  1. You can't if the rider in question (Hughes) hasn't ridden in an official meeting.
  2. Campos isn't a number 1 but he's never claimed to be a number 1. He shouldn't be expected to replicate the scoring that Hughes would've done because he's not at that standard, but he should be judged on his own recent abilities. He added a point to his average last season and did pretty well. Last season the Isle of Wight signed Chris Widman to replace their number 1. He clearly isn't a number 1, but that didn't mean that Widman was poor because he was judged on if he himself improved. Sometimes it's difficult to find riders who's averages 'fit'.
  3. Shanes doesn't want the NL & Jacobs and Sarjeant's averages are too high.
  4. Campos had a practice at Peterborough recently so I was expecting him in the team. It makes sense though because there's no number 1s out there for KL to get at this late stage and at least he's a decent rider who goes well at the Norfolk Arena. It seemed too early for him to retire anyway.
  5. Halder is the best of the lot not yet signed up.
  6. Ayres Smith Graversen Bailey Shanes Perks Wajtknecht Greaves
  7. I can see Cradley nicking this as it's a former gone track for Perry, Harris and essentially Lawlor and Ayres always did well there last season. I think the Birmingham team is a bit of a drop down from the previous 2 years and people will be expecting Cupitt to do a Wajtknecht or a JPB, which is unfair on him.
  8. It sounds like Manzares will be at Central Park.
  9. So Couzins has been practising then! Does he want a full-time NL spot?
  10. Ah I see haha. I dont know if those pair have had much practice this winter either but Laurence has been around years and never broken past a 3.something average and Whitmore looked well off the NL pace last season.
  11. I've always liked Parker tbh. Hopefully that's a positive sign for Mullins that he'll do alright once he's shaken off the expected rustiness.
  12. Yeah they will tbh, apart from Basford because his average is over 3.00. It doesn't make sense for them to redeclare.
  13. I'd go for Rob Parker tbh. I think Ben Basford said he's taking a year out and Leek is a candidate for a Warriors reserve spot.
  14. I think Jenkins will do really well and give Mildenhall 4 genuine heat leaders. Brennan will be very good at home and I think he'll soon improve away.
  15. I'd be inclined to agree that the Chanpionship this season is too much for Brennan & Jenkins but then Bewley was impressive by going straight into it. But it's a non-starter anyway as both are still 15 years old.
  16. He's had tons more competitive practice than Smith & Bewley, but that doesn't necessarily make him better than them, but hard to compare. It's easier to compare him to JPB though and I'd suggest they would be on par with each other at 15 years old.
  17. True but it's putting down a marker by signing him now.
  18. Bickley's already signed up for the 2018 Comets!
  19. They could use whichever of the Woodhull's is officially number 8.
  20. Auty rides well at number 5 usually, so I'd put him there and Kerr at 3 personally.
  21. Good to see an opportunity given to two genuinely talented riders. Who are the rumoured 3 further signings?
  22. I agree. The 3.00 average was dubious but other clubs benefittied from getting a rider on 3.50 on a very similar situation last season, so the Warriors should've done too.
  23. What a joke that is! In keeping with recent riders who have returned to the shale, he should be reassessed at 3.50 or use his 2009 average of 3.00. Cook was a rider I was looking forwards to watching and the Warriors will be weaker without him.
