  1. I think he means it explains why Saul is in instead of Spooner as opposed to an explanation of why the meeting was cancelled.
  2. They're a decent team now imo as they have an awesome top 2, and probably the best in the league considering neither doubles-up so no fixture clashes. Compton is a good third heat leader and they'll always have a decent reserve in Atkins, Walker or Andrews. Especially now Andrews has found some form and he clearly knows a fast way round the SBA. They'll be hard to beat at home now and still have Buxton, Isle of Wight and Stoke away so some good opportunities for away points. They should be good for around 5th/6th place. Compton's average was always going to fall but they've got lucky with Andrews' drop. He hit a paid maximum in the National Trophy! They also got lucky with having such a difficult first 4 league fixtures to give everyone a low average! Additionally Atkins has been impressive this season, as well as Boxall & Walker, as others have said.
  3. It should have gone to golden heats or some variation of that. When the ties are already home and away and each team races each other 4 times in the league anyway, another 2 meetings to split them is just excessive and causes hold-ups in the competition.
  4. Rob: 'any moves will be looking to future seasons as well as this one'. So is one signing an assessed newcomer? That's not worked out very well lately with Holub, Lyager & Wallner all coming in and seeing their averages drop but then not return for very long for differing reasons.
  5. That's why they have such a powerful top end. But Roynon has been dropped in the Championship, so what's he supposed to do? Not ride at all?!
  6. Phenomenal top 2 now with Roynon in! It looks a good team actually, from the Devils' point of view it's a pity they already have 2 home losses in a play-off quest.
  7. Yeah seems like he'll continue with Birmingham at least.
  8. Gutting news for Brummies fans and British speedway. Maybe Hall can finally be fitted into the NL on his large average, with JPB currently on 11.27. Equally unless Jack comes back this season he's made himself unemployable in the NL unfortunately.
  9. Gutting decision for Tigers & Brummies fans. He'd been happily taking numerous guest bookings too so it seems so out of the blue.
  10. Unless Spooner gets his average up they can't sign Hunter for him.
  11. National Trophy finalists! It's a long wait until you find out your opponents though.
  12. Interesting to put your best 2 riders, on paper, together.
  13. Spooner has been useful this season, just from Kent's point of view he not a 15 year old with great prospects (Rowe) or ready to be the senior reserve (Andrews). Spooner knew he was initially in for Rowe until Rowe turned 15 and it was upto Spooner to impress. Based on his multiple Warriors guest appearances and his Lakeside and Eastbourne team spots numerous teams have thought he's done well.
  14. Kent seem unhappy again that another club is using Spooner.
  15. You've all got your answer. Knight is back alongside Spooner! So presumably the hold up was due to Lakeside wanting Spooner for a weekend?? It also meant that Brennan stayed at reserve for as long as possible.
  16. Lewis Kerr and whoever the new number 7 is will cover that ruling.
  17. All this talk of Nielsen, is he even fit?
  18. Long-term I think he's better than those 2 but scores now suggest otherwise. Locke's averaging 1.50 this season compared to Laurence on 3.04 & Couzins on 2.53. Of course Lakeside have a better home track advantage than King's Lynn to help push that figure up though.
  19. Afternoon meetings are poorer anywhere imo, I doubt it's a Lakeside issue. Whilst Lakeside's top heavy and pretty unbalanced team is going to inevitably make processional racing. Not many riders will beat Morley, Zach or Hurry but then lots of teams bottom 3 riders are better than Couzins, Spooner & Laurence, but even if the Hammers' trio gate then you're talking about weaker opposition riders who won't be good at passing anyway! But most of the moans seem to be from Claret73, who moans at everything and hasnt even gone in the flesh.
  20. So Cook got his own way, yet calls other promoters 'idiots'. Right...
  21. It's not just a heat leader you lose in Auty though, it's entertainment at the EWR. That needs replacing though and someone like Hansen has never struck me as entertaining.
  22. As Dandelion says it's £10 per point plus expenses. Whilst I agree that £10 is too low for current times, the rules say £10 maximum so Cook & Tatum should pay £10 maximum until they advocate the rules get changed at the AGM.
