British Final 2024
Ghosty replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I've been involved with speedway for 58 years but saturday was my first visit to the "new" Belle Vue, I was impressed with everything the Stadium, track & the racing! I think it's fair to say the best rider on the night won so congratulations Dan. Belle Vue is the best track in the country (thanks to Chris Morton) & is the perfect track for the British Final. Have people forgotten the carnage when the Finals were run @ Wolverhampton! One thing all british tracks lack is decent shale, I'm told the quarry/s that supplied it either no longer opperate or won't supply it to speedway tracks. -
Poole Pirates Vs Workington Comets League15/5/24
Ghosty replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agee with you 100% the referee @ Plymouth requires some training in how to deal with these situations. The meeting should have started @ 7 p.m. track was perfectly raceable. -
I'll repost this: The current rider shortage of UK riders is down to one thing Grasstrack both adult & schoolboy it has become almost none exististent in the UK & that is where 80% of all British riders came from. The BSPL should work with the ACU to encourage a revival of ACU clubs to run Grasstrack meetings.

Moto X that's a Grasstrack with a few hills!

In the UK we nowadays we have to blame somebody for every scenario. In this case it's the lack of a quality rider to complete Plymouth's team, the blame must surely lie with the person or persons that have set the 2024 points limit. Have we still got any pay-caps in place as that's also something people/teams seem to ignore!

I'm sure the way the Bonaza works is that the riders volenteer their services for free or expenses only. The sole aim of the BEN fund is to support injured riders both short & long term however best they can. The main fund raiser is the now anual Bonaza. Good luck to the riders, Paul Ackroyd & his team for a successful 2024 event.

Are there any sub 8 point Premiership riders not riding in the Championship? Names on a postcard please.
-
In the last few seasons Plymouth have shocked a few with the signing of Pedersen, Crump & Andersen. So lets wait & see who Gary & Mark can get to put their name on the dotted line.

Clarke Osbourne & Gaming International should be made to pay their debts. Most known criminals get locked up!

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings
Ghosty replied to bloom89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can someone tel me what points are available for Plymouth & Workington to complete their 2024 squads. With the obvious rider shortage for the 2024 Championship who was the mathematical genius that set the points limit. -
I don't think Plymouth's new Saturday race day would suit Riss?

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

This is the biggest media oppertunity GB speedway has had for decades, are the current BSP wised up enough to see it? -
Well said Dean as always, but one move Osbourne did make that was not so smart was when registering his latest limited company he give anyone access to his home address, not the cleaverest thing to do when you have walked all over people!
-
Wasn't Sam the team manager of the Reading Bulldogs? If so he will have some experence as a team manager, but I doubt that his services will come cheap!
-
Are you a betting man Richard, I recone you have a few spot on!
-
45 minutes from Swindon, could be Newport? Why hasn't Swindon council taken Osbourne to the cleaners.
-
What Poole do is great for Poole, one real advantage is they are in a "well to do" part of the U.K. Poole's success on track is not great for all the other teams.

The Undertaker, however I'm sure any donations would not be refused.

Birmingham v plymouth Wednesday

You are 100% spot on mate. What good has Poole's win, win or win attitude contributed to the rest of the Championship these last few seasons? -
This week's arrived on Friday, last week was 6 days late!
