  1. Perfectly valid as UK employment law is there to protect UK citizens not foreign nationals.....
  2. Quite ironic really that the young white British male finds himself as the 'token' in the team
  3. Doubling up was originally intended to give up and coming British riders the chance of experience in the top league without the risk of losing their 2nd tier place It soon mushroomed out of all recognition due to the usual self interest over riding a perfectly sensible original ethic If it is to stay long term lets go back to Brits only at anytime with restrictions to 1 or 2 years for non Brits (if at all)
  4. I see you point and no doubt that has been behind more than a few decisions However I would hope that in this case that not the right time means because it is now rather than because it is Edinburgh asking
  5. Id say that means they feel discretion should remain part of the regs but that now is not the right time to apply it
  6. I dont think Peterboroughs involvement has anything to do with it. They didnt get involved until many weeks after the original scenario unfolded....
  7. ''These procedures were clarified and implemented forcibly in recent years when British Speedway ran a serious risk of losing the use of all visa riders'' That last paragraph is the BSPA reasoning for declining the appeal. They obviously feel that if they did apply discrection now it could put the whole system at risk
  8. As an aside Manzares has been granted a new visa on the basis of his 4th place Accepting that Becker MAY have finished 3rd would push Manzares down to 5th in the notional standings and not qualifying for a visa To grant Becker may then lead to having to rescind the already granted Manzares visa to still be within the guidelines
  9. How about if its so important to stop a rider over 6 then why are ALL not blocked regardless of having a Championship average The irony also is that Scott wouldve ridden more meetings at Championship level guesting than a number of riders who did obtain an established average
  10. Geoff Geoff where are you? Theyre talking about Kings Lynn now At least when it was Poole it was about play off rivals
  11. On this basis Ipswich would be KoCup winners in 2017 Lost Schlein in leg 1 and King in leg 2 Both were in top 3 points scorers and heat winners during the season Using these average likely scores Ipswich wouldve won If Becker qualifies for a visa and a team spot then Boro need to hand over the cup.... Absurd? Yes of course it is - just like the visa appeal.....
  12. More good work to look to improve racing and entertainment
  13. Perhaps Matt is just ensuring that the demands Shanes makes are realistic by putting it out there that other options are still available....
  14. May as well drop the Pirate branding and go for a new nickname Poole Campanologists has the right 'ring' to it
  15. Ive heard Baldy called quite a few things over the years but never a Poole fan before
