  1. Can totally relate to what you are saying, been through the previous two seasons under similar circumstances at Sheffield. The simple fact is that id your not winning your home meetings on regular consistent basis then the crowd levels will drop. I and a hard core of supporters at Sheffield have all probably not missed a home meeting for the last two seasons, its been difficult and I guess became a habit, but the vast majority will and do vote with their feet if your losing on a regular basis. To have a number 1 who has not scored a point in four rides is unthinkable and frankly worrying, and the Promotion need to ask some questions of the rider and themselves as to the way forward. Sadly for Kevin Wolbert I think that the Promotion needs to act quickly and replace the chosen number 1 for this season. .
  2. I think we have to accept that this team is a team in working progress. Simon Stead is coming back from a potential career ending injury along with other injury problems he had last season. Taylor Poole is back from injury. And we all know about Adam Roynon and injuries. But its is a decent team that I think will get better, I don't think we will see the best from it this season, but next season if we can keep the core of the team I think that we could well seriously be challenging for honours next season. I think that we will see the occasional slip up, and meeting could be tighter than we think at home, but for a team that was basically put together at the last minute I think that they are doing exceptionally well this season.
  3. Not going to make any predictions. But lets just say I am going to mark you words down and comment on them after the meeting.
  4. only one thing for it at moments like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJUhlRoBL8M
  5. Amazing what goes through your mind while out clothes shopping with the Missus.
  6. Probably right about the score, we have never really done much at the Park and I don't see anything changing today.
  7. I think as long as it is fair and constructive and non insulting then I think ti fair enough. I think that what we have to realise as fans is that the Promotion has only been at the club for a matter of months and they will make the odd mistake or two, and I think that they will know in their heart of hearts that Thursday was not good, and will make every effort to improve. The one thing that has impressed me about them is the way they do deal with their mistakes and listen to the fans, they have so far dealt with them swiftly without any fuss. I am sure they will make a few more mistakes along the way, everyone does when things are new, but I like they way they handle themselves and I am confident that whatever the problem is they will deal with it.
  8. Congratulations to Scunny, did a job on us, and they handle the track conditions far better than we did. But it is one meeting, its a new team that was cobbled together at the very last minutes where as the Scunthorpe team have mostly been together for two to three season of a successful period. Also the promotion is new and they will make mistakes, but I am confident that they will deal with the issues quickly, as they have done so far in the dealings.
  9. To be honest I was more upset about losing out on Ash Birks than I was Josh Auty at the time. Yes Josh can be entertaining but to be frank has he improved since his move to Scunthorpe I ask myself, and the answer is a negative.
  10. So basically to sum up Richard Hall has copped a 30 day ban. Most fans feel that this justified. Except for TaylorJ and Jenga, as we establish that majority of Workington fans don't like Josh Auty. TaylorJ does not give a rat arse about what anyone else thinks about what she says. Jenga would like the opportunity to buy Richard Hall a Big Mac with cheese and extra large fries and cannot spell dangerous. And after a winter of watch Braehead Clan ice hockey team, Paulco would now like to see after heat 15, would like to see the captains from each team take off the crash helmets and gloves and have a punch up to decide on a winner for a bonus point. Do we have anything else.
  11. Its bit early to start making predictions about the Berwick team, but last night showed where they are very fragile. The solid 1 to 7 will only work with every in the top 1 to 5 scoring points in every race and one of the the reserves been free scoring. If they don't then when teams will keep the scores tight and have every chance of coming away from Berwick with something. I do think some of the Berwick fans on here did as they have done in the past and over hyped Steen Jensen. But it is early in the season, and things can change, but I do think that maybe the team might struggle a bit with Jensen appearing to not be the free scoring reserve that they thought he was, Vissing who it would appear wil take on the number 1 role been a rider who has reputation for getting injured and Kus still been a rider who is up and down more times than a roller coaster.
  12. Actually he also beat a rider who was briefly Berwick's number 1 and a rider who is going to be a GP rider this season, don't under estimate the lads potential.
  13. I don't think that we should look to far into this, they are the words of a young speedway rider who is not yet 16. I do think that Alun Rossiter should pay Robert and his family a visit and find out what their gripes are about maybe explain situations, offer some timely advice and address a few of the problems. The lad does have great potential, and at the moment we need riders with his sort of potential. But I do think that if he continues to want to have very little or nothing to do with Team GB then so be it , but he has to understand that he losess the benefits when riding over here if he does.
  14. Interesting that no one has started a thread on tomorrows match. Newcastle appear to a team that is built on all round strength, but the feel good factor is back at Sheffield, and I cannot see anything other than a Sheffield win. One thing that I looking forward to is heat 13 with Simon Stead and Adam Roynon, both exciting riders around Owlerton and I think that there will be few teams that will get anything in heat 13. Overall I think that Big Joe's Tigers should have too much in the tank for the Diamonds and I will go a Sheffield win by 10.
  15. Absolutely spot on with those words. The consortium are doing a fantastic job The feel good fact is definitely back, I saw one or two faces that I have not seen for a few seasons, although the crowd was disappointing, but if the team can keep up the winning ways they will drift back. Okay the programme on first impressions won't win awards, but looking at the way the consortium has listened to the supporters and what they have to say. Question is what would you rather have? The best programme in the league. or challenge for the Play Offs.
  16. When you have a couple of seasons like we have had, then going to somewhere like Scunthorpe and get a result, it is really worth celebrating. The feel good factor is certainly returning back everyone connected to Sheffield speedway.
  17. A very pleasing result Scunny are a good team even without Ryan Douglas I thought that at the moment they would have enough in the tank to beat us. But I am also over the moon for the new Promoters, to get off at the start with a win, and not only that but our most local rivals makes the victory even sweeter.
