Peterborough V Plymouth Pl 28th June
Blackadder replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As reported - The 22 year-old Polish ace has been drafted in at reserve by the Panthers and is scheduled to make his debut when they entertain Plymouth on Sunday (June 28) providing the move receives official British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA) clearance. So, if Rafal has obtained clearance from today, Somerset will not have had the time to officially sign Oliver, who, for a short time, will not be in a declared 1-7, so therefore cannot guest. Does that make sense? -
The Referee with a similar name was the late Jack Miller.

Coventry Bees V Belle Vue Friday 26th June
Blackadder replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Riders are allowed to leave the track if there has been an incident. If there has just been an unsatisfactory start and nobody has fallen, then they have to stay on the track. -
Cameron Heeps had a few practice laps after the meeting at Sheffield tonight.

She did that to Sam Ermolenko at Sheffield a few weeks ago. Credit to Sam, who disguised his Muttley impression quite well.

Jim Lawrence is one of the best UK Referees in my opinion. What has he done to warrant being called shocking? If you make yourself known to him next time he is at your track, I am sure he will listen to your comments and respond politely.

Not a bad thought, but as things stand, there aren't enough riders of a decent standard available. The UKVI don't help. Ty Proctor would fit in, if the BSPA could arrange for lower limits for non-EU riders. Gone are the days when riders averaging over 9.00 were plentiful.

From the Sheffield Star. Damien Bates has paid tribute to Aussie ace Ty Proctor who has arrived back in his home country. Tigers were rocked last week when they were told Proctor had failed to meet the criteria for a working visa and had to leave the UK. It has left a sour taste in the mouth of club boss Bates, who says he received mixed messages over the matter. “It’s a week down the line and I’m still fuming about it,” he said. “As a club we were comfortable with everything. We had done everything correctly in accordance with the advice we had been given from high-ranking officials within the sport. “It’s a disgrace, quite honestly, but there is nothing we can do about it now and the lad is now back home in Australia with his career in tatters. “The sad part about it all is that he has done a good job for the team. He’s had his injury problems, but this season he has been in the points and doing a great job. “To then be told he has to go back to Australia is terrible, and I feel for the lad because he’s put his heart and soul into the situation.” Bates admits he has no option but to cast an eye towards the end of this month and a potential replacement - as well as taking a view on the Simon Stead injury situation. “We will have to look at what options may or may not become available,” said Bates. “It’s not easy at the moment, but we will get through to the end of next week and see what we can do with the team.” Sheffield host Edinburgh this Thursday.

Only for small tracks, and only if the birth is in the EU, to EU parents.

2 GPs so far, and both rubbish. Last night's meeting must have been the worst I've ever seen. -
How can Nico Covatti be Italian and Facundo Albin be Spanish when they are Argentinians? Do they have parents or grandparents who are European?

I saw Ty tonight. He has now been given until Sunday to sort out his affairs and leave the country.

A rather moving article in this week's SS, stating that Ty was told on Tuesday not to ride at Glasgow, and to be out of the country by midnight. It's a pity that the Government isn't as harsh when it comes to the many undesirables being allowed to stay and scrounge or commit crimes repeatedly. Gutted for Ty, who doesn't deserve this.

Good to see Jack Lee tweaking the lineup again, although I'm not sure that Ty at 2 instead of Ashley is a good move. I would have thought that Ty would benefit from more rides later in the meeting, rather than earlier, but Jack usually knows what he is doing. The lack of track time under lights for the home team might benefit us. I hope for a close away win, and all riders getting home safe.

Can't see Cameron being fit any time soon. I read somewhere that his injury is only just starting to heal. His last average for Eastbourne is 6.32.
