  1. I have just seen this on the SGB Website and thought it worthy to share with Forum Members. There is a Petition to sign. I have taken this verbatim from the SCB Website: BRITISH Speedway fans, riders, management and officials are encouraged to sign an online petition following recent talk of new Government insurance being introduced for vehicles that could drastically impact all motor and motorcycle sport. In the landmark ‘Vnuk’ case, the European Court of Justice ruled in 2014 that the EU’s 2009 Motor Insurance Directive required insurance policies to cover all possible third-party accidents in all places and at all times. In some countries, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, governments had interpreted the law as meaning that it only applies to vehicles driven on public roads, however it is now clear that the judgment means that national laws must be changed to ensure that all mechanically propelled vehicles are insured for third-party losses regardless of type of use, in all places, at any time. This applies to everything from Formula One racing cars, to mobility scooters, to antique trams and everything in-between. Industry experts have already claimed that the risks associated with providing insurance cover to all motorised vehicles mean that they would be prohibitively expensive to insure, thus effectively outlawing all motorsport activities across the United Kingdom. HM Government opened a consultation on Wednesday 21st December with two clear options. First, to pursue the “Comprehensive option” which would involve changing UK motor insurance law to comply with the Motor Insurance Directive as interpreted in the Vnuk judgement. Second, the Government’s preferred “Amended Directive option” which would involve changing UK law on motor insurance to implement the Motor Insurance Directive as amended, should the European Commission pursue its proposal to amend it. While the United Kingdom remains a member of the European Union, the UK is obligated to make this change. We, the undersigned petition HM Government through the Secretary of State for Transport, The Rt. Hon. Chris Grayling, M.P., asking that HM Government under no circumstances implements the 'Vnuk' judgement in a way that encompasses vehicles involved in motor and motorcycle sport activities. Full details are available here: http://www.fightvnuk.co.uk Please sign the petition here: http://bit.ly/2i6Cgsf This petition will be delivered to: Secretary of State for Transport, The Rt. Hon. Chris Grayling. Share This: I have just signed.
  2. I am going to see my Solicitor. I never gave permission for my morning excercise to be filmed and put on here.
  3. No Barry Hearne then. How about Richard Hearne - this being Speedway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36N9CUhIG7s
  4. Having had dealings with him in the past - I found him to be a complete gentleman. He tells it as it is, and, to us anyway, was totally honest. He certainly does, as you say, deserve a happy retirement.
  5. 'Sprouts' Elder. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=43550116
  6. But would letting go be in their best interests? It might be in Speedway's best interests - but crucially every Promoter has money in their business (their Track) so what incentive would there be for them 'letting go'?
  7. I love SPAM me!!! Especially Spam Fritters. :approve:
  8. That would be my question too. I doubt if it would be allowed these day - always supposing you had enough petrol. I am sure you would be breaking Environmental Laws at the very least.
  9. Millen the Villain. Crazy Jack Gentleman George Barclay SKEBU - John Goodall - I can't remember why. All from Sunderland 'Stars'.
  10. The Lean Green Racing Machine that is - Andrew Tully. Roy's best one ever in my opinion. I still laugh about it today. Some of us used to chant along with him when he was saying it. GREAT FUN!!!
  11. Perhaps it will all come out eventually......... I am absolutely gutted by this debacle - I believed in this scheme for a National Speedway Stadium from the start, apart from a slight wobble when I wondered if it was ever going to happen. I think it is really sad that, whatever the causes, a superb initiative like the National Speedway Stadium has got off to just about the worst possible start that it could have done. I still have hopes that things will eventually work out well for Belle Vue and it's new Stadium. My confidence, though, is at a pretty low ebb. I wish the whole Project well, and my Team Belle Vue much success. We shall see.
  12. That would be the logical answer - however - I cannot see anyone wanting their Track to close in order to help other Teams staff theirs. I know I wouldn't if it affected me.
  13. Sadly you are right. Apparently we just do not have enough Riders to staff all of the Teams in the British Leagues - so what is the answer? I certainly don't know how you would square that particular circle.
  14. Not on Twitter myself - Twittering is for the birds and Donald Trump: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/18/politics/donald-trump-bird-trnd/
  15. Thank you Danny. :approve: At least a couple of Promoters have some sense.
  16. I would like to hear his views on 'Double Points'? Whether he is for - or - against.
  17. Whatever. :nono:  Nuffink rong wiv de yoof of t'day - if only you can understand what they are saying. No wot ah mean Bruv.
  18. Is there a doubt like? Genuine question - you have me worried.
  19. Dead right about the Track OveFundinFan. :approve: Plenty of maybes in OveFundinFan's Post but I don't see any tarnished reputations there iris123. You are possibly right about guesswork as regards the Forum - I don't know.
