Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4

Well according to *arsloes we should go to Specsavers as we could not see the "bumper" crowd last night. They must have been hiding somewhere. -

What was the crowd then ? If the crowd last night was a bumper crowd, god help Speedway. -

Whoever wrote the report on the Kent Website and said it was a `Bumper Crowd` must be deluded. And Chris Hunt saying if Danny Ayres had rode Kent would of won ??? Sorry Chris you will not beat a team like Cradley when the team has 3 obvious weak links. -

This is my take and opinion of last nights meeting in which I left before the end as it was more strung out than the washing. I have never seen so many riders not making the 2 minutes which did not help. A few falls and fence damage which also caused stoppages. We had the FARCE of Perks throwing his toys out of the pram refusing to go,then going back 15 metres while the other reserve was waiting to take over ??? When there was a stoppage it took miles too long to get the meeting going again - Ref to blame. Then Greaves falling first bend getting up and then just standing there - very poor. And fans there last night who do not go often would be put off with all this on a chilly night. I thought it was a very poor crowd and well down on what you would expect against Cradley. I have to say that Kent had the luck of the Irish to be only a point down after 10 Heats. Kent were a 2.5 man team and again the reserves were outgunned big time. Disagree with Waco as we thought that Morley was trying to get a flyer each time and he does not need to do that and risk touching the tapes as he is good enough to come from behind if he misses the start. Shanes again is just Box Office and a real crowd pleaser - pity Kent do not have 7 Shanes in team ? Can only see Kent in bottom 3 at end of season unless they make 2 or 3 changes. Cradley are a solid outfit throughout the team and will be in the shake-up when Honours are given out. They will only get stronger when Harris drops to reserve and Neale or Perks move up. They could afford Greaves having a poor meeting and still won comfortably. -
I fear same result as the Eagles defeat for the Kings. Too weak at reserve and as I have said before it is hard for Verge in main body. Still, watching Shanes is great value for money. Hope weather behaves itself.

That's how I read it.

So Kent are trying to get the CURFEW extended to 9.30 - but only on a FRIDAY ? Does that mean if given the go ahead the Club will change from a Monday to a Friday ? How will that go down with Lakeside ? Or will it make no difference ?

Mildenhall V Kent 19th April
blueherb777 replied to Old Crusader's topic in National League Speedway
With Ayres,Kent may of got a point. Without I fear the Tigers will be too strong. I can see Kent being a 3 man team - Morley,Shanes and Baseby. Verge is finding it hard in main body and reserves will struggle big time away from Home. -
Invicta Pairs At Central Park Mon 13/4
blueherb777 replied to Bryn's topic in National League Speedway
Agree with Waco in that Morley was a class above all the riders tonight. It was almost like an INDIVIDAL meeting instead of Pairs as most had a stand out rider. I have to say on the night the PAIR that both scored points and showed potential was Banks/Verge. Verge really knows how to trap - just needs to see his races out better. Baseby looked good and as I have said before,Shanes is worth the entrance money alone. Impressed with Ritchings and I think it is a real shame Johnson has no team place (wish we could fit in Kent team and have Verge at reserve)although I know it will not fit. Again appreciative crowd and love Shanes real joy at winning races. Roll on Cradley next Home meeting. -
And quite honestly watching Shanes on a bike is worth the admission money alone.

Lakeside V Swindon 10th April 2015
blueherb777 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I totally agree and said the same thing last night at Lakeside. Surely a stand-by pool of riders is possible as the amount of Guests used already this season seems more than ever. Lakeside went out there last night and did what they had to do. The speed AJ shows going into the second bend on the outside is fantastic. I cannot see any team (not even Poole)getting anything at Lakeside with the top 5 of the Hammers. Nilsson quickest time of night,Bech is getting going and we know how solid Kennett and Awesome are. Evening was very slow with the lights problem and tractor solo racing. -
Surely the main point is to celebrate Speedway in Kent over the years and give the Kings riders more track time. Also great to see the Crayford and Canterbury race jackets in action after a long time ?

Kent V Eastbourne, Easter Monday 6th April
blueherb777 replied to stevec's topic in National League Speedway
Well said and it has to be said the Kent crowd is very supportive of the riders and appreciate their efforts. About the weather - Cannot believe how COLD,WINDY AND CLOUDY it was. We left Home inbetween Maidstone and Gravesend and it was WARM,SUNNY AND NO WIND ??? Strange old weather ! -

Well done Eastbourne deserved win and look solid throughout. Great guest in Greenwood and you have a real GEM in Wilson-Dean. Now Kent. I know it is early days etc,but already you can see why SS put Kings to finish 8th. My fear was that Ben would have to carry the team and he will until others up their game. Shanes is worth entrance money alone (his 3rd to 1st)in first ride at Home was great. I think there is more to come from Ayres and Baseby. What worries me is the other 3. Verge needs to be at reserve and Sheppard/Couzins just finding this a struggle. Compared to Eagles reserves,we are way behind. And on the subject of the referee, how is she allowed to officiate. When the Eagles rider went down first bend the red lights came straight on although he was getting straight up ? Then in the re-run the other Eagle who missed to start first time, flew second time. -

The 1st meeting against the USA? team was packed but will not be so big tomorrow although with the weather good and lots of Eagles fans it should be very decent. You should be able to park OK if you get there in good time. I am putting my neck on the line by going for a 50-40 to the Kings. Great to see `Magic`back and he will get a great reception. -
Looking forward to Monday and looks like weather will be fine. Should be a decent crowd with hopefully a lot of Eagle`s fans. Could be close but I expect Home advantage will again be key as it was last night. I wonder after last night if a lot of Eagles fans now think that the National League is b****y good ?
-
What a farce 1st meeting that Kent are without their No 1. Thrashing for Kings if meeting is on. Unbelievable that Eagles loose Mason but are stronger with Greenwood. Only in Speedway can this happen ???
-
Agree with that Waco. But exciting team in prospect. Ben our Number 1 - we know what he is capable of and can still improve. Baseby has potential to be a Heat Leader and best is still to come. Shanes is an excellent signing and could be trump card. Ayres improving all the time and is very solid. Danno improved a lot last year and still more to come. Reserves we shall wait and see and as you say most team are in the same boat with Rookies. So I think a team with potential and maybe capable of winning Clubs first piece of silverware.

I did not go last night so cheers for a great review. Why no Sanderson ? Sounds like Saul really took his chance.

Matt has every right and if he does the business, good luck to him.

The Heathens V The Brummies 25/03
blueherb777 replied to greyhoundp's topic in National League Speedway
As I said last week I was sure that Brummies will improve as the season goes on. Good thing for the NL is it shows that teams can compete with Cradley and it should be a interesting and competative League. -

Great post Kev. I am sure Brummies will improve as the season goes on. -
How come Sheppard is riding and not Danny Ayres ?

I have not seen Matt Saul so you maybe right. And I think Sanderson will get the nod. Time will tell.
