  1. That exact scenario has happened for Craig Cook and Harland Cook in the last 2 seasons. So just because it's in the news section of the BSPA website doesn't mean it's been ratified.
  2. But the BSPA/Morrish have set a precedent of using heat leader's old averages and not assessing averages (e.g. Richard Hall). So it's not fair to do it for one rider/team but not another.
  3. It shouldn't be based on opinion, it should be based on facts of the averages. We don't yet know what Hurry is on but 7.48 just isn't enough! And to say it wouldn't be mentioned if it was IOW, Kent or Buxton is just stupid. Show me where any of those 3 clubs have brought a rider in on an artificially low average? They haven't and have actually been penalised (IOW and Cook, Buxton and no guest facility for Perks yet at least one other club has).
  4. The starting averages are under 39.00 and Woolley replaces Mason from the original side which is also fine. The issue is Wallinger's current average is lower than Cupitt so he should be at reserve.
  5. Lakeside have really benefitted from Morley having 2 dodgy meetings to allow this move to happen and drop below the points limit. But even then, Hurry seems to be on a low average!
  6. Brilliant top 2 but then they face the Warriors next who equally have a brilliant top 2. The move has increased the team strength though and will keep the scores respectable away as well.
  7. Can you offer a rationale as to why the rule was brought in?
  8. Buxton have signed somebody for Perks, from next week, that puts them over the limit so an injured Dicken is out for a 3 pointer. Who's about on an average that big? I can only think of Jacobs.
  9. Govier's injured so his average won't drop as he's not getting the meetings in to get a new average.
  10. That's a Birmingham road to go down and off topic tbh. That rule has been applied every year as a starting average and not a current average. Until Carr, but now he's been dropped and conveniently the date he couldn't ride NL was until he got dropped so make of that as you do.
  11. Exactly so those calling for the end of the Young Stars are harsh and premature. They've developed good riders in the past that have progressed into the main Stars side and there's no reason why they can't do that in the future with some of the ones starting out now.
  12. That's harsh. Hampshire has posted some good scores in the NL and Locke is as good as some other number 6s. It's their top 2-5 that's lacking and Rowe beat their number 5 in the averages, but then you wouldn't expect Rowe to beat the opposition's top 4 anyway.
  13. Greaves is a shout but he's still a Warrior! Roynon probably doesn't not want NL, Clegg isn't eligible and Greenwood & Johnson have retired. Eastbourne announced it a couple of days ago.
  14. Who are they supposed to sign though? Only Jacobs comes to mind.
  15. It should make sure Eastbourne progress, but we've already seen this season that Brennan hasn't been used well tactically.
  16. Swindon just should have to use current averages to replace riders from their declared intended 1-7. Which is exactly how the guest system works for everyone else! Rather than Ayres (9.00) being able to replace Zach (8.59) just because Ayres' starting average was smaller (8.56), for example.
  17. Called off. So we'll never know how Drury's master plan was going to turn out.
  18. Clearly a tactical move there as Hopwood in rather than JPB R/R strengthens you massively. So Roberts is missing as his family have work but the club would've known that when they put their initial team out with him riding! Whilst Roberts R/R facilitates this and Hopwood and 3 rides from Cupitt will get you way more than he would e scored in his 4 guaranteed outings. I'd be surprised if Brummies don't win this.
  19. I thought this would be a relatively comfortable Brummies win until JPB's injury. He'd had been good for 11pts from 5 rides but Ritchings, Cupitt, Leek & Roberts won't get anywhere near that for R/R and it also means Leek & Roberts have to take at least 4 rides each. Edit: Who's Hopwood in for?
  20. He beat Cupitt the only time he faced him and headed home all his Young Stars team mates. That's all he needs to do really as realistically you wouldn't expect him to beat Birmingham's top 4. I wouldn't expect him to do that in a Warriors jacket, that's down to Wilson, Cockle & Greaves (or whoever). If Widman beats Cupitt again, I'll be happy.
  21. Before the averages change, yes. No chance will you be able to accommodate Knight for Coles afterwards.
  22. Yeah that's right. If you're over the points limit (which Eastbourne will be) you can only replace riders like for like. You can't take 2 riders out and add their averages together, as you'd need to move back under the points limit.
