  1. Oh NO. But who will do the reversing.?
  2. So is that a for, against or possibly a maybe from you, as you seem to have all gates covered.
  3. What a convenient statement. Reality is the fans I am taking about used to take over the area to the front of the Announcers box, and due to their language, swearing, drinking and the mess they left from their brought in food and drink, and child abuse seen they are reported several times and now that group doesn't come. But that's not to say they didn't come. The few fans that do come usually stand with the home crowd and just merge in. I know most of them so I know who are Bears fans.
  4. I actually always stand with regular Bears fans in the second temp stand after being invited to do so. We have some canny banter, winding each other up, but always go back to the same place next time. It's all a laugh.
  5. Quite agree but the select few Bears fans didn't see it that way. I wear my colourful Diamonds jacket everywhere, so stuff anybody who doesn't like it.
  6. I would consider Houggard but he has an average above 6.00, but Rosen is staying retired.
  7. Yes, as the BSPA statement said it was one more step to reduce doubling up. That's the reason for rule.
  8. Been borrowing Diane Abbasus's computer. No way, count the black and white, although after a bit of bother from a select few of the Bears fans, Diamonds fans stopped wearing our colours because of the threats. Even your own fans tell me we give you your highest gate usually, although I think Sheffield did that last year. Incidentally Bears fans bring about 20 to 30 to Brough dependng if they are winning of course.
  9. I can only go one discussions with George English who was a regular MC member on call. MC members might collaborate with other MC members if more information is needed, but I don't think you can pick and mix answers from favoured members.
  10. Doubt that. There is always one member on the MC on standby to give rulings when they are needed.
  11. Like you and Redcar, cos every village has to have one.
  12. Tero at reserve last time with us sometimes scored heat leader scores. He dropped right back when riding for Scunny but declared later he hated the track. Let's hope he returns to his last form with us cos we could win matches because of him. Wilko would not have been on my list, but one thing you can say is he will be trying hard as he doesn't like getting beat. He will be a big score at many tracks, and hope he can master our track to make him a reliable big score at home. We are certainly going to be a strength in depth side this year and it didn't do Recar any harm doing that last year. With 13ish points left will we go with a 6 and a 7, or an 8 and a 5. It will all swivel around if we can find an 8pointer which is the way I hope we can go.
  13. Obviously more than you. Are you a potential sponsor ?
  14. Incidently. Ludde has a super doper GM engine for this year, and is looking for any sort of sponsorship to help him with his expense. Pleased he has got new gear and if anybody would like to join the other sponsors who have so far made a contribution, any addition help would be greatly appreciated. He can be contacted through the club.
  15. Whilst not disagreeing with what you say, it's hardly good for business to keep saying they have no new sponsor. Everyone knows there is a lot going on, and there will still be a lot of frantic work to keep everyone busy, but being expected to report 'bad news' (no sponsor) doesn't really seem to be the right thing to do. Whatever happened to 'in George we trust' and the goodwill that has been built up from previous years. As I outlined in a previous post, despite a lot of difficulties over the years, we managed to do a lot of good things and brought success, so with the recent changes in the management structure surely everyone can see there is lots to do privately, and will want to announce things when they have something to announce.
  16. My involvement started really in 1994 when the consortium of George, Havvy, Bunter didn't have enough to buy out Richard Bailey, and I was asked to join them so the deal could be completed. This I did, but Kevin Wilde the owner didn't want us back in 1995 so at the end of the season all the assets were sold, and I got more back than I put in . So I made the pledge to supporters that I would put that money to one side, and promised to bring the Diamonds back at some stage. Brough's new owner, who was Wildes accountant, heard we were looking for a new track and invited us back in, and my capital was put back into the new business NEWSPEED LTD in time for the 1997 season.
  17. I agree. UPDATE - See my latest post below..
  18. It was 21years actually. You mean like the team in 1997 that was a scratch team, but came third in our first season. Followed by signing 3 times World Champ Nicki, the rise of second string Jesper, PL title in 2001 and runners up in 2002, the signings of World Cup star Bjarne P, Compton, World Cup star KB, Kenni and Rene, the 3 times winners 2010 team, the emergence of the Worrals from juniors, the UK U21 star Lambert, the rise of the Gems in 2002 to 2004 and re-emergence of the new Gems three years ago, who have now two of the top youngster in the NJL, and the only FREE training school in the country financed exclusively and ran by ME. Shocking performance, very mediocre Eh.
  19. As you know I was never into speedway for profit, but to return the club in 1997 which I did. I retired in 2003 on my 60th birthday, as I had never wanted to run the club, but just to get it up and running again. Perhaps it's just as well that some are 'high and mighty' to give the sport and put something into it, whilst others just try get as much as they can out of it. Your point again is out of date as the number of hangers on has greatly been reduced in latter years, but obviously its still a concern of yours.
  20. I honestly think that Freddie, having the success he did at that time, was the main reason for Ludde to try and stick with them longer than he should have.
  21. There are many clubs who can't host the 4's, or don't want to, sometimes due to lack of parking and pits not big enough. Whether people like it or not, but Peterborough is the real home for the 4's due to a great track, the racing, facilities, parking, viewing, as long as the venue is available for the right period. In it's absence, I applaud Redcar for taking up the challenge and will be there to support them and the event.
