Noooo ... if you don't make playoffs your season is potentially over by mid August. Its short enough already. -
Kings Lynn v Sheffield Monday 1st September

Great meeting to finish off the season, topped off with 5-4 to get the aggregate point. Frustrating that that's it for another season, and another year of what could have been... Roll on 2026 and if we keep our top 6 and can get good RS we ought to be in the mix again. Or a genuine no. 1 becomes available.. Luke is definitely one for the future, but maybe another year in championship and he'll be ready for PL. Always on the pace and never gives up -
Delivering newspapers as a kid a sliding round pavement corners whilst braking and singing there was only one michael lee. My dad wasn't best pleased when I wore my tyre out! And those bank holidays double headers, 11am at Saddlebow Road then all pile down to foxhall for the return in the afternoon. Happy days...

No. They've changed it again thank god, although they park you at the back facing the rear exit, you can simply turn round in the car park and exit the way you came in. -

King’s Lynn Stars vs Oxford Spires - 18.08.25

This team has always been very capable. Ben's injury, close away defeats an home and away to BV and Sheffield that could so easily have been wins - add a bit more confidence and belief and our season could have looked very different..... If this team all fit average wise again next season, I'd probably take it, especially if we can't attract a genuine no. 1.... -

Super Heat - Why its not right!!
kelvinht replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I quite liked what they tried a few seasons ago, but simpler 3 points for a win 2 points for a draw 1 point for losing by 6 of less Same for home and away teams. No bonus points (always helps tracks with bigger home advantage) and no super heats.... -

Super Heat - Why its not right!!

I don't see the need for a superheat. If it's a draw, it's a draw. Not convinced you should have one for the bonus point either as that typically favours the home team. What I would do is make matches 16 heats and have 2 nominated heats, where you have to use 4 different riders. Would benefit teams who aren't quite so top heavy and give us all an extra heat. Would need some thought as to which team names riders first and 7 ride max for a rider, not include heat 15/16 -
Interesting what Buster said about the track. However, watching from the terraces it didn't seem to give riders any trouble. Just seemed surprisingly slick, which played to Leicesters far superior gating strength. The sun is awkward as it shines directly onto start gate, but never used to be an issue, only seems to be a modern thing? Or was the sun in a different place on Saturday nights? The racing this year has been very good most meetings, but last night was truly awful. All the extra track work made s0d all difference to the racing, just dragged out what was basically a cr@p meeting. Thank God the crowd was poor... On a different subject, have they seen sense and opened the main gate to back car park again rather than clog up the industrial estate?

Tobies Thomsen suggests Lynn have given up hope of a top 4 spot - no disrespect but he's not PL 6 point standard and likely to have a field day at reserve.. and do well to match kemp and Joe Thompson
-
Looking at our remaining fixtures we've got a decent chance of at least 18 points.. Leicester at home 2pts Oxford and Birmingham home and away - 4 wins 2 bonus = 10pts BV and Sheffield home - 2 wins and bonus points - 6pts Just that Suffolk lot away to deal with.. Sheffield (rather than Leicester) just might be catchable....
-
The best thing about these changes is it gives Kings Lynn a sniff of 4th place above the tigers.... I could easily see the Stars going through the rest of our league meetings unbeaten... Sheffield are more catchable than Leicester....

We missed a trick there I think.. our 2 replacements, although showing plenty of promise, aren't quite ready for the fast track reserve spot yet, but deffo ones for the future... so perhaps that's Robs plan to use the best one next season once they have some experience behind them this year...
