You know - the BSPA can't win can it? This is a VERY positive move to raise the Profile of Speedway in this Country. Nearly everyone on here including me have slammed the Promoters over this, that and the other. We accuse them of being useless, rubbish and full of self interest. Political influence is very important even if, like me, you don't have a lot of use for Politicians. There are many ways that Speedway can benefit from a Political tie up like this. An example would be the smoothing of the way, in certain areas, to open new Tracks. Do you think that Football has no Political influence because I can tell you it does - you can see it from time to time on the Television. I wish this venture every success and I hope that it will bring many benefits to Speedway. We have to be FAIR. Give the BSPA a chance over this one - if the initiative fails - well nobody can say that they have not tried. If it succeeds then we all may be the beneficiaries as our Sport struggles to recover from it's many problems.

It would have been had Denmark not been fiddled out of it. :mad:

In the HOPE that it might well help Speedway to improve and kick on in this Country. If you are going to ask that - then why spend even bigger shed loads of money on the Olympics last year. Oops - I would probably agree with you there.

I just hope for a good and safe Meeting for ALL Riders on BOTH Teams. 45-45 for me.

Thank you for that update Philip. Is there any reason that you know of why Belle Vue are not giving folk regular updates? This is an historic Event for both Belle Vue and for British Speedway - I would have thought that it would be in the interests both the Belle Vue Promoters and the BSPA to encourage enthusiasm among Speedway's Supporters. We do not have a lot to Celebrate these days - the building of a brand new British Speedway Stadium would really give folk a sense of optimism for the future.

I sincerely hope that you are wrong Pandorum. I must admit that the lack of up to date information is worrying - but - I will continue to believe that it is going to happened until it is confirmed by Belle Vue that it is not.

Me too Ray - but it is a great shame it has to be like that. I like sensible debate and am prepared to be proved wrong - I believe if you enter in to a Debate you have to accept that you are not always right. Where possible I would far rather keep things friendly.

Patience Pandorum patience - these things can't be rushed. I don't know what is going on - but - I do know that where Councils are involved things DO move exceeding SLOW. :sad:

Sadly you are right. One has to spend some time defending yourself against other Posters. This is a shame because it is the Debate and the Humour that makes this Forum fun to be on.

I totally disagree with that statement. I believe that the Football Pitch was in the centre of the World's most famous Speedway Track.

No comment on the Media having far too much input in to Speedway Rules/Regulations then Philip. :sad:

But I always thought that the Sport was run for: i) Promoters to make money (laughable in the current climate - I admit). ii) Providing work for Speedway Riders. iii) Supporters of Speedway Clubs. iv) Being part of the Local Community. I did NOT realise that the Television people were the Rule Makers in Speedway - no the wonder it is going to the wall. All the Media (SKY) are interested in is making a quick 'buck'. If they so decide, they will drop Speedway and move on to another Sport without a care or a thought. You will say THAT is business - I would say we should not have allowed SKY or anyone else to decide the Rules/Regulations of OUR Sport. WE, the Supporters, are the ones who have a great passion/love for Speedway, the Media (SKY) simply couldn't give a toss - all they are interested in is the MONEY. Why were BSI, SKY or whoever ALLOWED to have such an influence on Speedway. You cannot say it was for the benefit of the Sport - it clearly isn't - Support is still falling. To sum up. SKY and BSI will leave Speedway sooner or later, when they do it will be without a care or a regret at the havoc they (and BSI) have caused in the Sport. NEITHER OUTFIT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO BE INVOLVED IN THE FIRST PLACE. I HOPE THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE ARE HAPPY - BECAUSE I, AND A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE ME - ARE NOT!!! Silly Rules that may make Meetings closer on the Scoresheet but in actuality fiddle and cheat the true Supporter out of a FAIR Result might be good for 'IT'S A KNOCKOUT' - but - those type of stupid Rules/Regulation should have no place in a serious Sport like SPEEDWAY.

I could not believe the decision to leave Schramm in Heat 14. I rarely, if ever criticise George on his Team Management because, I believe, he is VERY good at it. Tonight however I think he made a mistake - I too, in common with others on here, would have had Lewis Kerr out in Schramm's place. Nobody can say the Chris did not try hard - he did - too hard probably. Exciting Meeting though - Good to see an Elite? League Number One riding as a Premier League Number One. Interesting 'ONE' that.

I mean't keep the White Helmet and make the Yellow Helmet Yellow/Black. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Perhaps they could use a Green Helmet for the b****y Tactical Ride - I don't care - there should be no such thing anyway - and wouldn't be in any half way sensible Sport.

WRONG!!! People are complaining about the Rule/Regulation and the ability of ANY TEAM to win by GIFTED Points. I am not complaining about Poland per sé I would feel exactly the same were it England, Australia, America or anyone else. Basically it is a FIDDLE, an Official way of CHEATING. As it is sanctioned by the FIM, SCB and BSPA etc. then that is all it can be. Keeping Teams ARTIFICIALLY close is totally wrong and against all the Rules of SPORT that I was brought up with.

Close Meeting in prospect. I'm hoping for a 'Diamonds' win. Like everyone else I think it will be close - especially without Christian Henry. Hoping for NO injuries to all Riders (both Teams) too. I'm looking forward to it.

What a B****Y JOKE (no pun intended) the Speedway World Cup has turned out to be. Once again we are subjected to yet another case of the BEST Team losing. Denmark were streets ahead of any other Team - but - because of the B****Y STUPID 'Joker' System they LOST. No the wonder Speedway is a MINOR Sport - it is PATHETIC!! What can you do when the 'Powers that be' seem hell bent on destroying any little bit of CREDIBILITY and INTEGRITY that Speedway has left. Don't anybody tell me that this sort of thing will not put the General Public off Speedway - because believe me - IT WILL!!! CONTRIVING THINGS IS NOT SPORT - OR SPORTING!!!! :mad: :mad:

Fair comment Abbot - but - one White Helmet and one Black/White helmet would still make identification easier than it is at present.

Yes - and left the Yellow one that looks WHITE under lights. Two white helmets - difficult for an old git like me to distinguish. I've got a GREAT idea - why not try a Yellow/Black helmet cover - that might just help me. :approve:
