  1. Riss had an off at kings lynn, can't remember which match, but after that was never quite as quick, put it down to not having another bike that was as quick. MPT and Riss should be shoe ins for me as they did hold their own on the road. Problems were 2 misfiring heat leaders and tj, lewi and what other reserve we could muster bring pants on the road
  2. No GP wild card for Lambert, hopefully that means he'll do the UK next season, and that'll be good news for the Stars. A year out of GP's will help him rediscover his form of 2018 and push for GP's again in 2021.....
  3. Still miss the days of Pride of the East to bring the curtain down on the current season. Could be done early October, throw in a few riders we want to look at for 2020, maybe change format to that of SGP to keep riders interest up through the meeting. Kind of fizzled out too early this year and a long winter ahead
  4. Need Lewis to be on it for definite to help cover r/r and a weak porsing. We be pleasantly surprised if we beat the Robins
  5. Hope it's not Thursday. Swindon home Monday and heading off to Cardiff Friday. Thursday as well for a meaningless fixture, forget it.
  6. Agree with most of this. Think Lewis started slow, unsurprising after his injuries last season, but has been making good progress lately, so I'd have him in. Regarding fixed race nights, almost worked as a lot less clashes, the tweak it needs is to split matches over Mon and Thurs, 2 each night at most to leave options for suitable guests for injuries
  7. It's probably because King's Lynn isn't spelt p-o-o-l-e
  8. King's Lynn to win at Wolves next week..... that'll put a different spin on things
  9. Have faith, surely we've got to win somewhere away this season... PLEASE!
  10. So, Ippo lose again, if swindon beat them in their final home match then by my reckoning that makes it interesting for us stars. Win at Wolves and our final two home matches, puts us in with a sniff of playoffs :-)
  11. Acid test for the Stars, it's one thing banging in big scores at home, another matter to carry that form away. I'd like to think we can, but am ready to be disappointed. BV still have to go back to a much weakened Peterborough, so even a loss tomorrow is not the end of the world as they have another good chance to pick up points on the road and put a spanner in our dreams of making playoffs...
  12. Meetings pace was almost perfect last night, how it should be. It was helped by not a single restart due to movement at start. Still don't understand why there is such a long gap between heats 14 and 15.
  13. Tero rode well, his two points didn't really do him justice, 2 falls on a very grippy track early doors not helping. For me, a better option than our current injured no 7
  14. How did Lambert get all those rides, he never looked like scoring after Garrity unintentionally but the wotsits up him in his first ride. Kerr should have taken two of them. Simon is the only rider who can rlead into turn one but be last by turn two! Couldn't work out Harris either, in his first ride he appeared to be all over Tungate with out making the pass, looked like he didn't want too, then in his second ride seemed to be inviting Nicholls through. Any why no MPT in heat 15, surely he deserved it over at least Harris... Just as well we weren't against a better team. Belle Vue may not be quite so easy on Thursday, particularly if Frike rides
  15. Always a possibility, they were certainly punching above their weight early season and are looking very fragile now
  16. Stars need to win all their remaining matches, home and away, to stand any sort of chance. Unfortunately Swidon and BV both have an away match at Peterborough, do on current form both will pick up away wins there which will make it doubly difficult for us
  17. I thought that too, but forecast is better tomorrow. But with the micro climate at saddlebow road, might as well call it now and rearrange.... lol
  18. Regularly happens at many meetings by many riders and not just Eastbourne and looks thoroughly unprofessional.....
  19. Peterborough will need guests as well I presume, Stars Select v Panthers Select. On paper, with 3 potentially injured riders, we one our 'easier' matches, hope it doesn't turn out to be a banana skin.
  20. True, but we are so hit and miss this season, so getting them all firing on the same night would take a minor miracle. That said, you'd like to think the Stars could all click away from home on same night at least once this season!
  21. Not sure where this will end up. Didn't realise until I looked at the fixtures, we only have 3 away matches left. Short of a minor miracle can't see us picking up much at Belle Vue, Poole or Wolves. Not convinced our home form will get us into playoffs. If we sneak it on home form then anything could be possible I guess
  22. I assume no news means we'll soldier on with Simon until Broc fit?
  23. If Robert Lambert and Cookie can get a similar number of points to Doyle and Batchelor, then the stars will win. By my reckoning rest of the team should equal or out score their opposite numbers. 48-42 to Stars
