World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
nw42 replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Been done to death, you'll have to read the thread. -
Surely you recall the Scenic Railway too, it went right past the 1st bend behind the terracing, then again I suppose if that's where you stood to watch the speedway you wouldn't have necessarily noticed it. We used to sit above the entrance to the 3rd bend, so I can remember seeing the people on the ride as the railcars went past. The Bobs were quite a scary ride back then. There were also the Suites, Windermere was one, can't remember the names of the others, the Aces end of season get-togethers were always at the Windermere Suite, seemed quite posh back then. The BLRC's were brilliant, coaches came from every club in the country, 25,000 sell-out every year, cracking atmosphere, great memories.

Of course, I mean I'm backing GB, based on how disappointing Max Fricke was last night. -

Brilliant workings, at odds of 4/1 I will be having a nibble, you've convinced me. -

I'm with you, any speedway on tv is better than none, ok the 2 meetings weren't the best but they have to look after the track to ensure it's raceable by Saturday. Of course it would've been better with a bit more dirt on it but all things considered it was good to see riders giving their all for their countries. I enjoyed the first race off because my country were in it, the second because there was essentially 2 duels going on, the France/Finland one had plenty of twists, the exclusion of Jensen meant we could've been treated to a grandstand finish. As for the commentary, Tatum goes from bad to worse, mixing up his metaphors, "Denmark are now in the box office" being a prime example. Great to hear from Darcy Ward and good to know that he's been included in everything by Mark Lemon, what a talent he was and to think he'd probably be hitting his peak around now if things had worked out different. I'm looking forward to both Friday & Saturday and can see no reason why we can't mix it with the Danes and the Aussies for the medals while the Poles disappear into the distance. -

They even titled it 'riders standings', clowns. -

Who would've got the third spot if it had gone to countback? -

Well done Tom, on the pace and could have stolen the lead on the back straight, take a bow lad. -

He was floundering there, no chance of any points the lines he was taking. Fair play to Tai, Tom will only benefit from the experience whatever he manages. -

I was about to say Ellis deserved the ride due to his first 2 being ok but after that amateurish ride there really is no argument, almost beat himself into last place. -

Long way to travel to not bother going to the meeting, I'd want to see all the live speedway I could if I'd done your journey. -
Fair play, I followed you with both of those and backed Bewley for the win based on it being his home track, decent night.
-
Also think Charles did enough in the heat to ensure Kurtz got away, Doyle had to get round him on the 3rd/4th turn before he could start the chase. Great team performance that, special mention for Tom Brennan, really steady looking rider this season. Very enjoyable meeting I thought.

But you couldn't be arsed to comment on the book, instead you leave a snide comment about the man, nice.

That's the spirit, ruin it for the rest of us, fool.

Bound to happen eventually but the delay for that length of time was ridiculous, robbing the punters again.

Rain stopped, track graded and doesn't look very greasy, get on with it ffs!

Thought that might bring you online, you're correct of course, on both points, so many apologies. Thought the presentation was very good last night, yourself and Adam seem to get along ok and he offers up some good info from a riders perspective. Keep up the good work BSN. I also enjoy the podcast btw, good mix of info, interviews, reports & up-coming fixtures. Harleys -

Ian Brannan started it last night. -
I was a walk up after that and there seemed a few others doing similar. First time I've been for years, enjoyed the racing, correct result based on performances, I doubt Dan Bewley will deliver a return like that again, so things not looking too bad for the Aces. Will definitely go again, must remember to wrap up better next time though, cracking view from the Grandstand seats but I should've gone on the back straight, easier to keep warm when stood.
