  1. You want constructive open debate? Ok............ you start then.
  2. I have already been branded unapproachable you don't expect me to advertise that I have been seen consorting with your sort at Brandon. Do you?
  3. I think everything that needs to be said has been said but if there is any speedway on sat this thread will soon pick up a head of steam again.
  4. Sorry i'm not familiar with Adam's spell at Buxton but he showed excellent commitment last season at BVand he often brought Andrew Tully with him which was a boost to the lower order riders and he was always well humored in the pits which is something you don't see every day. So hopefully Neal and Blacklock may benefit. All the best to Adam hope his season works out for him.
  5. It's a brave chap who strips off and has a shower in Buxton and worthy of everyone's admiration Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  6. But is that the supporters fault?. Are the riders riding for the club or the supporters?. Or themselves. On the flipside if he doesn't think he could score many points he would be down on points money.
  7. By enlarge that is a very good post OldSparky but Webster wouldn't have decided he couldn't ride the track overnight so as has been asked why sign in the first place?. Practising for all riders who don't live down the road is difficult as it is expensive and time consuming as most of the riders of Websters ilk hold down full time jobs to fund their speedway. I maintain that a ride is a ride you are not in NL to make your fortune. It;s better than having to pay for practice sessions and Amateur meetings which are expensive. at least riding in the NL you get some of your money back and I'm sure Jayne and Richard would have allowed practice time after the meetings when they aren't playing host to the NJL and the supporters would have seen him trying. Apart from this a good post and I do Hope Tim goes on to find what he is looking for.
  8. Ye that'll be it.......Oh dear 'again' call yourself a grown up but you are right about the being bothered thing lets just agree to disagree I think. I'll stick with the Lions you stick with Coventry.
  9. Well there you go. Coventry only has it's facilities because of the Stox and Greyhound and Speedway rides shotgun on those money spinners. Eventually Leicetser will be for all kinds of Speedway events with not bad facilities it has to be said. Not once has a Coventry fan, as I have stood on the terrace between bend 1 & 2 on my own, has anyone ever made the effort to speak to me at Brandon. I'm sorry I don't share your view of friendly Yours faithfully Rose tinted
  10. Glad I brightened your day I think the fact that he has already made alterations indicates he knows there is something wrong with the track....I don't think anyone of us has defended the track itself although I maintain it's the riders but the more realistic of us know it isn't going to turn into Scunthorpe overnight Scunthorpe didn't turn into Scunthorpe over night (I use Scunny as that is the track we keep getting thrown at us note it isn't Brandon)and as I have said before maybe the shape wasn't the best but you cant undo the done i'm affraid even in the best of fairy tales what we are defending is the process of putting it right you have already made it quite plain how much money DH owes and court cases which are going on etc..... so where do you expect him to get the money from 'only £6.000' the 2 track reshapes which have been mentioned on here Glasgow and Ipswich are far far more then taht. Do you have that in small change????. Then maybe you shouldn't demand others spend what they haven't got either.
  11. To be fair I have stood on the terraces ay Coventry feeling no allegiance whatsoever to either team on track so I cant comment on from that perspective when you stand there not really careing who wins or loses I have, however suported individual riders but that is different. From a neutral poInt of view haven't found the racing at Brandon exhilarating in fact I haven't found it much beter than BP as generally whn anybody tries to pass at Brandon they invariably fall. I feel an allegiance to the Lions so maybe it is blind faith but I hand over my £15 and I believe holisitcally what BP offers is far superior to any other track. We all go with different agendas mine is the whole package. Thats what I call entertainment. But that os course is just my opnion
  12. Well in that case you wont be able to afford to support 2 teams. I suggest you just stick with Coventry becuase the entertainment there is second to none.........Not
  13. You pay for it then. The £15 you 'don't' pay a week wont pay for track changes you will need to move in with '10 grand'. I'm sure you wont be turned away
  14. Unfortunatley the negativity comes from the poilitics of the original management set up which split the supporters into 2 camps, I'm affraid. Had the management structure remaind as it was originally planned I believe this would never have happened.
  15. You may have misunderstood my point it was a combination of all 3 that defines speedway it takes guts to sit behind someone because the mistake the rider in front makes could end you own career it's not for the faint hearted. Ye but if Karlsson had got passed then wouldnt that have been spectacular and I believe it will happen
  16. My sincere apologies to all those taking part in the debate. I have been missing the point all along as I thought this was the definition of Speedway.....Put the person in front of you under presure to make him make a mistake or have the determination to win and the guts to find a gap where there may not exactly be one!!!!!!!!!!
  17. What an excellent night of Speedway and although the weather was bitter and a couple of nasty falls all the lads put on an excellent show. The highlight of the night being Connor Mountain's reaction to breaking down at the tapes in the 250 final (how unlucky was he?). but by far was the 500 final Bates verge stoneman Daniels well done those lads NL/PL/EL watch out they are coming to get you and they are not taking prisoners. Good to se the future of the sport in such rude health. I just hope these lads are given the support they deserve.. Wishing Kelsey Dugard al the best and a speedy recovery gave the centre green staff a scare and the pit staff were looking worried at one point. . ..
  18. and you haven't mentioned the benefit to the brit lads who ride against them what they gain from it. I know it's not the same tour but the meeting at Leicester last year was excellent.
  19. I have to say a very balanced view AAAt Laaaast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........Yes the track may not be perfect ok DH probably did make mistakes but you cant change whats gone. Maybe sack cloth and ashes apology to the supporters is required but if DH isn't that kind of guy then you are not going to get it. Any problems wont be solved overnight and if support dwindles then probably never. The view we will get of the track is in moth balls as we visit beamont Leys shopping centre well at least it is tucked round the back. I can remember sitting in the car on the BBR housing estate while my husband explained to me I couldn't picture it obviously but I have a full pic of BP and I don't want that. If any of you do, whatever greivences you may have with the promoter. Try to hold that thought I know for some people BP is already dead but is it fair to the rest of the 1500 supporters who don't come on here and winge they just want to be able to go each week. Lets hope not because no work will get done throught he open season.......Apart from anything wouldn't a reshape have to be licensed???.
  20. You carry on with your little campaign Mr Snackett wrote; "Just seen on the official Glasgow site that the promotion are to address the supporters of the club regarding the future off Glasgow Speedway it has been well documented that they have suffered severe financial loss in the title winning season and the cost of re-shaping the track was far more expensive than first thought . The failure to sell on prominent assets (Nick Morris , Josh Grajczonek) has hindered the club despite the supporters starting loads of initiatives to raise funds through the Glasgow Speedway fighting fund this club statement does sound rather ominous with the poor crowd levels being highlighted at the start of this season as a contributory factor on the decision to announce the future off the club beyond this season is this the beginning of the end for our proud club well we shall all find out this Sunday". Sorry but it speaks for itself . So do it's excuse me if I don't join in. Not negative Gemini just fact
  21. Totally agree. To get a website up and running is not an easy task, and all efforts to do so covering this level of speedway are much appreciated. I hope that it gets the level of support it needs to succeed.
  22. Show me where I had a dig at Scunthorpe; I refer you to MV's quote and who can blame him; ".I do not have to state on here in advance what my future plans are. If you are clever enough and know the rules perhaps you can work them out and stop calling us cheats. That is not clever and we are most certainly not cheats. But I make no apology for looking after the inetersts of my Club". I was making an observation of creative team building and Scunthorpe was the only team I could think of as an example. Do you have a better one ???? Please don't be under any illusion that what Scunthorpe do or do not do keeps me awake at night because I have a life
  23. As highlighted in a previous post even the most pedantic aren't immune to the odd gramatical 'pecadillo'.
