Or Sheffield..
-
The funny thing is that he has done quite a few Guest bookings for Sheffield home and away and he has done really well, and when he came with Glasgow apart from a poor first race he came on strong later. I suppose everything points to a return to the Monarchs for next on a lower average, but I would not be surprised to see him at Sheffield next season.
-
Plus we had the new British Under 21 Champion riding for us. You are right about injuries and they did blight our season. But with the new Promotion coming like a breath of fresh air I think we could be on the verge of returning to the top end of the league for 2015.
-
Think you have done what I did when looking at the Sheffield team for next and not taken what will be likely to be the finishing averages. I have put the changes in brackets for you and unfortunately like me the team that you have chosen is slightly over the limit. Looks like me you will have to go back to the drawing board. Sorry.
-
Looking at the new averages to come out have to scrap this team, as I did not bank on Steady's average rising by over a point and Taylor Poole putting about a point and half.
-
Depends what sort of changes the Edinburgh Promotion, realistically to Wolbert in they have to drop Cook and one other rider, my guess is that Wolbert will not be at Edinburgh. But I suppose you never know.

Personally really looking forward to 2015 as the new promotion will start on a level playing field regarding team building. I think they will and I hope they will go for a team that will make home meeting Fortress Owlerton, if you can go all season without dropping any home points then more or less there into the play offs. Looking at this seasons riders for Sheffield. Simon Stead; Has been immense for the club, and there is not rider in the league that I would swap Steady for so its a no brainer to bring back the 2014 PLRC champ. retain Leigh Lanham; Not really worked out for Big Leigh, with the biggest disappointment from him was his away performances. release Ty Proctor; Never really got going, but start to just show us what he can do when he got injured. On his finishing average I think he will form some excellent back up for Steady; bring back. Adam Roynon; I am a massive Roynon fan, and would normally pick him to ride for Sheffield, but there is always a nagging doubt that Adam will pick up injuries don't bring back (But with a heavy heart) Nico Covatti; Not done enough for me, had a couple of decent meetings but not enough especially at Sheffield, I would also be very worried about his continental commitments. release. Taylor Poole; If he is fit then get him back. Once he found his feet and got going I thought he was superb. But for me on the average he would be coming back on would certainly love to see him back. retain Andre Compton; Had the big crash and still not been able to see how badly that has effected him, made it clear he wants to be back next, but I do worry about that crash and what sort effect it has had. possibly retained. Ben Wilson; Not too sure about Ben, really want to say yes to him. Successful Sheffield teams have always had local riders in their team and like Steady Ben is a local lad. So like Andre I would say. possibly retained. Josh Bates; Bit wild and erratic at times, but cannot fault his 100% effort, and the club have invested a lot of time and effort developing that talent. retain. From my retained list I would love to see a team built around Simon Stead to give us a solid looking team, to do that we would need to sign riders who are between 5.5 and just below 7 point averages who riding at Sheffield each week could improve on those averages. So with a team that I have at the moment. (1) Stead (2) , (3) (4) (5) Ty Proctor (6) Taylor Poole (If not fit then Compton or Wilson) (7) Josh Bates For the other 3 spots take any of these riders David Bellego Jason Garrity Kevin Wolbert Ashley Birks

Sheffield Vs Berwick Pl 11-9-2014
spin king replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Little bit disappointed by the result last night,we gave Berwick a point as gift with our selection of gate positions for heat 15. With an 8 point lead we rather than defend the lead we put Steady on the grave yard 4th gate. But fair play to Berwick they took their chance when the opportunity came knocking. As for Sheffield think we need to see out this season and plan for next season. -

Yeah Steady has to be a favorite for the PLRC, but not quite sure about Eddie Kennett. -
Thoughts On The Pl Season So Far?

At Sheffield the crowds are up slightly , which is amazing when you consider that we are in no better position in the league than for the last 2 seasons. The promotion at Sheffield have worked hard this season. The racing has improved, as they have done a lot of work on the track. The presentation overall has improved, and they have introduced a more family friendly start time. And with two young vibrant well connected Promoters who have promised that money will spent on the team and make improvements I think the future is very bright at Sheffield and I am confident that we will be challenging for honours next season. -
Edinburgh V Sheffield (pl) 5/9/14 @ 7.30pm
spin king replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Simon Stead injured his arm in heat 1 after falling with Super Guest Sedgmen. He was late coming out for heat 1 as he had been receiving treatment for an injured left fore arm. Which was getting worse as the meeting went on hence why he did not ride heat 15. -

Funny that we were checking the scores at Redcar as well. Needless to say Redcar are not very popular with me at the moment. -

Massive performance from the Tigers, and after what was a lackluster performance last week from Sheffield, this just what the doctor ordered. The Comets were poor, no very poor and a meeting that they must have been confident of taking 4 points of a weakened Sheffield. If I was a Comets fan I would be deeply upset with this defeat as the scoreline frankly flattered you. But tonight I am proud of all of the Sheffield riders all did the club proud tonight. -

Shows how the rolling averages can play against you. On scores from meetings this season Andre has the highest average for a Sheffield rider and at home his scores have generally been very much of a heatleader standard . But because of the rolling averages we a re left having to use an off form Ben Wilson, youngster who is finding his feet in Josh Bates and Taylor Poole who has more often than not rose to the occasion, but as we saw last Thursday Taylor had a poor one by his recent standards and that has a detrimental effect on the teams performances/ -

Has Machin Changed His Mind?
spin king replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Neil Machin is at the club purely to guide the new Promoters and to assist them and to offer up any advice, i think that role was originally earmarked for Dave Hoggart I believe but the new Promotion decided to go along with Neil instead. Which seems very sensible to me after all the shenanigans that have gone of at Birmingham. As for Simon Parker as far as I am aware Simon is still definitely involved with the club, not sure why his name is not down as a Co- Promoter, could be down to how the club was bought and the share issue. But I think that you will find that it is definitely a new Promotion running the show and Neil is there as an advisor. -

Know quite a bit about Sheffield. Tungate record around Sheffield; 2013 4 paid 6 from 4 rides, 2012 1 paid 2 from 3 rides Heeps ; record around Sheffield; 2013 3 from 4 rides, 2012 1 from 3 rides, Risager record around Sheffield; 2013 6 from 4 rides, 4 paid 5 from 4 rides, 2011 5 paid 7 from 4 rides, and 4 from 4 rides. Never seen anything from either of them to suggest that they will be prolific around Sheffield, unless you know something that I don't. . -
I think the Play Offs are here to stay, and after been initially wary of them I find that I really do like them and I am quite a fan of them, on a personal note I think that they keep the season alive for the full season. Hopes for 2015 Purely selfishly I would like to see Sheffield have a good season, the new Promotion have worked so hard and it would be nice to see that hard work rewarded. Also would be nice to see some of the other teams that be around the bottom of the league with us over the last couple of seasons do well the likes of Glasgow, Rye House and Plymouth, and just for once lets see Edinburgh struggle. Increase in numbers of Premier League teams, 16 would be the ideal number. Hopefully the Elite League will see sense and run all Elite League matches on Mondays and Mondays to become exclusively Elite League night. That would go a long way to solving the doubling up problems. People smile more at speedway meetings, and actually enjoy themselves. What I don't want to see for 2015 I hate the idea of Elite amalgamating with the Premier League. I am not to fussed about rationalization for any of the league's. Not too much to ask for.

Rye House V Berwick Sunday 24th August
spin king replied to DragonsDen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think we have seen the downside of the strength in depth team. When they have to use Rider Replacement or if a rider/ riders having an off night this is what can happen. What was it two races wins, never going to do anything with so few race wins.
