Official final averages haven't been published yet. Main interest is to see if they are removing Newcastle matches?

"Once Jorgensen has had one match he'll revert to a rolling ave from 2021" A riders most recent average is used, for Jorgensen that would be his 2022 Prem ave. But once he rides for Berwick they will then use his rolling ave. I'm theory he could get a new ave after one match (as would his teammates), but only if they ride before a monthly cut-off (23rd). If Berwick's first league match was on 24th March, riders wouldn't get a new rolling ave until 1st May!

Would be a sensible signing.

I'm starting to think they just don't like Jorgensen, because I was pointing out what I thought were sensible replies to the not wanting TJ comments, but getting less logical replies lol!

2 x 2.00 riders could work if you have a strong top end. However I wouldn't call Jorgensen, Schlein & Flint a particularly string top end (I'd be expecting 2 of them to drop their averages).

Not sure if I've ever heard of that regulation. Who decides on wether a rider warrants a re-assesed average? Crump didn't get a large reduction, Complin got a bigger reduction - so it kinda looks like it's a "just make up the new averages" policy? Also Jakobsen will be using his 2018 ave in 2023, so I guess the rules can't say averages HAVE to be reassessed, just CAN be reassessed?

Don't really understand that logic, when Jorgensen's got a higher average than for example: Richie Worrall, Kyle Howarth, Lewis Kerr, Justin Sedgmen, Steve Worrall, Scott Nicholls, Hans Andersen, Troy Batchelor, Ben Barker, Aaron Summers, Ulrich Ostergaard, Cameron Heeps, Paul Starke etc. If Jorgensen's ave is rubbish? How bad are the rest of these riders? If they are not worth team places, how are teams gonna find 7 riders each?

In normal cases I'd agree with you, when someone says they wouldn't take Harris on an 8.00 average, I think "but that's how good he is". But in Lawson's case the 10 match rolling ave makes a big difference. His seasonal average was 6.75, so that's how I rate his ability. But he finished with a far higher 7.91 ave. As Pickering has a higher Champ ave than Lawson teams may think he has more to give in the Prem, so he looks good on a 6.14 ave.

I'd have to disagree, his home & away split is fairly close (6.71 / 5.70).

If the points limit is 40.00 then there's 10.76 left for the final 2.

It's only complicated when trying to do your absolute best to become champions, within the rules. It's the sort of thing Poole would do, which is why they are so successful! It wouldn't be breaking any rules, but if Poole did it people wouldn't be happy lol!

I think the averages are used as an excuse when a club wants to drop a rider. If Glasgow really wanted to they could have kept Connor Bailey.

One option for Berwick would he to sign 2 x 2.00 reserves (Stoneman & Pijper) and build to the points limit. Once Jorgensen has had one match he'll revert to a rolling ave from 2021, which could give Berwick 2 points to play with to strengthen up at reserve. However after 2 matches Jonas Knudsen will get a 6+ ave & they'll only have one point to play with? Gotta be clever with fixtures here, race the 1st league match on 22nd March & Jorgensen will get a new ave on 1st April. Then race a couple of KOC fixtures so Knudsen doesn't get a new ave straight away!

The attraction of Complin is because he's well past his best & has a low average. To sign him at his best would mean signing him as a heat leader & not a reserve

That would make no sense to me. They already have 3 heat leaders & possibly will need to drop 1. Why would they look for a returning heat leader?

It will be useful to see the final averages published, as Starke would have a far higher ave if the Newcastle matches are removed!

Still waiting for the final averages to be published. But should also affect Starke, James Wright & Clegg who didn't ride 10 league matches after leaving Newcastle. Also puts Wethers back on his 6+ season starting average
