Edinburgh V Berwick (lc) 17/4/15 @7.30pm

I am very glad to be of some amusement to someone. If you recall Glasgow's plight of the last few years the board members were asked to contribute, as they did and that is why we have a club today. When the (now old)promotion came in two years ago they stated that they did not want the begging bowl to be passed around!! The current situation is great for all involved though I have witnessed both envy and admiration from my friends through there in the East. Your success has come at a cost to the fans and to the owner of Workington speedway(that is how far you begging bowl got round to). The promotion just seem to threaten to shut the club down, let the fans pay to run it then take the plaudits. The extra pound to sit in the stand is desperate though. Can't see Berwick hitting more than 35 tonight -

17 quid to get in + another golden nugget to sit in the grandstand. scandalous. Another terrible viewing platform at the "Begging Bowl Arena"!!! -
What a year that was!!!!

Why is it always about Glasgow? This is a Rye thread so is it not best to keep it that way?

The benefit of an asset is so your club doesn't get fined for having "too weak" an asset list like Glasgow did last year. The wisdom of the BSPA, fining a club struggling financially.

Could be a bit noisy with all the bikes behind you, how will you hear the PA system?
-
If the plans come through it should be a great place to watch the speedway. May fork out for hospitality too

Hopefully the next signing announced will be Micheal Max

Another thoroughly depressing meeting at the "San Siro" of Scottish speedway! Total dross! The "incredible" patter is cringeworthy too! Berwick didn't look particularly interested and the monarchs can only beat what is put in front of them! No entertainment at all, those fans that slaughtered Berwick's track for no passing must of had a severe case of déjà vu tonight! With the exception of people making mistakes! -

It was pouring constantly in Kilbarchan for more than a day! Hope we get some action today!! -
I will go out on a limb here and say Lambert is probably earmarked for a move to the dark side later in the season and that is why Harkess has blocked the move! Would take Christian back to the Tigers in a heartbeat!

Lesse Bjerre is a tadger! JG should of taught him not to mess with people up here! He mixes ambition with ability which is a dangerous game in this sport -

A very enjoyable meeting apart from Dmitri at the end! Jesus wasn't his usual self! UO came good and Jacobs was pretty good! For Glasgow, Kevin came good and showed a bit if grit! DB was outstanding, TP & RH were good until their falls! We should of won by more though! Onwards and upwards -
I sincerely hope he doesn't sign for us!

Maybe it is Glasgow's turn to get £15k from Worky this year? Maybe it is Glasgow's turn to get £15k from Worky this year?

Regarding the last comment I made I had been told from a usually reliable source that we were interested in them! They wouldn't be my choice! Now that Berge has signed I'd like Ringwood, Vissing and Magnus Karlson to complete the team!

Wolbert and Sneddon next

Wee Joe put half a point on his starting average, which isn't much but it was his first year in PL. I'd say Harley was finding his feet and had put a couple of decent scores together, not a world beater but seeing most places for the first time and coping with being away from home. James Wright was a huge gamble and it blew up on us spectacularly. His form has been on a downward spiral for a couple of years. I'd take the Fish in a heartbeat. Pure entertainer. It was tough viewing last year. It isn't untested riders I'm looking for. First and foremost we need a team that will dominate at home I did say I'd be happy to have Theo in the team I would just prefer to see new faces about the club.
