  1. Just ensure there's no fixture clashes in the play-offs and they will.
  2. At least Tedham and RTD score a few at home. Speight has been rubbish all season, that's 2 points in 5 meetings now!
  3. Money is an issue but it's not just that clubs can afford to pay more but the 'bigger' clubs have better sponsorship. Look at Eastbourne and the amazing support of IT First, yet Buxton have nothing like that. If KL did then that money/sponsorship would go on the Stars not Young Stars! But it's not just about money. Even if King's Lynn YS had all the fans and sponsors in the world, who is supposed to replace Hughes, Bailey & Phillips whilst giving the fans a competitive team that makes them spend money on 2 sides?! But that's not just a KL issue! Plymouth had a problem finding a second heat leader which meant they didn't sign Bates as well, Isle of Wight have had bottom end team problems since the turn of the year and it took Buxton months to find another committed heat leader alongside Williamson!
  4. Add to that Lakeside's press release suggesting that Spooner is a injury replacement! Possibly only for this weekend. Total mess.
  5. It does, but as Dale has pointed out, it's moving in the direction that the majority want.
  6. Exactly true. A precedent was set but now it's been ignored (again). I agree that Morrish is the man behind this, but surely Cook has an obligation to explain this to his customers. It's not just a few fans who have questioned this, lots have and several promoters have.
  7. Awful news! Jayne definitely has a point. The standard of the league is being driven up but that also means costs are going up too. Not to mention because there was literally a record number of 12 NL teams, it's hard to find the riders to spread round the team's.
  8. I fear that because this is the NL it'll get brushed under the carpet again. But for the integrity of the league, I hope not.
  9. True, I just meant we've had no explanation of 7.44 let alone 7.66 and that figure just happens to fit with dropping Hunter to get Hurry in, now that people have complained at 7.44 being too low. Either/both averages need an explanation as they both seem figures plucked from nowhere.
  10. Connor Dugard says he was told Hurry's average was much higher than that at the start of the season. It appears that Mason is wondering exactly the same (that's off Twitter for Gustix)! Are we going to get an explanation as to how that's been arrived at? It seems convenient that it's only a little bit more than the 7.44 hence dropping Hunter for a 3.00 rider accommodates the change.
  11. It remains to be seen if he gets more rides. Warriors are using MacDonald for the 2 meetings this weekend.
  12. That's why I put guest in inverted commas. They can bring Spooner in as an unattached 3.00 rider, just most clubs tend to use them at reserve. However if Hunter is still in the declaration but injured, all I can see being eligible is R/R.
  13. Which riders? It was Bowen and Thomas I think.
  14. So Hurry rides this weekend and then his average goes up?! He's either eligible now or he never is! I read the PR thinking he was coming in as a 'guest', but thinking about it they'll have no-one else missing so could only use R/R if he's injured. So maybe Spooner has been signed.
  15. Hopefully we see more of Woodhull after that performance.
  16. When Mason got dropped earlier this week Mason said that he'd agreed to Kelvin's proposal to not ride for Swindon this week, in order to stay fit for his Lakeside commitments.
  17. Does Mason want to be back though? He's riding for Swindon today now after Kelvin initially told him not to.
  18. Guests use the average of the rider they're replacing. So the answer is 8.59 technically, but it was a challenge so they can do what they want.
  19. Normal Wolves admission prices. Do you think it's enough time to get from Birmingham?
  20. There's 2 threads been set up Swindon by 6-8 for me.
  21. That exact scenario has happened for Craig Cook and Harland Cook in the last 2 seasons. So just because it's in the news section of the BSPA website doesn't mean it's been ratified.
  22. But the BSPA/Morrish have set a precedent of using heat leader's old averages and not assessing averages (e.g. Richard Hall). So it's not fair to do it for one rider/team but not another.
  23. It shouldn't be based on opinion, it should be based on facts of the averages. We don't yet know what Hurry is on but 7.48 just isn't enough! And to say it wouldn't be mentioned if it was IOW, Kent or Buxton is just stupid. Show me where any of those 3 clubs have brought a rider in on an artificially low average? They haven't and have actually been penalised (IOW and Cook, Buxton and no guest facility for Perks yet at least one other club has).
  24. The starting averages are under 39.00 and Woolley replaces Mason from the original side which is also fine. The issue is Wallinger's current average is lower than Cupitt so he should be at reserve.
  25. Lakeside have really benefitted from Morley having 2 dodgy meetings to allow this move to happen and drop below the points limit. But even then, Hurry seems to be on a low average!
