  1. The first heat of this double header should be starting promptly at 7.00pm, and needs firm control by the Referee and Clerk of the Course, along with minimal track work, otherwise a very late finish or another fiasco is likely. Who wants to be leaving the stadium at gone 11.00pm?
  2. Min so°n, pas godt på Jabberwock! Han river, og hans tand er hvas. Pas på den onde jubjub-fugl og gribbekloens krads.
  3. SHEFFIELD WINDOW CENTRE TIGERS: Josh Grajczonek, Todd Kurtz R/R, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood. GLASGOW: Richie Worrall, Dan Bewley, Aaron Summers, Nike Lunna R/R, Richard Lawson, Tom Perry, Jack Smith. Todd has a badly swollen hand, and will miss the 2 meetings with Glasgow this week, at least.
  4. Et slidigt gravben vridrede i brumringen på tidvis plent, og lappingen var vaklig, og det borte grøfgrin grent.
  5. Todd Kurtz withdrawn from the meeting following a fall at Swindon earlier.
  6. Best laugh of the day. If Belle Vue sent some money to Torun, who then forwarded it to Newcastle, that would be okay, wouldn't it?
  7. The Referee that I spoke to said that theirs wasn't.
  8. Just to put a dampener on your idea, .5 points don't happen any more, as the Referees' software on their laptops isn't configured to cater for half a point.
  9. I feel sorry for the King's Lynn fans. All those blank weeks with no fixture, then this double header against the same opponents, which was asking for trouble and started too late. How much lower can this sport go? Utterly embarrassing.
  10. Anyone who thinks that Diane Abbott is a good politician can never expect to be taken seriously. Anyway, there's no chance of Holder riding in the CL next year, so the Promotion won't have to cough up for all the extra work needed to plan fixtures to suit. (Sometimes it's fun to dangle a virtual rope or pass a virtual spade).
  11. SHEFFIELD: Josh Grajczonek, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood. SCUNTHORPE: Michael Palm Toft, Jake Allen R/R, Lewis Kerr, Ryan Douglas, Josh Auty, Tero Aarnio, Josh Bailey.
  12. The Regulations state:- A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is Doubling Up, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: - a) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture. 1st priority to the owner of the rider. c) 2nd priority to the previous season club. d) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member. A Transfer during the Season does not change this priority.
  13. They admitted to their mistake in allowing Rob to ride for Sheffield.
  14. I hope Holder has better offers on those 2 dates, as I don't want to see him in the SGBCL again.
  15. It's typical of the modern day attitude of 'I want what I want and I want it now, but everybody else has to follow the rules'. The promoter and rider probably look at it as a one-off, but what if lots of riders said they weren't going to ride for a set period of time, because they had a better offer elsewhere? The sport would be more chaotic than it is now.
  16. Just had a look at the Comets web site. At the bottom of the first page, there is a piece entitled 'Latest Result'. It is dated 8th July, Workington 44 Sheffield 46. Surely someone could try to keep the information up to date. It gives the impression that nobody is bothered.
  17. Their schedule for the second half of August is crazy, and I think that someone at Belle Vue should have thought it through beforehand, rather than punishing IOW for what would probably be one of their biggest meetings of the season. 16/8 Rye House, 17/8 Glasgow, 18 Belle Vue, 19 Leicester, 20 Newcastle, 21 Belle Vue, 22 IOW, 23 Birmingham, 24 day off, 25 Belle Vue, 26 Glasgow, 27 day off, 28 Poole at 11.00, then 2 meetings at Wolverhampton, 29 day off, 30 Belle Vue, 31 Sheffield.
  18. Ty may not be as good as he once was, but he always gives 100% effort, and his travel expenses should only be for 2 miles!
  19. Congratulations Craig. I hope we get to see a true Brit in the GPs next year.
  20. SHEFFIELD: Josh Grajczonek, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood. EDINBURGH: Ty Proctor (G), Mark Riss, Ricky Wells, Max Clegg, Erik Riss, Josh Pickering, Mitchell Davey.
  21. If I remember correctly, the start time was brought forward so that supporters could get home earlier.
  22. SHEFFIELD: Scott Nicholls, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood. NEWCASTLE: Robert Lambert, Ludvig Lindgren R/R, Stuart Robson, Ashley Morris, Steve Worrall, Ben Hopwood, Alfie Bowtell.
