It is equally ridiculous. Fitting in the low numbers of meetings in a 6/7 month period shouldn’t be difficult.

As much as I like to see Edinburgh struggle, it benefits no one forcing a team to go into a meeting under strength. it will always come to the best interests of the sport. We had to deal with Dan, Leon and Villads missing meetings last year. I would have been fuming if we couldn’t use a facility to replace them.

Why do we accept these off times to race against Edinburgh? Track will be different and probably suit them. It is like the ridiculous way we accept the Plymouth matches after riding up in Scotland.

What rules did he break? he broke a gentleman’s agreement. It’s not cricket but also not illegal. From a Glasgow (and general speedway) perspective, I’d rather he wasn’t involved in any Edinburgh matches. Imagine rocking up to Ashfield today explaining to someone that one of our riders helped our rivals last night. I know it has happened many times but the rider is wide open to abuse (dammed if he scores well, accused of not trying if he doesn’t). if I was in his position and had a choice to ride at Workington rather than Berwick I know what I would choose.

A trick is missed every year. The first two weekends of the season should be a 4TT with Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick and Workington. Get big crowds in and some semi competitive racing before the real business starts. East Coast one weekend, Edinburgh Friday & Berwick Saturday then Glasgow and Worky the other.

Bored at work, so I'll bite. 😂 We (Glasgow fans) always expect you to put a team together. Our blend of experience and youth next year should be a good match again to your rumoured team. Roll on the new season.

Hopefully the Tigers can keep it tight tonight and they don’t get distracted by the southern softies gamesmanship. Brown’s moaning after the last meeting is still embarrassing for any Glaswegian. Should have been dealt with in a more traditional manner. Newton’s third law. A lot will depend on Harris, Nagel and Dan tonight. Someone mentioned Lawson and Tobi “sorting Nagel out” in heat one, that could be interesting. Nagel is not scared to mix it, his heat 15 against Charles Wright proved that. He may be tentative on a new track though. CT being the ref could be an interesting. Despite some Poole fans saying that Glasgow are favourites for the match (incredibly sh1te patter) we all know it’s Poole’s to lose. They are on a hot streak and have the mentality that is required. Hopefully Glasgow can find that resilience and fight the good fight.we have done it before. Any truth in the rumour that there will be drug and fuel testing tonight?

It all comes down to the league final now for the Tigers. It was a diddy cup anyway. praying for rain offs this week.

Hope everyone is ok. Regardless of what decision the clowns at the governing body make, someone will rightly feel injustice. Both teams had a fair chance to qualify. My red and white tinted glasses would say Glasgow were more likely to go through though. Speedy recovery to those that are hurt. Hope the H&S people aren’t too severe. Did Edinburgh have a hard time with them after Cook’s bike went over and hit the photographer(that shouldn’t have been there)?

It was a local derby, scenes like this should be encouraged. If Edinburgh had won they would have reacted in the same way, and rightfully so. Another point to take into consideration is that it was probably 50% celebration and 50% relief for a lot of people. We were woeful in the first leg, a date we should never of agreed to. If Edinburgh had a half decent team they could have put 60 on the board that night. This coupled with the bizarre decisions made it a night of high emotion. What we seen at the end was that pouring out. I’ll put money on that not one single Glasgow fan cares whether some people don’t like to see people celebrating a last heat decider to qualify for a final. When you don’t celebrate beating your nearest and dearest what is the point of sport?

What night of action. Will cover the negatives first. The bizarre decision on the re-run in heat 1. Any explanation over the tannoy would have been good. Just gave enough time for the rider to get sorted like it was some youth meeting. The human error of putting the red lights on, sure it could happen to anyone but that was amateur stuff. Both incidents benefitted the away team. Track still wasn’t at its best. Lots more dirt than Tuesday but probably little clay put in to bind it. Now the positives. Glasgow winning in the last heat decider over two legs on our home patch was simply phenomenal. The atmosphere was electric. Always great when a big travelling crowd come through and make a lot of noise. The place was buzzing, the tension built and built till the amazing heat 15. Tigers top end was always going to be strong. BSN’s great coverage. A semi final being run in relatively warm and dry conditions, let’s hope the final isn’t decided in a swamp. Well done to all involved.

Glasgow v Berwick Friday 25th July

Just a general thought. The racing at Ashfield has went downhill since Meredith has been involved. As the saying goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. No need for him to be here. Racing has been great for years without him. -
Not sure what the cause of this is but the timing is absolutely baffling. if it is a cash flow issue, surely this flags up the ridiculous scenario that there are 2/3 weeks in between meetings. The league needs to be 2H2A. If we aren’t doing it because of 1 team a decision needs to be made regarding that team regarding the greater good of the sport. If the authorities (government) have flagged up an anomaly then the timing is outwith everyone’s control. If the BSP have done this on a whim, they have royally screwed Berwick, Oxford and Redcar fans and promoters.

Great score. Stream was decent. Racing came good. Heat 13 was superb. -
Signing Ashton after his performance in the play offs last year was mental. Bottle had gone then. Hope he beats his demons. Remember he is still a young guy.
