  1. Well its the battle of 2 teams that made 'astute' changes to take advantage in the hiatus between averages becoming effective to build teams 2+ points above the league limit so should be a top drawer contest 😜
  2. Not putting down the idea at all. If practical then every club should do it. However in the real world the likes of Newcastle and Ipswich (and others but those quoted as are the posters who have commented so far) dont have the option. Ipswich for example would be able to prep and cover on the Sunday at the earliest following a Tursday meeting if there was a stock car meeting. Unless of course its the hokey cokey covers on covers off covers on between stadium uses.
  3. Nathan Greaves rode for IOW on Thursdays but ended up at Ipswich...
  4. So at Foxhall they put the covers on by midnight after the Thursday meeting and leave them till next week?? I wonder what state they would be in after 50 stock cars had run over them 1000s of times on the Saturday night. I suppose that the speedway promotion could arrange for the track team to come in at midnight Saturday and put them on...
  5. I agree and it would still be wrong if it was Ipswich. Yes it is down to the BSPA.
  6. The crack is that Peterborough (and others) were allowed to use the mix of new and old averages when there was a mechanism within the regs to update all which wouldve resulted in the team total being a truer reflection of its strength. One of the most fundamental elements of speedway regs is the aim to have equal strength teams through the points limit. This has been undermined IMO. The saddest and most frustrating part is that it was so obviously an issue that could have been dealt with in the winter when it was decided to reset the averages (along with conversion ratios etc)
  7. Now that you have managed to squeeze Harris in through the cracks in the regulations - a proper number 1 for a flaky 2nd string - 000stergaard finds himself in the position that fits his current status. That change has moved him from an under performing under pressure heat leader to a comfortably placed higher ranked 2nd string.
  8. There is a saying - "Take one step back to take two steps forward" Hopefully its true....
  9. Plenty of other tracks could afford covers - I dont think cost is the issue for all. The problem is the logistics of stadium use and man power as to when they could be used.
  10. I wouldnt know. He has been running 2 I believe so cant have been a great deal. Also wouldnt know if any issue was down to the engine or set up error.
  11. Nathan Greaves has one less now - it blew up during warm up tonight.
  12. Was impressed by Pickering. Quickly found a fast way round and unlucky not to score more.
  13. That 3 heat run of 5-1s got us out of jail but of course they all count so get in!! When Nathan crashed out it looked a tough task but take a bow Connor Mountain. Well deserved MOM nomination. A big part of that pivotal 3 heat streak 👍👏 I feared for The Scotsman when Danny unluckily hit the deck in 13 - his blood pressure was reaching danger levels 😊 I thought I was gonna learn some new Scottish obscenities 😆 At least Rory was fair gating last again to prove it didnt matter 😛
  14. you will have to change your name to panther@heart if you keep saying things like that 😜
  15. I think the vast majority of the clashes were weekend away dates rather than Thursdays.... It could be he realigns his thinking and makes himself available. Any club that manages to get him will be stronger for it IMO.
  16. If Sedge gets 15 all is forgiven for his last 2 away performances 😜
  17. Lets hope we dont get anymore wet stuff and the base gets a chance to dry out rather than the dampness rising like last week....
  18. The 2 parts quoted here are not always the situation. It could be - couldnt agree terms. wanted to pay too little
  19. Happy to be proved correct Neil -thats all I meant. Happy to be proved correct Neil -thats all I meant.
  20. the handcart was found found to have oversized wheels but the results stands as it was beyond doubt that hell is the destination
