  1. Welcome to the GP's Brady, I suppose he got off lightly in terms of Freddie introductions, but now he knows what he's up against.
  2. Great night of speedway, if memory serves no crashes except Vinny looping the start, safe and raceable track, just brilliant. I was lucky enough to see the famous Collins/Michanek race at the old Hyde Rd track, never thought I'd witness anything to touch that but tonight's final is definitely up there. As for my e/w Bomber bet, so close, hard luck Chris.
  3. My sentiments too. I backed Bomber e/w earlier, my only bet, just though he may be up for one (or 2) more appearances on the World stage, come on Bomber, big finale!!
  4. Was just thinking same, there's already been much better racing than I've seen so far this season on British tracks, probably 20 meetings in all, maybe more. This track delivers almost every time, nowhere compares in this country.
  5. Thanks both, I'll give it a go.
  6. Can't get to this but am considering buying the stream, anyone advise, is there commentary, is it worth the £15? Not cheap but should be a decent meeting.
  7. I think he's referring to the clown of a father rather than the rider, he did need throwing out of the stadium for his antics, absolute bellend and it's no wonder his son has that similar attitude.
  8. Well it's no wonder his lad is unhinged on a bike if that's the example he sets.
  9. If that was his dad giving it the big one as they walked off the track then I'm sorry but he's not alright at all, he's a complete cock for the way he was behaving.
  10. Take a bow Ashton, brilliant ride considering the night he's having, well done. Come on Oxford!!!
  11. No wonder Foord has withdrawn, it's not as though any of his teammates will lend him a bike is it, he's a one man wrecking crew.
  12. I lumped on @ 7/2 after arriving and seeing the track was in good nick, so that and my 10/3 flutter on us winning it before the semis were run ensured a nice return. I also thought Ben Cook would be good for over 7 after his max the previous night, so not a complete sweep but a decent night all round. To clarify, I also lose plenty of times during the season.
  13. Just got home, so glad I made the trip along with a good few hundred Aces supporters, as said previously they made a great atmosphere on the first bend. Really impressed with what the track staff had done to make it raceable, although passing was scarce after the first 2 bends, we really are fortunate to watch home meetings at the NSS. I think the lighting needs improving all around the track but particularly the starting gate area, I'm sure the riders find it adequate or they would be complaining but it makes for gloomy viewing imo. Brady and Dan were superb value but the whole team chipped in to ensure the overall result was never in doubt. Well done Aces, Champions of England!!!
  14. I backed Dan to win this at 10/1, this was after seeing how he flew on Monday night, knowing the the similarities in the tracks made me think it worth the punt, went e/w, so a good chance of something back. Either way it's been a pleasure to watch him and others being brave and confident enough to stick it out by the fence, great GP for me.
  15. That's a fair comment when it's a meeting like this one, so much happening on the track to occupy the senses, but some meetings are so boring that you need to have a distraction. Really enjoying this meeting, I'm sure this track was the blueprint for the NSS, speaks volumes, well done Mort.
  16. Same here, I was 11 and a veteran having spent 5 years being at Hyde Rd every Saturday, never seen anything like what happened that night, before or since. Wilkie was absolutely livid and you just knew he wasn't going to let Cowland get back into the pits. It's still one of my abiding childhood memories even though I've forgotten so much and can't recall what I did yesterday. https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-this-was-the-scene-at-belle-vue-after-an-amazing-flare-up-in-the-aces-83754512.html RIP Wilkie.
  17. Who knows but we'll probably find out on Monday.
  18. A Leicester fan I spoke with on Monday said it's been drastically improved since then, you're so living in the past down there on the south coast.
  19. Weather permitting I may drive over on Thursday, from reading your posts you seem to do the trip often enough, would you say A50/M1 is the best route to use? Google maps suggest just under 2hrs but obviously that can change depending on the time of day.
  20. A travesty for speedway? Mate I think you're clutching at straws with that one, not one fall all meeting, a decent amount of passing, reasonable times throughout. I understand you being gutted at the result but that was nothing to do with the condition of the track, it was down to your team not wanting to know, for me the only Lions rider to come out of it with any credit was Sam Hagon, he was prepared to give a good go and deserved every point he got. Fricke, Masters and Becker were poor imo. Belle Vue track staff deserve a lot of praise for ensuring the meeting went ahead as scheduled, it wasn't a quagmire by any stretch of imagination, Bewley & Kurtz proved you could venture out wide and prosper, Leicester's top liners just weren't prepared to give it a go. One hand on the trophy but still all to play for on Thursday, here's hoping the track can deliver a decent meeting.
