  1. I expect Poole to be strong at home this season, but Oxfords top 3 should avoid a drubbing. Pirates 51 - 39 Cheetahs
  2. Should have been raced last season. As soon as the play-off final was announced at a neutral venue - should have doubled up as the Trophy final!
  3. I also never said Edinburgh had a dissapointing season in 2022, if anything I think they over achieved. I was commenting on 5 the riders in the 2023 squad. I guess every team has to make the play-offs their priority, especially as it only required you finishing 6th out of 9. I'm sure Glasgow only have one goal (winning) after coming close very often. Question though, did Glasgow finish 2nd in the league? They didn't make the final!
  4. Bagpuss pretty much says what I was meaning. For example was Cook happy he's dropped from a 9.02 average to 8.45? Considering he finished 2019 on 10.18 I'm sure he wanted his average to go the other way. Castagna had pre-season interviews where he suggested he'd be unbeatable at home - surely he can't be happy dropping his average from 5.52 to 4.93? Fredriksen & Hook both finished below their 4.00 assessed averages, surely that's dissapointing? Finally Bickley, despite scoring well in the NL got dropped by two Championship teams, as his Champ average dropped below 3.00 for the first time since he left Workington. I'm not saying none of them deserve a chance, just that Monarchs hopes are based on them improving!
  5. I'll go for Colts 50 - 40 Bullets. Freeman should do well for Berwick, but expect Belle Vue's reserves to far outscore Berwick's.
  6. Nope, I thought he was a good signing too!
  7. Actually that was in 2017 when he moved from Poole. Wasn't reserve in 2018, just rode well to get an 8.0 average. Which is why I'm surprised by his current form!
  8. Because he was signed on a 6.9 average. If he did well they'd have an 8.0 rider, if he was poor they'd have a 6.0 rider. I don't think Lynn expected KK to be as poor as he has been so far!
  9. I think it's safe to say Edinburgh's team has 5 riders who were dissapointing in 2022, obviously the club are hoping they can improve!
  10. To take 6 or 7 rides, he's have to replace Sedgmen & one of the top 4 (or go in heat 15). Even if he rides well 5 rides is the most he will get imo
  11. Tough one to judge, I'd expect Lynn riders to prefer this track to Wolves, but Sheffield look a very strong team, it's hard to see anyone bettering Belle Vue's score!
  12. I know it's early days, but I think Poole have virtually clinched their semi final spot already. The northern clubs will be pleased with this result too, win your 2 home matches & there's a good chance of being the best performing 2nd place team!
  13. Which could have then been paid 3 if Killeen didn't get an ef in heat 4! Regardless one dissapointing match doesn't mean he's in for a bad season.
  14. I don't get the reaction to Worrall scoring 4 points in his first match, he's a 6 point rider - sometimes he will score 4 (or 5-8). As you pointed out Worrall scored double KK, he even equalled KK & Klindt's scored combined!
  15. 1) I was more referring to the fact that even the day of / day after his crash many were suggesting Nicki would quit Peterborough. 2) That article reads as speculation to me, as you point out no sources listed
  16. I don't get the point you are making here, Worrall has been signed as a second string (he's 4th in the averages) regardless of where he is positioned in the team - the top 3 don't have to ride at 1,3&5. The team manager then puts the riders where he thinks it will benefit the team. If Worrall riding at 3 hurts the team in heat 12, surely Basso counters that in heat 14?
  17. Nicki has had multiple bad injuries in recent years, despite not riding in GB. Why do people think after one crash, he'll stop riding over here?
  18. Almost sounds like Poland will come up with a rule with the best intentions, the rule gets mis-used so it gets dropped. In GB that rule would likely be kept (Kennett injury rule) as promoters want to take advantage of it (except the Lambert rule).
  19. April averages are out & Lidsey moves to reserve. Belle Vue should be very potent as long as Lidsey is at reserve.
  20. I preferred it when the top 2 averaged riders had to be at 1+5 (either was round), guaranteed the top 4 riders (statistically) would be in heat 13 - good for the fans!
  21. I'm not sure you can trust the stats page. I'm sure Iversen started out with 0 0 0 0, but now has a 6 match rolling ave. My understanding of the rules is TJ will use his 2021 Champ matches for his rolling ave. Another example of the stats page being incorrect is Flint, Etheridge & Coles having 19 or 20 match rolling aves, but every other team (except Oxford) has riders on 10 match rolling aves.
  22. With Edinburgh having a strong top 2, I'd definitely have them at 1&5, with the target being to get heat advantages in heats 13&15 home & away. I may have considered putting Paco or Hook at 3 with Thomsen at 4, if you're expecting Basso to beat both of them, use Kye in heat 14, where he's more likely to get the race win!
  23. There can't be anything wrong with that rule, otherwise they would have changed it for 2023. The majority of the promoter's must judge it an acceptable situation for a rider to get injured in his first match & be allowed guests for the rest of the season!
  24. So it's been the Premier Trophy, Jubilee / Summer Trophy, League Cup, Championship shield maybe? I'm sure one year the KOC had group stages too!
