  1. When Bruce retired the sport seemed to be in reasonable shape, but once he retired the sport seemed to go into a downward spiral. The sport then lost alot of its superstars all within the same time span which did not help.Alot of people have there view on Bruce, i thought he was awesome for the sport and it was a massive loss when he quit.I often wonder would Hans and Erik have ever of won 7 titles between them with Bruce still about.? Maybe the sport was already being dragged down before he quit, but this is the point i believe the decline really set in.
  2. My take on it ER,is that we have to except where we are at the moment but it is how we go about trying to improve things that is the most important thing. And beating Latvia is that a gimme? not anymore i am afraid.
  3. The difference is you can have a adult debate with GRW , we don't always agree but the respect is there and the debate is fun you should try it sometime.
  4. He made mistakes of course, like all of us in life but his CV is pretty impressive also i have never found Neil to be a Braggart in victory again good luck to Rosco.
  5. I really only went to White City for individual and World Cup events, so never really see league racing there when Kennett was in his prime.A great size and shape and was often slick there but there was some entertaining racing produced.
  6. A thankless task as Middlo found out, a bit of a poisoned chalice to be honest good luck to Alun in the job though.Just hope we dont worry to much about the short term results but do everything in our power to help the likes of Lambert and Ellis ( ect)
  7. I have missed one home meeting in about five years that i think was against Somerset in a challenge have only been to a few away i am not interested as some of the EL tracks are not my cup of tea.I have seen plenty of Ward live to have a OPINION a word you have never grasped do us a favour go and take a chill pill.!
  8. What from your armchair? you were talking about Woffinden and Ward which is fine then decide to have a pop at me for whatever reason. All i said was how many live meetings have you been to? in the last two years your best bet is stick to the debate give your OPINION and move on.
  9. How many EL meetings have you seen LIVE in the last twenty four months?.
  10. i know if you have half a brain i was wrong on the GP Front i admit that is not a problem.I still prefer the one off final always will do i wont change my mind but not being nasty you dont watch that LIVE speedway in the uk do you? How many live meeting,s do you you watch? I am not saying i am right far from it how many meeting,s have you watched LIVE.!not many have a deep breath then regroup.!
  11. That year has gone! Eight months ago no one no one predicted Tai had a prayer. Now Tai is the man to beat, a different pressure i believe in Ward,s ability always will with Holder and Emil they all have ta chance.
  12. Scunny fans who do you think will be the No 1 ? this year i think Auty will be average about 8.80? Douglas could he add two points to his average? This side looks the side to beat for me well done to Rob Godfrey he has put together an exciting team on there travels they will be great value i will certainly go to Somerset to watch them.
  13. I just wish Parsloes or Chunky had millions to get the Stadium up and running again as i know both of them loved Wimbledon i certainly did.Hackney also on a Friday night was a great night out i remember a vintage Thommo coming from the back there he was certainly one of the most exciting riders i have ever seen great bloke as well.
  14. He has done it over one year only, can he deliver say over the next ten years?.As you have said he has done it he is in the roll of honour history books a great achievement Tai has a different challenge now he is the man to be shot at the man to beat.He is a great flag bearer for the sport good with the media and will be a breath of fresh air for the sport.Defending the WC and winning more titles is so hard to do, i am really am looking forward to seeing how he copes with the challenge. Jessup did not have mega ability! he was a world class rider no doubt about that but there were other English riders in that era that were as good if not better than Jessup.
  15. Really surprising Gustix'' that Briggs learned his craft at the small Wimbledon and New Cross venues,as his reputation and standing on the big tracks was outstanding. His record at the big Abbey stadium and the big pacey Hyde Rd ( 6 BLRC) was awesome but he did say he crashed alot at Wimbledon but this spell must have acted as his apprenticeship.Wimbledon when i have been there, there was something SPECIAL about the place when you got there it looked so professional had nice viewing facilities and the track when prepared was smooth and i have seen some excellent racing there ie) Spring Classic.
  16. The frying pan moose! i thought that was Crayford ? i went there only once when Paul Woods was the star was New Cross that small? moose.!
  17. Bit sad Colin don't you think? i am not saying you have to agree far from it but you would have to be Stevie Wonder not to think Ward has mega ability.! I thinkI if Ward gets his act together it is up to him he has everything in his hands we will see.
  18. 2014. 1.Ward. 2.Iversen. 3.Sayfutdinov, with Holder,Woffinden, Hampel all in the mix and all having a chance of being WC. If Ward and his team can sit down have a gameplan he can win it.If prepared he should reach the semi,s in most GPs minimum i believe, but he just has to except that at times he just has to take the points not override and move on to the next round.Does anyone else believe anyone else outside those six riders can win it ?. If Ward stays injury free has a plan and sticks to it this year could be his year and IF and it is a big IF if he wins his first title that could push him on to win other world championships this year should be an exciting one.
  19. Rosen, Douglas, R.Jensen, Auty, Ellis, all to up there averages.
  20. Second that, went for the first time in 74/ 75 in the Mauger/Autrey era how exciting it was so fast felt part of everything.Went to there last ever meeting, think Adams won the final? Mauger had a blast and Scott Autrey made an appearance which was great such a shame it has gone now.
  21. Were some of those named better WK in your opinion!! than Freddie Williams? is Freddie an unsung hero.?
  22. Yes right Paulco i believe this was the year Briggo did not qualify for the final in 71 he had done for 17 years on the trot ? Olsen,s year.
  23. Old Meadowbank i believe it was a very big pacey track did they have the Nordic final/ British final there in 70 / 71.?
