'A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is Doubling Up, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: - 1) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture 2)1st priority to the owner of the rider 3) 2nd priority to the previous season club 4) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member.' By applying the order of priority, Rye's fixtures are not 're-arranged' and both clubs have original fixtures in their fixture lists. Therefore moving down, 2 and 3 aren't relevant so 4 should be used. Now I believe Edinburgh should get priority, but the rules don't say that. Rye's fixtures havent been rearranged and they're not even rearranged for Wells' point of view, they've been added in! You can't even apply the logic to Wells rather than his clubs, as for a fixture to be rearranged for Wells it must have been their in the first place (i.e. originally) but it wasn't their for Wells until yesterday and nothing has changed since then. They are still original fixtures for him and for the club.

I guess we'll find out tonight. The Dorset Echo said he missed last night with a knee injury.

Riss is riding a lot better this year for Edinburgh than last year but it's a lot to ask of the guy to hit the ground running in a higher division when he's only just finding his feet in the second tier. He may yet find it harder in the top 5 of a Championship team when ironically Clegg drops down as he could find form fuelled with a confidence boosting heat 2 win most meetings.

Yeah it may well do but weakens them at home if he's still missing on Sunday. -
It might attract a few old school Lakeside fans to attend who are skeptical of the drop down 2 tiers too.

Auty is out injured for Leicester tonight so I assume it'll be R/R for the Scorpions at the weekend too. -
Clegg simply can't ride NL & Championship. The rules don't allow him to DU. He has been much poorer this season than last season so something is clearly different and that could be no confidence boosting NL heat wins.
-
The rules say Rye have priority. Common sense says Edinburgh should have priority. Speedway rules haha!

The first paragraph is particularly interesting in regards to Lakeside's future because the AGM is likely to remain that early in the season and so the fixtures stumbling block will forever remain. That's irrespective of Lakeside's finances, watering down of the leagues and traffic issues.
-
Good to hear they're completed. I thought that was the reason for moving down as top flight riders can't do Saturday or Sunday racing. So surely they could've stayed in the top division? This meeting is a challenge so they can do what they want (for example, Hopwood replaces Govier tonight for the Warriors). However in an official fixture they can't use Hurry as, like you say, he's not in a team or an unattached 3.00 rider.
-
I thought the reason Lakeside dropped down was because they didn't want to run on Friday nights anymore due to the traffic.
-
Seems strange to reset rolling averages for the second tier. They're in effect not rolling averages this season. Totally understandable for the top tier though.
-
So a rolling average from the previous season doesn't count? We're starting afresh this year, even in the second tier.

If Lakeside ever do well away then it should be at Kent. Morley has probably won more races there than anybody, Zach should beat everybody bar Bowen, Mason will actually score as a heat leader and it's basically a home meeting for Couzins. If the Hammers struggle again then I think it shows how lacking they will be away from the raceway.
-
Waco you've got your wish with Couzins! MacDonald never seems to get a long enough run in an NL side to prove himself properly. Everyone predicted Mason would be like that. He's a top contender for the largest difference between home and away averages in the league.

Kent Kings V Mildenhall (ch) Good Friday 14/4/17

Fair enough I just thought with Peterborough being a popular practice track he'd have ridden the place before and he's from Anglia isn't he so he must have ridden KL a bit. Yeah he has gone under the radar but I think that's because he wasn't taking 7 rides and scoring massive figures like some riders, rather steady and continual improvement. -

Stoneman has had a very good start to the season and likes going out wide! Thomas looked poor in the British U21semi so I wasn't expecting that score from him but good on him for getting things sorted. -
Fair enough but if you're referring to Hackney at Arena Essex, the NL is a genuinely stronger League than those days.

If anyone is going tonight and able to text for the updates site can you please reply here or message me on here or the updates site.
-
So you're expecting a poorer than usual track due to it being afternoon, apart from your top 2 even the home riders won't have got used to the raceway until yesterday and most, if not all, of Eastbourne's riders will never have ridden the place before! But you're still judging a whole season against one meeting. Give the club and the riders a chance to prove that the NL is worthwhile. It's still Lakeside after all and you still have a team after all.

I agree but the texter tonight is on pay as you go! -
Riders are going to find Lakeside's track difficult at first. You just need to give them chance.
