Birmingham v Ipswich KOC June 3rd
szkocjasid replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is that allowed, I thought they had to use a RS guest to replace a missing RS? -
Scunny are so strong at home r/r will be fine, away from home would suggest guests would be better.
-
BSPA / SCB can't do that, all they can do is give Covatti a 28 day ban for withholding his services, which allows Plymouth to use a guest. Once 28 days is up, they'd only be allowed a 75% guest if Covatti doesn't return. This is not a similar situation to Kennett, he got injured in the first match & they used a guest all year (as allowed by the regulations - can't blame Plymouth for that) this is different as Covatti is riding elsewhere but not for Plymouth, so more like the Laguta situation imo

I saw Tate for the first time at Redcar & thought he's one of the most exciting riders I've seen in years. Thrilling to watch.

Redcar v Glasgow, 2nd tier comp, 1/6/24, 5:00 pm

Would that mean Flint being the second heat leader then? -
As this is someone using their own stats, I think it's correct to point out they have missed a rider. That's a bit different to saying Tate shouldn't be that low etc.

Why would they be a "mercenary guest" they get asked to ride & agree to do it, what's wrong with that? -

Are you contradicting yourself here, you say the only rider Pawlicki would replace is Flint, but also say you wouldn't put Lampart in heat 13 when Pawlicki was available. So if Pawlicki is preferred over Lampart in the r/r spot, why wasn't he preferred over Lampart in one of Lampart's heats? I certainly would have told Pawlicki he was needed in heat 14 before heat 13, then decide if he could manage 4 on the trot, but I wouldn't have used Flint. We may have to agree to disagree on this one. -

That's no excuse, as soon as it was obvious Pawlicki was on form, Ermolenko should have been planning to use him early, so he wouldn't get 4 on the trot later. Another option would be using Lampart in heat 13 as r/r to give Pawlicki a rest, then use Pawlicki in heat 14. Flint wouldn't have needed a 4th ride. -
The last 3 Leicester away meetings, I've thought the home team was either struggling with injuries or looked weak, yet Leicester can't seem to take advantage of this? I know the match isn't over, but with Kerr perhaps not fully fit, Masters on his "home track" and Cook at reserve, I expected far more from Leicester.

Especially now MPT is injured. -
Kings Lynn v Sheffield 6/6

Indeed, it makes it a very interesting fixture, Sheffield's heat leaders expected to dominate, while Lynn's reserves should dominate the bottom end of the team. They just need a good guest for MPT. Has Chris Holder ridden at Lynn since he got dropped (after the transfer deadline)? -

That's not a bad idea, an RS reserve to go at 7. I'd support that. -

I don't know the rules, but once a programme has been printed, I don't think teams should be allowed to alter the riding order. Besides with all riders able to get an r/r outing no harm with r/r being at 5. If Pawlicki is a star reserve he could replace riders in any heat (except Flint in heat 8) doesn't need a r/r outing to get 7 rides. Edit - it shouldn't matter if you have an on the ball team manager, ready to make changes depending who is on form. -

On another post it was suggested to me that if Edwards was dropped by Sheffield he couldn't sign for another club as a RS as he had "given that up for the season" how true that is, I don't know? -

I questioned that on FB. I got the impression Edwards is no longer a RS after he wasn't used as one for Sheffield? -
Plymouth vs Poole BSN 25th May PP Now 1st June
szkocjasid replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nothing wrong with that yet I've had days when I'm not fit to work, but went back the following day. It does mean, if Covatti doesn't ride in Plymouth's next match he should get a 28 day ban. -
Yeah, that's gotta be a mistake, surely?

Any comments on "waste of space / waste of time" Gilkes after he scored 6 away & 8+1 at home?
-
Once he stopped the race, I agreed with the re-run, can't give a team the benefit if the doubt if their rider fell. BUT he probably didn't need to stop the race, doesn't affect the match, just Wright's pay packet.
-
Refs done the complete opposite now, out the red lights on immediately when Zischke fell, while it did look bad, he was quickly up & cleared the track. Had the ref waited for half a laptop see if he was moving, may have made a different decision.
-
I guess if a track staff member was that concerned about a riding & put the flag out before the red light, the worst that would happen is losing their no doubt voluntary job.
-
Ref was very slow to put on the red lights in heat 7 when Ablitt fell. Can the track staff just put their flags out of they think the refs not doing his job properly?
