Certainly hope so, the last couple of seasons have been dank, dismal and depressing/ Have more fun at funeral.

Probably down to wanting to take the club in different directions. I suppose we will never find out, unless one or both parties reveal what those were, but that would be up to either or both parties to do so. Like I say I liked the Dave Hoggart found him very approachable, but I also like what the consortium have done so far and I like the fact that appear to listen to the fans and take on board what the fans are saying, and as much as I admired Neil Machin I do feel he had lost sight of fans. At the end of the day when businesses are taken over and especially sports clubs there will be people who leave or are asked to leave. But for the first time since 2011 I feel confident about my speedway team, and what they can achieve, and not wish ing to sound too harsh but that is all I really want with or without Dave Hoggart.

I had a similar situation myself, coming back from the bar with drinks in both my hands stopped in same area, admittedly was not offered a fist fight but a simple polite request to move would have sufficed rather than the abuse I got. Also witnessed them holding up a coach full of supporters trying to get out of the stadium because the coach had not parked completely in the correct position, again the abuse thrown at the coach driver was not warranted.

Fair enough, but this season the Elite League is only 13 heats long this season. The other two heats are of manily National League standard, where the draft riders compete.

Is there any difference between the two leagues anymore?

Much as I feel for Dave Hoggart, and yes I am disappointed that the consortium deem him to be surplus to requirement. But my main objectives for the club this season were. (1) Someone who a group of people would takeover the club. (2) We have a decent team. (3) We have a team that will entertain me. And at the moment all those boxes have been ticked. Who runs the club is pretty much immaterial to me. Like I say I think it is sad to see Dave Hoggart been surplus to requirement, but when their are takeovers there does tend to be casualties and it appears that has happened to Dave. But the fact that there was people prepared to take the club on after spending the winter wondering whether I am going to have a team to support means that I am happy with the team to support and I feel a competitive team. Who the consortium is, is irrelevant to me.

Just seen the news. These things do happen when takeovers happen, and sometimes there are casualties and people leave the club, and it would appear that the other consortium members are wanting to take the club in a different direction to David, its sad especially when you look at the hard word David put in to finding the consortium. But this is a new era and we move on time will tell whether or not it was a good move, but as a club we need to move on. As for Dave I had plenty of run ins with him, but he was a very approachable guy who would always give me an answer to my questions, and for that I respect him, and I hope that he is not lost to speedway he still has something to offer some speedway club, and I wish him all the best for the future.. Sad day but as a speedway club we move on upwards and onwards/

Thoroughly enjoyed last night. Sean Wilson and The Flyer Wyer were excellent value for money, hopefully we will see more of Sean at Sheffield, and nice to see that Doug is going to help Josh Bates with his gating. All the other Legends were good value for money as well. Not too sure whether the Hoggy rumour is true or not, I hope not I think that he still has something to offer the club, and he did some sterling work getting the consortium together, but if he has left then I wish him all the best.

The Screen/ Sheffield and Havvy/ Coventry connections really does bug you/

Possibly one of the saddest post I ever regarding speedway. Anyone who knows Vog will tell you he is the most laid back guy you could ever wish to meet, for him to come out and state he is feeling this way should be a wake up call for the Promotion.

The Redcar is very much of the standard of the Berwick side. I am guessing your not going to Berwick this season.

Can rule out Swedish riders as they ride in Sweden on Thursdays.

To be fair it is difficult to find a rider to replace Kozza Smith at this stage of pre season.

A rider who split opinions at Sheffield. Can be great to watch and very exciting, but can also be very frustrating especially away from home. The last two seasons at Sheffield he posted the following figures. Home; 8.56 with bonus points, 8.06 without bonus points Away; 5.68 with bonus points, 5.10 without bonus points That is nearly 3 points difference between his home form and away form, with the way the Redcar team is structure can they afford to have a rider riding in the heatleader role with that kind of difference.

Again the new Promotion are proving that they will move quickly to alleviate the fans worries.

I believe that they did say that they were keen to bring back the raffle for next season.

The race card has served its purpose, but for me it is time to move on and ditch it. Question is how many race cards actually get filled in, when me and SKJ go we get two racecards yet only one gets filled in, which really is a waste of time and energy for the Promotion. One thing I was going to suggest before the new Promotion made the decision to go with a a programme was to.: Stick with the race card.and have a monthly Fanzine type publication, that might satisfy both sets of fans those who would like the traditional programme and those who would like to see the racecard stay.

I think the problem with season tickets is down to the fact that the new promotion have very little time to prepare for the season, and maybe other issues have taken over as importance. As was pointed out at the recent STAARS. The air fence is a massive issue and raising funds for what will be the biggest air fence in British speedway with the track needing 26 panels.. The track is having a major overhaul with new shale on order, they hoping to get the track back to its best to produce some good racing. They are also interested in giving young and promising riders a chance and and they seem to be keen to have 2nd half racing for riders, so I would believe that the Young Guns meeting will still be there. But for me the main thing is that they are looking at bring back a winning team at home and make it Fortress Owlerton back like it was when the team tasted success, basically going back to basics. Yes maybe they could have done a better deal on season tickets, but they have kept prices the same as 2013 and not put them up, lets be patient and give them a break. On a personal note I came away from the STAARS meeting confident and excited for the new season, something I have not felt for the last two seasons.

Been the father of a severely autistic with severe learning difficulties of a son who is on the the highest disability components, the one thing that my son does have is a pass to use on public transport throughout the county that enables him and his carer to travel free. The reason he gets this is because he needs someone to care for him at all times, and would be a danger to himself or others if out on his own. As far as I am aware this a National scheme (but don't quote me on that), so surely this are the types of disabled people that should qualify for their carer to enter for free, because they are unable to go without the assistance of a carer. I disappointed to hear comments to suggest that maybe disabled people been used by carers to get in somewhere for free deeply crass and offensive, the vast majority of carers are family members and I think you would find that 99.9% would not or would not be allow the people that they are caring for to be exploited into doing something that they were not wanting to do. Carers save this country millions of pounds in tax payers money looking after their disabled relatives, so why not give them a bit of a discount. And before any asks my disabled son does not have the slightest interest in speedway, is never likely to as well and while ever he is of that opinion he never will.
