrow so why not go see them and show your support.
  19. Now announced as a National League challenge v Weymouth. Free admission for everyone.
  20. According to this week's Speedway Star, a new car park holding 1000 cars has opened since last years event.
  21. Back to Doug Dearden, I recall him as a grass track rider in the 70's. I believe he ran a motor cycle dealership in the Holbury area of Southampton. The business still exists as Dearden Motorcycles Ltd.
  22. Let's be honest here. A prestige international meeting should be staged at the very best venue that is approved and available. With the very best will in the world, the new Swindon track will only cover the basics at best so to avoid embarrassment / criticism the U.K. authorities should make representations to the FIM now and get the venue reallocated. I'm sure some folks will have already made travel plans - by relocating now there is an opportunity to make changes without too much upheaval.
  23. Does anyone know if Chris Popple will continue as centre green presenter or do you think the new regime will make a change?
  24. Looks like the Islanders have acted quickly to find a replacement for Bryn https://onthewight.com/rob-provides-a-new-voice-for-the-wightlink-warriors/ Big shoes to fill.......good luck to the new guy.
  25. Didn't I read somewhere that the Polish clubs would be running more Saturday fixtures this season. If that's right then Gomolski could be forced to miss several UK fixtures with Gdansk having priority. That would be too much of a risk for the Lions in my view.
