  1. They raced each other on neutral track in the U21 championship. Also Ellis has rode our track lots last year in EL & NL. My original point to Steve was that if Bates does have to miss Wed and we have to use riders down the draft like Clegg, Mear, Morris in the top 2 then that weakens us. That's a fact
  2. He has made changes in the past. However it's finding riders who want to come over. I'm sure if the top riders wanted to ride here then Poole wouldn't have signed Bjarne & Leicester would have made changes rather than signing Watt. Mads would be good if he fits for Woryna, depending on fixture clashes
  3. Starke is currently better than most of the fast track riders including Bates, Newman, Ellis and Howarth. The lads come on lots since joining Leicester. Exactly. Can Steve please remind me what Ellis has won this year. Isn't he riding NL? Yes he beat Bates in 1 race on Friday but other than that he only beat Roynon & Bellego all night. Hardly World Cup competition. While Bates beat Holder, Andersen, Kurtz & Pedersen. Both are good riders on their day & both can also have poor meetings.
  4. You have watched one meeting. Those of us who watch him for Coventry & Sheffield each week know he is also capable of passing. You must not have watched the u21 champs either. However on a gate & go track like Poole that wouldn't be a problem. When you look at replacement options for him, we would definitely miss him. As for the SWC I don't think it's going to matter which is at reserve as neither are ready. They will just be there to make up the numbers if needed.
  5. Woryna would have scored more than the 0 his replacement did. However we have points available for another heat leader if he was replaced, making King a 2nd string so surely that most fans would want the same if their club was in that position. Josh Bates injured his knee in his heat 14 fall on Friday. He pulled out of his guest booking for Leicester Sat and isn't riding in his Sheffield meeting today. He's also a big doubt for Wednesday's meeting. Huge blow for Coventry with the way he's been riding. No suitable replacement if needed. Sarjeant is also a doubt.
  6. They showed some ambition last year & the year before when we made the play offs & we're top of the table most of last year. Havvy didn't have a lot of say in this team as he had his own problems & spent most of the winter in hospital or recovering. Horton has put together a strong top 3, However the reserve pick was very wrong (although Bates has really stepped up lately) and the signing of Woryna never made sense. Horton does seem to have given up on this season by not making the needed change. I do really hope we are back next year & this isn't the way we whimper out.
  7. The averages of those EDR in EL teams are used instead of a list. Then the ones that were below him on the original list should be able to be used if available. Jacobs, Sarjeant, Clegg, Wilkinson, Morris, Mear & Roynon are all still 3pt average riders like Stefan. Then any riders from this list that don't have a EL average
  8. Sad to hear of Stefan's injuries 😞 Fingers crossed we hear more positive news and he's not out for the season
  9. King's Lynn have had some good results the last week but they have been against the other teams also near the bottom of the table. I personally don't think they are as strong against tougher teams. Yes you are 6pts off play offs but Poole have a meeting in hand I still think Swindon, Wolves, Poole & Belle Vue will finish in the top 4 although Lakeside have got tighter at home again.
  10. I don't remember you having to use a 6pt premier league rider to replace him as no facility? I'm sure you got a facility like other meetings and used another clubs number 1 who scored 8 for you. Hardly the same thing is it 🙄
  11. I thought it was only 2 without a facility (Leicester & Lakeside away) Which is the other? 😕 Surely something could have been done between clubs to avoid this. It can't be good for attendances either.
  12. A good meeting. Love watching Kaspazak when he's like this. Shame the weather spoilt it a bit. I was hoping for Emil & KK on the podium but I will settle for one.
  13. Are you sure you went if you think there was only 300 people there. There was closer to 1500- 1700. The start was delay due to huge queues outside and stands were full.
  14. That's like Coventry missing Garrity and also Woryna would have scored more than 0. However it's all ifs and buts
  15. All rivalry aside. I really hope last night isn't the last Coventry V Poole meeting we will ever see at Brandon. 😞 Our teams have had some brilliant meetings over the years. Let's hope we get to continue next year 🙏🏼🙏🏼
  16. Yes we know Woryna sometimes scores 1 but not all the time. Luckily we have got a good number one who scored 13 mon & 13 last night. 😉 Can excuse him a odd bad meeting when he's racking in the points in most esp with some of the racing he does. I myself have been critical of KK in the past but he seems more commited this year. Was amazing last night even with a big meeting coming up today. He has a huge ability but as Havvy says a lot of it is he can over think things which we saw last year. Any news on when Wolves original no 1 Kylmakorpi is due back? On a plus it's good to see Howarth riding better 👍🏻
  17. Yes there were passes. Think what Steve means is that his riders didn't pass enough From memory & updates (could be more) Heat 2: Perks passes Bellego Heat 3: Pirates gated on a 5-1 but Harris then King passed Hans Heat 5: Bellego and Perks kept repassing each other Heat 8: Pedersen passes Roynon. Heat 12: Perks passed Bellego Heat 13: was a super passing from Kaspazak on Holder who led for a few laps. One of the races of the night. Harris also passed Bjarne. Heat 15: Poole gate on a 5-1 but brilliant from bees to blast round and make it a 5-1 to cov. Not sure how a Poole fan can claim they have more passes than that at their track 😂
  18. Wow I didn't realise what a poor loser Steve Shovlar was. Talk about sour grapes. Yes Hans was poor for you but he only had 3 rides due to your super reserve who could replace anybody and did. Coventry were practically a 5 man team as non existent at reserve and still won. Your comments about Bates are disrespectful and love how you have to compare a draft rider to a ride you promised us big things from in the main team. Yes Kurtz beat Bates when out front in a race but Holder & Hans had no answer when Bates was out front either. Does that make him better than them 😂 Come on, you lost fair and square against a weakened need side with 3 riders missing. As for the Giants comment, I don't see you as the best team in the league at present. Maybe once you have had time to recover from last night, you can read back through your posts and see how childish & sour you sound.
  19. Round 1 Russia 2) Emil Sayfutdinov 4) Artem Laguta Poland 3) Piotr Pawlicki 4 Bartosz Zmarzlik Czech Republic 3 Eduard Krcmar 4 Vaclav Milik Denmark 3 Michael Jepsen Jensen 4 Niels-Kristian Iversen Round 2 Australia 1 Chris Holder 4 Jason Doyle USA 1 Greg Hancock 2 Ryan Fisher Germany 1 Kevin Wolbert 4 Martin Smolinski Sweden 1 Antonio Lindback 3 Andreas Jonsson Do the individual scores include joker points or tactical changes?
  20. Here's the post Skidder is referring to http://kylenewmanracing.co.uk/kyle-set-for-practice/
  21. 38.67 is what it should add up to which would leave us with 7.11 to replace Kacper with & move him to a squad rider.
  22. Our current team total is 35! That's terrible when the point limit was 41.50 and a lot of teams are already hitting 44. If we made a change before the next averages then we would have 10pts spare to replace Woryna (or move him to no 8) I don't think many clubs would have failed to make changes with that many points spare. That's like swapping a reserve for another no 1
  23. Completely agree. Our top riders are some of the strongest in the league. Garrity is good in the main team. If they would have only replaced Woryna even with Mads, then that would have pushed Bates back to reserve and gave us strength. Woryna & Sarjeant weaken us a lot at reserve. We won't win a lot of meeting with reserves who struggle to score more than 4 between them esp away. We are just one rider away from being a top 4 team which is so frustrating
  24. Garrity is sadly not back until August due to a broken arm. He had been in brilliant form so a big miss. Not sure if Sarjeant will be back. Plymouth say Newman is hoping to be back next week. He's gone private and having weekly X-rays and all is looking good. If no then I'm sure you can have one of your super guests that have been winning meetings for you 😉 I think Poole will win at home as we have been very poor away. Their heatleaders should be better there than how they were last night and our reserves are way too weak. Plus the fact there will most likely be no dirt and Poole are better at gating than racing. The two home wins were what were important to us 😉
