  1. Not much about the close racing on here and the genuine passes, just the sense of loss which people said they would forgo to get close racing another myth of the speedway fan. It's easy to say you will sacrifice winning for close racing when you are winning.I must say i'm not a massive Bjerre fan, last night he was impressive he did seem to have the bit between the teeth or maybe I have just got used to him. Always like to see Barker, Fisher etc they are showmen and the sport need more of them. Leicester weren't lucky in Ht 2 the Ipswich pair were riding beyond their ability for that heat and you have to cross the line to get the points. Obviously Heeps and Ellis did get used to the track later on. I'd say Sarjeants fall was checking the track out what an ideal heat to do it in. Thoroughly enjoyed last night.!!!!
  2. Dissenter.................. public flogging is too good for some people
  3. Or the next Craig Cook
  4. The numbers game is the curse of the tried and tested rider that and not missing out on the next R Worrall. It must be a difficult job
  5. Sorry I didn't realise you didn't know. Replies are always so facetious on here. Facetious = Treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant.
  6. Sargeant is good if you ask me at least he will pick up the gifted points as he doesn't tend to fall. Although he can't share, as he rides for the same NL side as Branford everybody needs a break. Hope he doesn't try to prove anything, that's the problem sometimes, they all feel they have something to prove they feel it's this one make or break chance and all that kaibosh. Just ride like we know you can James !!!!!!!
  7. Glynn wants to run a squad of 8 so when there is a clash of NL/PL fixture he has a no.7 to call on rather than get, in his eyes a NL guest to make up the numbers. He seems to be struggling a little to get this tactic off the ground as the riders don't seem to be keen to share the rides. Scunthorpe, at the time of signing Branford, needed a reserve change and Blackbird made himself available, to quote the press release. Had Scunthorpe been happy with their NO7 then Blackbird would still be a Leicester but probably operating as the senior no7 The same thing happened with Kerr at the beggining of the season when Jason King declared himself unfit and Newcastle nabbed Kerr as he wasn't guaranted a full season of meetings but who is? if you ask me. the idea, in principle, is good it's taking the no.8 strategy a step further and obviously needs a little work but must Leicester be knocked for trying it? You will probably say yes so i'll leave others to decide bearing in mind that Sheffield maybe looking to increase their reserve scoring and Branford may get going with Leicester then do one to Sheffield should Glynn sign another no.7. Also the NL is the bread and butter for these lads who are developing into NL riders so should be allowed to DU
  8. Oh bogoff and do one. Get your kicks elsewhere I'm sure Spearmint Rhino does conccesions!!!!!!
  9. Please don't take my commentas out of context to suit your own argument!!!!!!!!!!! I have never mentioned the track and I will say it again In my opinion and how many more times 'IT'STHE RIDERS' to pass someone you have to be going faster than them or else you are restricted to just sitting on their tail and waiting foer them to slow down or make a mistake Jeez it's not rocket science if you are going at the same speed as them you will never pass them 'simples' however good the track is or maybe they don't want to break another femur or another collarbone and only pass when they can rather than both riders ending up on a heap on the track nobody wants to see thet either, I imagine 'ala' PLRC last year thats not racing either
  10. I don't believe I have ever said the track is ok (I don't understand track prep or design) I have always maintained it's the riders as it's the riders who have to pass and as I also have said Newport in the first season was an infamous meeting where the away team passed the home riders in virtually every heat. Montie who I hold in great esteem has said on the Leicester track "That was simply the best race I have ever seen" How is this possible on a crap track?? That is the question I want answering. Lions Den may put me right but before the opening night debacle which I believe has created this whole topic the track seemed to be ok?.
  11. Sorry as i'm not a Cov regular I wasn't aware of that !!!!!
  12. I'll give you a sensible answer!!!!!! If David Hemsley wasn't there there wouldn't be a problem as you can see it's the same 4 or 5 all the time................. apart from those that are just on a wind up, of course I went to Coventry a couple of weeks back and we played which ht can you fill the program in and apart from falls we were 99% right but they are happy with their promoter.!!!!! Tells the whole story
  13. There wasn't a race card for the Spitfire's or did I miss that. This may just have been an oversight though :-)
  14. It takes a brave person to say that but it shows positive thinking in the Fenwick camp good to see......... All the best for the season.
  15. Well you never know if you put the word about then more people might decide to give it a go !!!!!!! Glad it went well
  16. I hope you know this as fact? because there is a lot of rubbish masqarading as fact on here and people get upset.
  17. http://leicesterlions.co/ Lions v Bears Saturday 20th April On Saturday 20th April the Lions meet the Redcar Bears in our first home Premier League fixture of the season. Racing begins at the usual time of 7.30 pm. Gates and ticket office open from 5.30 pm. The bar in the stadium car park will be open from 5.30 pm on Saturday for anyone who wishes to purchase a ticket for the meeting. Please note that ticket sales in the bar will only be taken by debit or credit card. If you are dropping people off at the stadium it is advisable to do this within the leisure centre car park to avoid congestion along the access road to the stadium entrance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just saying !!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Just check (Who has got to dodge who?) or check mate ??? Disclaimer.- Not claiming any kind of knowledge of the chess world either....just google em !!!!!
  19. You may call me dear. I've been called a lot worse. The' pretend' was an analogy of those who maybe returning to ride a little early than they should because they feel pressured if they want to ride(possibly a vagary of the written word.....Again) , not actually to King as he clearly didn't. A discussion. You want to have a discussion? that would be a first on here!!!!!!!........I was making a point to Lions fans about the Leicester v Edinburgh thread. I'm not sure when Newcastle even came into it apart from the link to the Newcastle website to demonstrate that Kerr wasn't Newcastle's first choice. Whichever, I believe you should live by your decisions learn from any mistakes and move on so it's not actually bothering me. Your version bare's no resemblance to the press release !!!!!!!! So you may want to put us right. I'm with Volty if it is an attempt at humor then your delivery needs a little work
  20. Gloating is such an unattractive look.............and trying to wind Lions fans up is even lower !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we are talking about choice may I refer you to my previous post. Kerr was hardly Newcastle's first choice either as I said if King had have been fit or pretended to be................. Kerr wouldn't have got a look in. Press releases are always enhanced to show the clubs in a good light as you well know.. but what ever makes you happy
  21. Stay with us you appear to have gone off on a tangent!!!!!!!
