[quote name=robert72' timestamp='1361485728' post='2246955] Shows your complete lack of knowledge of speedway riders earnings, most have other jobs to pay for racing, some have backing from family members to pay for there racing, some have major sponsors to pay for there racing,So if you honestly think 99% of speedway riders go to make a fortune then you are so wrong, how many have to work hard during the winter to pay for the season just gone. Ding ding looneyville. City centre. As expected you have completly missed the point

[quote name=neb' timestamp='1361475430' post='2246837] money, is that not why we all go to work to earn some maybe all these years i have been doing it all wrong.from next week i am going to work for half of what i get now and see if i can get into debt. Don't forget to do a tap dance to entertain everybody aswell

I did I did [quote name=robert72' timestamp='1361462236' post='2246720] alot of riders i know its about racing and winning races over money, if you really think that you can make a good living then you are thinking about a different sport,i know alot of riders that were struggling to get to the end of the season. Not to mention your side of the argument backs up your Hemsleybashing track argument :)

What else do you think there is?

Well done for doing what you can. I am watching with interest as you say it's refreshing to have promotoers that promote However some of the press releases are a little misleading the signing of Ben Morley for instance!!!! The press release indicated that Ben only decided to sign when he visitied the facilities 2 saturdays ago this maybe to enphasis how great the facilities are but the press releases do contradict each other and what the co promotion say. This implied he wasn't signed before that which I can hardly believe as it has been well documented from David Mason's press releses that the team has been settled for quite some time. Maybe a continuity and coordination for the press releases maybe in order no one else may have noticed but I can be a little anal about these things. Not a moan just an observation from 'Joe public'

You know me so well!!!!! So why false starts/ gardening/ fiddling with clutches/ accidents at the first bend?. There was I thinking to get to the front and stay there. You obviously see riders saying ooo i'll give them a head start and then go and pass them to give the crowd some entertainment. Oh no, I forgot you don't see anything because you don't go.......... Money plain and simple drives riders and with money comes success!!!!!!!.
-
The riders will only be bothered if they aren't scoring any points which = no money. They wont want a track where people can come hurtlung past them with relative ease it makes hard work of it

Which Shane? I think it's planned for Hazelden to be at reserve. Who do you think will drop down if thats the case?

[quote name=Nikko' timestamp='1360309331' post='2242939] Hope the above 2 posters don't mind if I make a slight correction. The Kent Kings are a brand new club and are not Rye House. Appreciate Len is our co-promoter and we have asked John to manage the team but the clubs promoter is Roger Cearns and the club are a completely separate entity to Rye House. Cheers My apologies
-
Rye aren't Rye. They are the Sittingbourne 'kings' I believe
-
Oh i'd have put money on that

I never thought I would see the day when I wanted to see the track argument back :)

[quote name=Fourentee' timestamp='1359017967' post='2238706] Stourbridge Chronicle today: Stourbridge speedway hopeful Emerson Jones has pledged to make his team's supporters proud after doing a career U-turn. The motocross convert signed up with Stoke during the winter with a view to taking a place in the Potters' line-up for the 2013 National League season. He then changed his mind and opted to stick with motocross only to have another change of heart after talks with Stoke promoter Dave Tattum. Now he's "100 per cent committed" to the shale sport. "It was just one of those things where you are stuck between two things and you don't know which to go for," said Jones, who turns 19 tomorrow. "But I've chosen speedway and that's what I am going to do. I am going to be 100 per cent committed." Jones admits the chopping and changing may not have got him on the best of footings with the Stoke supporters but is out to change that. "They probably think I'm a different person than I am," he said. "I will try to show them what I am about and do them proud." Tattum said: "We were devastated by his decision. "But we feel he is an extremely talented rider and after leaving things for a few days spoke to him. "After some dialogue between us he has decided he wants to race speedway after all." It's all a little bit publicity machineish and it appears to have done it's job 'no such thing as bad column inches' eh?

[quote name=Bryn' timestamp='1358587795' post='2237235] It would appear that the Isle of Wight's legendary start marshal "Five Laps Les" has spread his influence worldwide as we've just had a five lapper out there at Kurri Kurri in Oz!!! Meanwhile back on the island, a lot of work has been put into fully refurbishing the Premier Lounge and bar on the first floor of the clubhouse. Chances to see and hear for yourself exactly what has gone on there during the close season come firstly when the club hold their AGM on Saturday Feb 2nd and then at a Quiz Night being staged by the Supporters Club on Feb 12th. All the news etc on the club's official website at: http://www.iowislanders.co Easily my favorite clubhouse/bar of all the tracks i've been to particularly the terrace area

A fight that I din't start. This is a new experience for me

Actually I quite like stoke. Although I haven't experienced a power cut. quite like sitting on the grass bank from where you can see all the track although a bit of a trek for coffee and chips I do wish there was an easier way round but you'd get run over by a bike I supose

That only applies to certain teams. A rule should be brought i where everyone can make them up to put everyone on a level playing field !!!!!!!!
