  1. I do feel for RG as he has faced this before but because he has faced this before did he not learn from previous lessons?. I believe MV at the time stated he would not be taking 15 year olds again and here we are having the same discussion. Rider loyalty should be discussed but Team loyalty should form part of that discussion at the end of the day a 15 year old is free to sign for whoever they want to as they turn 16 and it is a risk you take as Stefan Nielson last year and Franklin Howarth and Morris the year before, Why would the riders want to drive past their local track to drive to another track a good hour and a half away. The temptation is too great i'm affraid and why is Greenwood getting all the flack when Max seems to have followed the same path.
  2. I would say the IOW nurtured him by allowing him to ride in their NL side otherwise I would say other clubs wouldn't know what he could do to to offer him better terms.. 2nd half racing is developmental for the rider but should not in my opnion be a test of a riders ablity as they are often trying new things different lines etc to try and improve on their racing. How far he travels to race is his own choosing many riders is this country have travelled many many miles and many many hours from North to South and vice verse to race the fact Adam crosses the channel is neither here not there really. Asd you say Adam is a free agaent and free to make his own choices and may I just say I wasn't having a go!!!.
  3. Thank you for clearing that up. I supose if you live close and have an association with Cov then had they have run a NL side there then that would have been where Olly started which is always a consideration. Being contacted and offered more money to ride is my defifnition of being tapped but Adam clearly chose not to
  4. On the plus side not all riders are the same. I'd put money on Ellis being 'tapped' but he appears to have signed for the I.O.W who I don't imagine pay megabucks. I'd like to think that gratitude and loyalty played a part there but I maybe wrong.
  5. This is the 3rd time Scunny have had their riders poached in 3 years that I know of where is the rider loyalty Scunny had a good 2 year program and clearly some of the riders saw pound signs over development. I believe that was the reason for Worrall's and Birks older riders but more loyalty. Yr 1 The scunthorpe 3 Yr 2 Nielson Yr 3 ?????. Scunny were well on their way to a championship again in 2013. I know there were other reasons for not runing but if all 7 riders were desperate to come to the tapes I'm sure RG wouldn't have let them down. Hope they do manage it in 2014 which 2013 I suspect is a year to develop riders Amatuer and MDL ready for the saints in 2014.
  6. Would this be 2 home 2 away as if you cut the league in half you end up with half the fixtures!!!!!!!
  7. I do hope you get where you want to be and soon.!!!!!! You all deserve it
  8. It has been said on many occasions that the riders don't do enough to gain valuable sponsorship needed and that casual appeals on FB is not enough. Attending an awards evenings and networking with the fans is certainly a step in the right direction however far you have to travel.
  9. There will be a bond to pay if the Lions promotion fold, I imagine, which in the EL that will be quite high 10's of 1000's?. The promotion can't be let off this just because they have a big fan base and want to progress. lets not forget the fact that the promotion may even have these funds in place already for when the application is lodged
  10. I'm not sure that more ind. meetings is what the lads need they need to develop their team skills. Most riders in the NL are trying to shine to get themselves noticed for a spot in in the PL and who can blame them they seem to have be 10 times better than a junior foreign rider to get a chance. You get lots of incidents like team mates taking each other out. Team mates pushing each other out when in scoring positions. Slowing the race down to get a team member through is another skill that is lacking in the NL. I'll always remember seeing Armstrong at Dudley using all these skills to get him and a team mate through to a much needed 5 -1 he had a well planned race he knew exactley when to make his move by getting everybody in the right place on the track These are the kinds of skills they need to develop to make it in the higher leagues but your idea of combining disciplines is a briliant idea as that seems to be the way the stock cars are going by running bangers (I think) at the same time therefore attracting supporters from both disciplines although I'm not sure the Stock car fans are overly keen on banger racing. Does the track have to be prepared differently for flat track short track etc????
  11. What was the outcome of the meeting on Thursday? It will be sad for the NL to loose Dudley but they must do what they must do for the club
  12. That can only mean 1 thing he is putting it about and he is 2 timing you !!!!
  13. Scunny and Sheffiled would also just race each other as Leicester for all intents and purposes is going into the EL and I'm affraid it will be the NL boys nipping down to Plymouth as they have already said they are going NL
  14. It's funny how, although there are still some watching from a distance, people have stopped complaining about the track whilst the Lions have been winning at home.
  15. The right or wrongs aside as it's only rumour but don't you think it's sad, if it is the case, that a promoter feels he has to hold wages back to get the riders to a party designed to promote the club, thank the fans for their support and allow the fans to mingle with the lads they have supported over the season?. Last year Scott Richardson had already announced his retirement and stil turned up to the Colts party to thank all concerned for a fab season.
  16. It just seems every thread you go on on this forum people are shooting from the hip at promoters. I wouldn't blame them all to just jack it in.and say 'up yours' I certainly wouldn't have the where with all to do it and tend to respect anyone who does.
  17. I don't know what 'evey thing' is but if I did I would probably have an opnion on it.
  18. It was actually a genuine question. I don't spend hours reading up on stuff that don't affect me like Plymouth Spedway (200 miles away from me)I do have a life.!!!!!!
  19. Can I ask what the Plymouth promoter has actually done to alienate so many fans??? I'm not aware i'm affraid
  20. Not sure the ethical argument stands up here. In my line of work I am bound by P&P's with regards to discussing work on FB shouldn't professional' sportsmen/women be boundby the same?
  21. Oh ok sorry !!!! I missed the No.8 rule or agreement. I supose the lads that would go on it are probably already on a team's radar and therefore said team maybe reluctant to put them on it as they could maybe guest for someone else and be 'spotted'. eg Ellis, Coles.
  22. Because he has ridden for the Vikings until he broke his arm Maybe you should read my post again !!!!!!!!!!! There is no such thing as a Speedi bee
  23. Lewis Rose also guested for Buxton at RH as KLYS declared No8. I don't think you get an assessed ave in the NL now that the Commonwealth patriality thing has been thrown out as they used to get 6 didn't they ??? A bit unfair on No.8's really if they don't get any rides with 'their' team and they can't guest for others either. The 2 seasons ago Richie Worrall was guesting all over the place and it paid off.
