  1. Muller was a very good rider, and every other rider knew on that day he was the man to beat he had quick bikes he deserved to win. Were Greece when they won the Euros? sport should always give a chance to the OUTSIDER this GP series in a way is a bit of a closed shop.An example you can have a rider who comes eighth every year he will never will win it but gets a place year in year out .
  2. Why YAWN? respect the man's opinion Cardiff can only DREAM of having the crowds Wembley had.If somebody come up with the money with a top class field at Wembley they would get a bigger gate than Cardiff.
  3. Red i respect your view bigtime, but maybe you should ask Nicholaijsen, MIller, Knudsen a few ex) Olsen really helped those blokes and at times baby sat them. Also i felt at times he got a good tune out of Guglielmi, you are right Olsen was not the best team man and he was selfish but he could team ride. And he helped other riders when Central televised those meeting's he came across as a decent team man.
  4. His view as you say is just his OPINION, nothing more than that, sometimes some on this forum forget that CH you have real good points and i can't really argue with it.
  5. How would Nielsen win in 83 ? he was unlucky at Norden and was always consistent but he was no way in front of Lee,Carter,Sigalos, Gundo,Sanders maybe in front of some but not all.
  6. Is that not relevant to all of us? i prefer team racing but still watch the series!
  7. I went in 83 Lee i thought was going to win it after his form a month before he had been outstanding.Even after the World final he rode great beat Nielsen for 2nd in the BLRC and won the pride of the east meeting beating Nielsen easily with a fifteen point max.But Muller we all know was a very good rider and he took his chance, you are right "arnieg" that year was very open Lee,Carter,Sigalos ( favourite) Sanders would of been my pick.
  8. It was good Gustix, any footage of the great Vic Duggan?
  9. He won his six titles with the touching the tapes rolling rule i liked it myself but it is now harder i believe.Saying that Ivan is the best gater i have ever seen so it maybe would not of been a problem.
  10. I don't agree with tha GC even though you have a great case i could not see him dominating even though he did raise the standard and took speedway to a new professional level.I don't think he would of won six titles with the GP system in place also how would he have coped with the new tape rule.?He was a great rider but for me i could not see Ivan dominating a GP series like say Hans would of Nielsen to me could of won at least 6 to 8 titles.
  11. I for one think Phil Rising is in impossible position, whatever he does on this forum and 99 per cent of it is good he gets stick.Makes me wonder why he bothers to be honest,he gives alot of relevant imformation which has been helpful to alot of people on here.
  12. With the scoring would Mauger have been a certainty in some years? i am not so sure i think he was brilliant in the intense one/off meeting's.
  13. I think 1971, 72, 73, 74, he would of had a squeak at least a rostrum place with the old scoring system in place i could of seen him being there abouts.Mauger,Michanek, for me were two of the main men then, he was on a par with those. Also in today's format god how many semi/ finals would he of reached? loads of them i believe. In my time Nielsen is the only rider for me for a period with the format in place now that could of dominated the series he would of won more than four titles.
  14. Cant have Ricko as a better all round rider certainly not in the leagues. Also i was never a Hans fan, i see quite alot of him and if i am honest he could of won 8 titles he was exceptional.I would put Olsen in front of Ricko and i believe Olsen would of excelled in a GP Series in certain years a rider who put bums on seats.
  15. Where is Artem Laguta in the 40s? a very interesting read eaces1".Have we a system drawn up of the 70s and 80s? would love the 60s as well but i presume we would only have records from 65.?
  16. Olsen should of won Four or five titles he was that good, did not do badly i suppose.People i speak to dont really put him near the all time top ten i do.
  17. If Laguta was in the series, if he reached the semis he would be a danger to everyone. He is capable of beating anybody and on the big stage, be great if he and Emil could be in the series i don't think it will happen though.
  18. Certainly top eight i have him in front of Hans and Erik,a great rider could gate could pass was an excellent team man team rider what a brilliant race style he had. I agree with that, but he was truely a great rider.
  19. Top four Arson,no what i would say is there are not many riders who could produce that brilliance around at the moment. He reminded me of a peak Gollob, can't understand why he has struggled a bit in Sweden maybe machinery issues who knows.
  20. I agree Ove, i love Laguta he is for me easily a top six rider in the world at his best,he can do /beat Emil not many can but his consistency is the problem.
  21. For me he has led by example, has looked for his partner as well the frightening thing is he has not been at his best yet i hope he saves that for Melbourne!
  22. I was the same wanted to read it,but the silly prices on amazon i just did not bother picked my copy up for 9 pound on ebay read it at work in three days a great read.I enjoyed it but would still put the Lee,Booey, Jansson books on a par easily but in the Kenny book it told me stuff i would of never known about.
  23. Really rate him a nice lad also one of my friends said to me is he tough anough?i think he is he has alot of class. Heard Tai on Talksport and really did speedway a favour a bubbly character was great value.Does alot for charity and if you needed someone to sell speedway he would be your man.
  24. He was a deserving champion and i hope he goes on and wins another five titles, for me it is not just his riding ability its his personality and as a world champion speedway are very lucky.I don't know what you think but with Tai,Emil,Darcy,Magic,Pawlicki Jnr around this looks a very strong era indeed i just hope Emil/Darcy can get in the series.
  25. He might stay at Swindon? and like Adams what a treat it is to see Ward ride a pity there are not that many home meeting's left.
