  1. Out team is built to the team average allowed this season, so in theory is no stronger or weaker than any other team. All teams have strengths and weaknesses through their teams, I'm not sure there is a clear favourite at the moment. Yes it depends on how each rider goes and you would hope our top two do the business more regularly than last season. That takes the pressure off the bottom end a little, hopefully enable them to score better... If it goes pear shaped early doors then the promotion need to be more on the ball than last season when changes were made way too late. Top 4 out of 7 should be achievable, then it's anyone's guess. .
  2. So, when do we get the final piece of the team jigsaw announced?
  3. Beat me to it! Is he related to Ali Bongo? He might be a magic signing if that's the case!
  4. Think that's Cookie as well, mind you I mistook Schroek for Riss the other week, so not sure I can be trusted!
  5. Peter Schroek now saying we need to give more British youngsters a chance. I read that as we'll have a youngster at no. 7, not necessarily a very experienced one, which maybe means not Cookie....or we will be understrength before we even start
  6. But I like the idea of 5% reduction! Would give British riders even better chance of team places. Always felt 2.5% was a bit low
  7. Not SL please! He'll get zero points away and on a good day will pick up a few at home. I'm no expert, but he's still not mastered the art of sliding a bike round a corner. Goodness only knows how he has eke'd out a career so long
  8. Riss did look slow towards end of season, but put that down to loss of his no.1 bike, and others not being quite as quick. I think it'll be Harris plus a suprise signing. Would give us a solid look
  9. Basically a good shape, but do think a bit of extra width in the bends (and hence slightly shorter straights) would help.....
  10. Wouldn't surprise me if Harris ended up being in the team, He couldn't get to grips with Foxhole and has got to be better than his current average. On his day he can put in a decent top rider score and win crucial heats
  11. Cook arrived too late, for some reason we seemed to have nearly all our away matches in the first half of the season, so limited opportunities to get anything on the road once cook arrived. Hope there is a better spread in 2020
  12. I'm liking the much better paced announcements this year, although would hope we'll be all done and dusted by the new year, or early new year. It's Bartosz Zmarzlik on a 7 point average
  13. MPT is definitely the better all round rider home and away than both lewis and tj and should have been on the team sheet. Be surprised if we can fit him in now. Our loss is someone else's gain. Sentiment does not win the league
  14. Assuming Robert Lambert returns and shows his 2018 form that'll make a big difference. That would lift the rest of the team, whether that's the same team as last year or not. The key could simply be the right no. 7
  15. Definitely not an inspiring start, hope the next announcements are better
  16. Broc Nichol has signed for Wolves, thought we had him signed earlier this year, so lined up for 2020. looks like a few decent sides out there being announced, wonder what inspiring options we'll be left with
  17. True, but don't mind one at a time or all at once, but if it is one a time every couple of weeks at most so we know by early in the new year
  18. Whatever the team next year, I just hope the announcements aren't drip fed through til March
  19. Would happily have Klindt in the team, being a gater he goes well every where, and has stated he does not want to drop a league. My only issue, is he looks a bit like Erik with beard and shaved head... might confuse the two
  20. Tend to agree - its in the best interests of the sport for teams to agree in a professional manner..... I also think the cut off date for matches (and hence fines) MUST be BEFORE semi-finals of the competition (whether league or supporters cup).
  21. I had planned to go, but my 120 mile round trip with the dodgy weather forecast put me off. Shame, as I as looking forward to once last speedway fix before winter sets in. Hopefully they'll do something similar again next season with better weather, both teams looked like a nice mix of riders, and I was looking forward to see Rowe and Kemp round the AFA
  22. I really don't get all these race night arguments. If it's midweek which ever day it is, you gain some you lose some due to work commitments. Friday and Saturday you are more likely to get kids along so potential for bigger crowd depending on what other local attractions are on at same time, but for the top league that's a no go due to all the international meetings. So for PL fixed nights on Monday/Thursday to avoid other leagues is the way to go. Much prefer that to guests and r/r. Supporters will get used to it.
  23. Looking forward to that one - much closer to me than Kings Lynn. Not sure where they'll ride though......local council and nimby's normally put blockers on any hope of that one in my life time
