  1. Economy measure in the absence of TV money perhaps......bit like the speculated return to race bibs.
  2. The IOW Facebook page is saying that their centre green Presenter Chris Popple is standing down because of a combination of poor health and logistics. That’s a shame - I quite liked his style - but I assume it will leave a vacancy for someone looking to get involved. Barry Bishop seems to be a reasonable guy so I’m sure he would be happy to receive an approach from anyone interested.
  3. Warriors Facebook showing the signing of Ben Hopwood for 2018.
  4. Unless I’ve missed it, the NL points limit is still to be confirmed. Are the Warriors jumping the gun with these early signings?
  5. Find all the latest Warrior / Wizard / Skid news on social media in the following places Follow on Twitter. @IslandSpeedway @WightWizards @myfirstskid Like and Share on Facebook. Island Speedway’s Wight Warriors Wight Wizards SDL Speedway Team My First Skid Speedway School
  6. IOW Facebook reporting that they plan to run in the SDL in 2018 using riders from their training school.
  7. So can a side use more than one tac sub and will that rider still use black and white helmet?
  8. Looks like Somerset won the award so well done to them and congratulations to the other nominees.
  9. This week’s Speedway Star shows that the IOW have been nominated for a community club award by the WSRA. Hope they win. Glasgow, Somerset and Rye House also nominated. Result at the dinner on 11 November.
  10. Isle of Wight training school is called My First Skid. Has a website and Facebook page with details. Gets very good reviews.
  11. How long before Christina gets a GP? Has regularly proved her worth at FIM events overseas.
  12. Ellis with wrist injury and Bates withdrawn at Glasgow tonight. Neil Vatcher's phone must be white hot at the moment. Hope the boys are OK.
  13. Just back to my mainland base. Bit one sided but given the Cradley team it was understandable. None the less both teams did their best with the wins for Campos and Bailey in heats 5 & 6 the highlights for me. Got to say the IOW club do go the extra mile and put customers first. I saw the announcer who is usually in the referees box go out of his way to escort a visiting couple who were new to the track from the snack bar to the pits. Great customer care and PR just backs up what most people say about the Warriors.
  14. As I'm on the south coast this week, going over for this. Shame the Heathens have run out of time for play offs nevertheless this should be a decent fixture with Island specialists Danny Ayres and Josh Bailey in the visitors line up.
  15. Yes, good signing but after yesterday's near disaster, the four in four coming up are far more important at the moment. Do we expect Luke and Danno to be fit for the southern tour?
  16. Think semi final first legs 11 September with second legs a week later. Happy to be corrected if wrong.
  17. If it goes ahead I would have thought Poole will be the same as Monday and Lynn would be full strength other than reserve where they might need to cover Simon Lambert.
  18. Rye might be better to use RR for Bomber and given his showing last week Aces might plump for Lasse to guest for Stevie.
  19. Where will Stevie W and Bomber be? Belle Vue or Peterborough?
  20. Sorry if I have missed this elsewhere, but are there any convenient Polish meetings the day after the Lublin meeting?
  21. There is an awful lot of racing to take place between now and Monday night. Who knows what the final line ups will look like.
  22. But this is the National League so almost anything goes if your face fits.
