  1. This season's Luke Harris has been miles better than last season's. It'll be interesting to see how well he goes on a track he should know.
  2. Coles will be riding for your lot but Perry will be missing for Cradley, as he's at Glasgow.
  3. A good signing that strengthens the team.
  4. I agree that Mason is doing his job. I wasnt meaning to criticise him. I was meaning to point out that he's done nothing spectacular either and his average is slightly inflated at this point in the season by 1 of his 2 away meetings being at Kent where he's ridden the past couple of years. Also yes I did mention Stoneman and his scores for Kent havent been good but he's still beaten Mason at Lakeside and I saw Stoneman in the U21 semi where he was impressive, from the back, and beat Shanes in a great race.
  5. So the lack of a tactical ride is here to stay and that seems to be what the majority on this thread want too.
  6. He may have a decent average atm but Mason won't have an easier away track than Kent. He's ridden there enough lately. Whilst yesterday he couldn't beat the opposition's second and third heat leaders when, with respect, other team's have more powerful numbers 3 & 5. He's had an alright start to the season but surely a 7pt average is only alright.
  7. Laurence was a strange signing. He's been around years and never improved much and hasn't even had a team for a couple of years. Yet he got a spot straight away, months ago, whereas the likes of Couzins and MacDonald had to 'try out'. But there's not much difference between them all.
  8. Rearrange means change or move around. That hasn't happened, just more dates have been added. If a team makes the next play-offs they're not 'rearranged' fixtures just because they were t there at the start of the season, but more fixtures added. Nevertheless Edinburgh should get priority but it's not worded that way.
  9. This is a very pedantic argument. The juniors before the meeting will have all been teenagers with some not even at the league racing minimum age yet. They're actually kids and aren't yet at league standard.
  10. 'A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is Doubling Up, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: - 1) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture 2)1st priority to the owner of the rider 3) 2nd priority to the previous season club 4) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member.' By applying the order of priority, Rye's fixtures are not 're-arranged' and both clubs have original fixtures in their fixture lists. Therefore moving down, 2 and 3 aren't relevant so 4 should be used. Now I believe Edinburgh should get priority, but the rules don't say that. Rye's fixtures havent been rearranged and they're not even rearranged for Wells' point of view, they've been added in! You can't even apply the logic to Wells rather than his clubs, as for a fixture to be rearranged for Wells it must have been their in the first place (i.e. originally) but it wasn't their for Wells until yesterday and nothing has changed since then. They are still original fixtures for him and for the club.
  11. I guess we'll find out tonight. The Dorset Echo said he missed last night with a knee injury.
  12. Riss is riding a lot better this year for Edinburgh than last year but it's a lot to ask of the guy to hit the ground running in a higher division when he's only just finding his feet in the second tier. He may yet find it harder in the top 5 of a Championship team when ironically Clegg drops down as he could find form fuelled with a confidence boosting heat 2 win most meetings.
  13. Yeah it may well do but weakens them at home if he's still missing on Sunday.
  14. It might attract a few old school Lakeside fans to attend who are skeptical of the drop down 2 tiers too.
  15. Auty is out injured for Leicester tonight so I assume it'll be R/R for the Scorpions at the weekend too.
  16. Clegg simply can't ride NL & Championship. The rules don't allow him to DU. He has been much poorer this season than last season so something is clearly different and that could be no confidence boosting NL heat wins.
  17. The rules say Rye have priority. Common sense says Edinburgh should have priority. Speedway rules haha!
  18. The first paragraph is particularly interesting in regards to Lakeside's future because the AGM is likely to remain that early in the season and so the fixtures stumbling block will forever remain. That's irrespective of Lakeside's finances, watering down of the leagues and traffic issues.
  19. Good to hear they're completed. I thought that was the reason for moving down as top flight riders can't do Saturday or Sunday racing. So surely they could've stayed in the top division? This meeting is a challenge so they can do what they want (for example, Hopwood replaces Govier tonight for the Warriors). However in an official fixture they can't use Hurry as, like you say, he's not in a team or an unattached 3.00 rider.
  20. I thought the reason Lakeside dropped down was because they didn't want to run on Friday nights anymore due to the traffic.
  21. Seems strange to reset rolling averages for the second tier. They're in effect not rolling averages this season. Totally understandable for the top tier though.
  22. So a rolling average from the previous season doesn't count? We're starting afresh this year, even in the second tier.
