Wolves v Peterborough 1st May 23
szkocjasid replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If this was unusual for Speedway I'd agree with you, but it's the norm. Ipswich have a facility for Riss, who's ridden one match, Wolves with Becker & Scunthorpe with Kennedy have facilities for riders who have ridden even less than Pedersen this year! So rather than calling this situation "embarrassing" I'd say it's "normal" (for British Speedway) -

Why, they have good guests , as allowed by the rules, so should be competitive -
Interesting that despite Sheffield's strong start to the season, four out of the five riders who have new averages have gone down (not by much though)!

I'll go for Ipswich 49-41 King's Lynn The stars top 6 "should" have the beating of the Witches bottom 3, so could be close till heats 13&15. -

Two teams with no guests or r/r! Belle Vue 51 - 39 Leicester -
But if a rider is last in 90% of his races, he's not really "developing" is he?

I'm sure when the first fit a 28 day facility they announced, they could apply for another 28 days once it finishes? Wether they are allowed is another question? -

Berwick are not out of the BSN yet, although it would take a miracle for them to qualify! -

Berwick have only ONE match in May, so there's not much to worry about just now! -

Unless they get another 28 day facility? -

But would you be willing to pay double the admission fee so these riders can afford to give up one of their teams? -
Nearly a month? That's a short time in Speedway!

Think I would have moved Harris to 5, can see Morris struggling there! -

The way Berwick's team was built it clearly weakens them using r/r for Knudsen. Nothing they can do about it though as it's their only option. Just need the top 4 to all be firing. -

szkocjasid replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If they knew in advance, I'm surprised they didn't try & race this match on another date as there's plenty spares. If it was late notice then I can understand not changing the fixture. However even with Knudsen Berwick were never going to claw back 16 points, so no harm in him missing this one. -

I think he's clearly the top 2 point rider in the league right now -

I thought the same thing, as Jorgensen had win his first ride, why give Flint the extra ride? -

It's not "winner takes all" in the superheat, 2 points for a winning-draw and 1 point for a losing-draw -
Edinburgh vs Oxford. KOC 2nd leg. 28th April

Edinburgh should win this, but no chance over two legs, Masters & Nicholls alone will score a bundle. -

Glasgow would win the group on points difference -
Clegg's average shot up when Newcastle's fixtures were removed, same thing happened to Matthew Wethers, making them both virtually unemployable!

A "draw" will be enough for Glasgow to win the group, so I think they're pretty safe!
