  1. Christ Burger King is nowhere near that here in Ipswich!
  2. I disagree. They can't qualify so the meeting is a bit pointless for them in terms of needing a result, and Danny King is a rider you'd think the home promotion would want to be attending to possibly add a few extra on the gate.
  3. From the wording looks like a direct replacement for Allen. So when Roynon regains fitness do the promotion keep to their word and reinstate him, or go back on their word and keep MPT?
  4. No Manzares he has a fractured shoulder blade. He's hoping to be back on a bike in "a couple of weeks"
  5. As Super Blue says, the Golf is just around the corner from the stadium on Foxhall Road http://www.johnbarras.com/pub/golf-hotel-ipswich/c1740/ If you like your fish n chips, I can highly recommend the "ultimate codfather", large cod fillet skinless and boneless so right up your street, scampi, chips and bread and butter white or brown. The Golf is sound and definitely worth a try IMO.
  6. Yes that's true. Just looked at Plymouth's fixture list and their first reserved date is Friday 19th June, that day Coventry are at home to Leicester. Was hoping that with Coventry having less fixtures in the EL it could be re-staged on a Friday they're not riding. Getting way ahead of ourselves anyway as there's time for the forecast to change on Friday.
  7. Forecast for Plymouth on Friday is awful so every chance we'll go there with our own 1-7 in the near future. Question is, will we be facing the same Plymouth that all the others have been beating or will they have strengthened by the time of the re-staging..
  8. If Rye pick up a point that puts them on 18 points whilst we will be on 15 points for the home win. I make it that a 4 point win and Plymouth puts us on 19 points and tops the group, with no swing in race points difference needed?
  9. Excuse my ignorance, but where is this "4 man team" coming from? I just had a peep on updates and was expecting to see Edinburgh at a severe disadvantage of literally having 4 riders and competing in some heats with only one rider!?
  10. It was blocked mid way through last season not the winter. Things could have changed now who knows.
  11. If he's fit and available, he has to be the choice for me even with his ropey start to the season. He's brilliant around Plymouth. Of the others, Kyle Howarth has been riding quite well and looks the pick of the rest. Or maybe Vissing? Started the season well.
  12. I was thinking Ben Barker with it being at Plymouth, but he's been awful so far this season and is definitely not the Barker of old so very risky. Ricky wells? Started season well and I'd assume the small track may suit him? No idea of his record there.
  13. Coventry Vs Belle Vue on Friday whilst we are down at Plymouth so guests needed for Both King and Nielsen. Hope we pick very carefully as it could well be a group decider!
  14. Yes not the best by his very high standards but he's been immense so far this season so we'll forgive him the odd average meeting
  15. You're right Paulco it was a missed opportunity and although on the face of it a draw and two points was a great result, it kind of felt like a defeat to me as we should have seen it through. I'm hoping it won't matter at the end of the day, and two victories next week against Rye and Plymouth will make the dropped point irrelevant.
  16. Eh? You can't just ignore Manzares' R/R rides and take the totals of Ipswich' top FOUR against the Somerset top five and call it a top 5 domination 42-29. It was 42-36 in Somersets favour. These are of course, 7 man teams these days not five man teams and the reserves points do actually count towards a teams meeting total.
  17. So the group is now in our hands. Beat Rye and Plymouth next week and we top the group regardless of what Peterborough do at Somerset. If Rye take a point at Foxhall on Thursday, we can still top the group but will need to take the full 4 points at Plymouth next Friday. Rye in theory also have the group in their hands as a win at Foxhall will see them top the group. We must be favourites though at this stage.
  18. Yes he should and that decision or lack of, could have cost Ipswich the victory. Neither Hawkins or Heeps were having particularly good meetings whilst Covatti was obviously a man on form. When you have a rider at reserve racking up the points and in fine fettle, you take advantage of that and give him the maximum rides possible. For whatever reason, that didn't happen. Maybe the new team manager had his reasons but I guess we'll never hear them.
  19. Do we need the full 4 points at Plymouth or is any win enough as long as we beat Rye next week?
  20. Agree with you Baldyman. Leading by 4 going in to heat 15 and with King and Tungate in the heat, that feels like a defeat and could be costly. Covatti indeed finally looking a classy rider in this league, lets hope it continues! Can see him and Hawkins swapping places before too long. Also good to see Tungate scoring well on a track he's never gone well on in the past. Need to get Heeps going again. The lad started the season in superb form, but has recently looked like the struggling rider from last year so that is a concern.
  21. A few Peterborough fans were thinking the same yesterday too but Plymouth put in a much better performance so who knows which Plymouth will turn up Thursday!
