  1. no one sniped at Berwick as no one seemed to know about the revision.Posters were praising Somerset initially at putting together another excellent side. Only a little later did the new 7 assessed position emerge. As yet there has been no official confirmation that this is actually in place - only a few independant comments of what they say was agreed at the agm.
  2. it was in jest - I just like using the quirky worky magic converter line!Your team is within the rules - some of those rules may be outdated some may have been changed to suit a few at the agm but you are within them ( thanks to Camptons 2 year visa apparently -wink)
  3. have to agree you havent built to 44.5. Thanks to the quirky worky magic converter its actually about 46.wink
  4. Officially the reduction is available to any rider progressing from the NL so does not in itself exclude EU riders and is therefore not againt the laws. The fact that the NL as a development league is also exempt from EU law on employment matters means that the discount is effectively to British riders only. For once that is quite clever by the BSPA!
  5. Any British rider within 3 years of acheving their first average still gets 2.5% reduction and quite right too.
  6. I understand Worky have issued a statement re the Holder assessed average of 5 saying it should be 7. Isnt part of the proposal that any visa is subject to the rider attaining their assessed average within 2 seasons to be able to renew? Mason Campton - has he done that?
  7. Another major change in the regs that is not announced! Do Somerset have a leg to stand on? Who knows until there is official statements to confirn the change or not. I for one had no inkling of this increase and nothing had been brought up when others signed elsewhere. I jumped on the Kurtz bandwagon last year because I thought it was wrong. With Holder Im yet to be convinced it is a similar attempt to push the limit (pun intended)
  8. If stepping up doesnt work out then they wouldnt have an average that is as over inflated. If they get a higher average its because it has worked out and they have been better than previous seasons.
  9. they dont need it now they have unveiled the ......... Aussie Rebel treble.
  10. So is it confirmed as Josh G R Worrall B Kurtz C Wright J Holder P Starke O Greenwood
  11. Since the time when the 'issue' arose with the riders mentioned the conversion rate had been altered from 0.5 to 0.6 to attempt to rebalance the inter league strengths. Then to combat the skewed format a further change has been made this winter. Therefore IMO the MPT rule is outdated. However it is there and has been rightly administered and too late to change now even if the will was there to do so.
  12. never under estimate the power of the quirky worky magic converter!
  13. As would any team built to 46.5 points when the rest can only go to 42.5
  14. In that case here goes...... Outstanding title favourites - hand them the trophy now! wink
  15. left out of the agm statement but there is a new cross border conversion rate.Apparently its 42.50 - whatever worky have used =Cooks new average.
  16. tend to agree - the only other variable is the gate positions when they meet. Marginal difference but could have sone impact.
  17. Barker is a good signing for any team. Whatever people think of him off the track - and there is no doubt he divides opinion - he is great value when it comes to entertainment.
  18. Thats from left field! A strong character and a straightforward decent bloke IMO. Phil would familiar to many as one of the photographers in the hi vis on the centre green and in the pits. Has a lifetime of knowledge as a fan and has obviously seen it all close up from behind the lens so knows what he is letting himself in for. Welcome aboard Phil.
  19. is that a mis spelt cryptic message in your post Baldy??
  20. Only the return of Mike Smillie can ignite the spirit needed for a championship fight.
  21. Its just another example of the inconsistency in the regs. Jensen could use an average thats 8 years old. Sundstrom cant use one from 4 years ago. because he had 2 years in the EL in between. Palm Toft can use one thats 2 years old because he only had 1 year in the EL before returning. Palm Tofts 4.92 is valid under the regs but that doesnt mean it is a fair assessment.
  22. but its not his last average - which should override it.If he had not ridden in Britain at all fair enough but he did. Therefore he has a established British average for 2014 which should be used with the relevant conversion rate.
  23. We will all be able to make our minds up as to whether we agree with him within a few days.
