  1. It was 21.55 when i got in me car. Not sure it could have been much quicker. Second grade was very quick. The main issues were the two on the trot due to stars using r/r, couple of falls and a few tapes offences by the Leicester boys. All added up in the end, even though ref was fairly smart with two minutes. I would like a clock on centre green and riders having to be ready to start after 2 minutes and not still gardening for ages after. Sure some must have been longer.
  2. That was an easier win than expected tonight. This year's team really are a team of fighters. Even Josh fitted in nicely. If MPT ends up with a lot of clashes, he would be a good shout. Racing this year is definitely much better than last season or two. Only complaint was the temperature, felt more like March than May!
  3. Are Leicester allowed guests for all 3 heatleaders? #unsureoflatestrules
  4. With no disrespect to auty, what is allit thinking about going that way with guests. We'll do well to win, let alone turn over a 6 point deficit. Don't know why we bothered to keep it close at Beaumont park
  5. Guest for NKI and R/R for mpt allows us to use all bar Lambert and the guest. Should work ok. God knows what patched up team Leicester will bring. What a pile of sh1te. Shows how stupid Monday and Wednesday are. Right idea cr@p execution as always by BSPA
  6. Don't forget, when this was rearranged, it was simply moved to one of the original league dates between the two teams, so hardly a new date to work around
  7. Is everyone panicking too soon. There has been no official news about Wednesday teams yet. Buster was quoted as saying NKI would miss only one more meeting (home?). Jorgensen was also mentioned but can't remember what was said. Why sign MPT if he is now gonna miss a load of matches....surely Busted isn't THAT stupid?
  8. Stars to sneak a win, but in some ways I hope we suffer a narrow defeat to make the return leg a bit more interesting!
  9. Exactly. Got home at 11.30pm on Wednesday night due to late finish and roadworks. (Normally about an hour's journey on a good night for me). Up again at 6am for work :-( Certainly can't bring children during term time.
  10. Yeah, we never seem to have any luck with injuries. We've missed out several times when looking good. This team is up with the best of them. Hope we can break our hoo-doo
  11. It was a short interval compared to what we have endured in the past. Once the slightly longer grading had taken place it was straight on with the action. There were then no more grading breaks. The bit that continues to annoy me is the time between heat 14 and 15. Team managers must know who they are going to put in by then, so should be straight on with it, slightly longer if someone has two on trot
  12. Read somewhere that those road works have finished. Hoping the resurfacing between swaffham and dereham have finished. Normally just over an hour to get home for me, but with two lots of roadworks was over one and half hours last time!
  13. The hot laps should feed into the meeting in someway. Either the team with the rider with fastest lap gets to chose gate positions, replacing coin toss. Or you compare each rider with their opposite number, team that won most get a 1 or 2 point head start in meeting - it's a bit more radical, but more meaningful - would need rules around r/r in teams
  14. Assured performance from the Stars. Best racing we've seen at the AFA for quite a while, don't recall as much overtaking all last season. Lambert certainly appears to have stepped it up a notch. Jury is out on Kasper, looks like he has potential, but is going to take time to get dialled in. Not sure how he'll cope with some of the smaller tracks though! Looking forward to a successful season! Bewley was definitely the pick of the Aces. Agree with others that hot laps need to be for both teams. Good idea though to keep pre meeting interesting. Do we really need an interval? Would flow better with just the programmed grading breaks.
  15. Don't tell your wife it's been called off and that you've chosen her instead of speedway. You'll really be in her good books then :-)
  16. Forecast suggests a dry evening, but with almost constant rain until then I can't see how a decent race track is going to be prepared. Track covers is the only answer but no one seems prepared to invest. At this rate we'll have a stockpile of meetings in September, not sure how they'll be fitted in withb only Monday and Wednesdays available... and 10th already taken!
  17. I just hope we aren't hanging on the Polish decision regarding NKI and end up in a mess like we did a couple of seasons ago when he was able to help us out, cos this time he won't be able to. It'll be all or nothing. Just hope we have a good plan B before all the decent riders are snapped up
  18. There was talk of poles relaxing their limit on number of other teams, guess that may depend on uk going fixed race nights
  19. Simple solution, let's all call him JT, like everyone refers to a certain Pole as KK as it is impossible to spell his name as well. Get well soon JT, nasty crash :-(
  20. The only way to stop these 'injuries' is to bring in a rule across Europe that if you miss a meeting for injury it has to be a minimum 3 days for all meetings. Probably also need to include sickness in that. Also need the same blanket ban for concussion across all the leagues
  21. Why has it gone so wrong? A few years back riders were queueing up to join the stars. We were the place to be. That was still under the control of Buster
  22. Thought it was mentioned last night Kai was feeling unwell, hence only 3 rides. We've seen him improve this year, but seems to have struggled since moving out of reserve. If he continues to improve and get more consistency he'd be worth a punt next year. We certainly seem to have lots of options, but as ever its a case of a decent no.1 then get the calculator out for the rest of the team
  23. There is no one similar to NKI. Anyone else would be second best :-)
  24. Don't worry, supposed to be a tad breezy on Wednesday, expecting another wind off (forecast does have it easing off in afternoon, but you never know with busters micro climate! )
  25. Robert, over time could become the next Bettsy. Lee, nah, different class. Lee was streets ahead at his age. Like the Holder post! Just shows he can ride dodgy tracks when he wants too.
